Chapter 30 – Jin Jie, the Defensive Shrew Part 2

At this time, Yan Lin finally finished the phone call and came over. Mother Yan cut half of the apple and handed it to him.

“I will not eat it.”

Mother Yan’s action was to win Yan Lin over temporarily since she wanted to make her son support her for appearance sake.

Who would have thought that Yan Lin didn’t give her any respect. She held herself back and put the apple which had spent a long time peeling back on the plate.

Yan Lin looked up to Yan Yuelin and quietly said, “Right now the Yan Group is being taken care of by the directors. Why do you suddenly want to take over?”

Yan Yuelin was not afraid of the heavens and the earth, but was afraid of Yan Lin.

When Yan Lin asked him a question, he no longer dared to be as disrespectful as he was just now.

“I’ve been studying abroad for it. Now that I have been back for so long, I’ve learned almost everything there is, so why can’t I take over? Brother, I know you have Chloe, and you don’t like our little branch of the family, so will you not compete with me?”

Zu Jin was listening on the side and almost blew up in rage.

“Compete with you? Are you qualified?” Zu Jin couldn’t help it and spoke up.

Yan Yuelin was dumbfounded and turned around to look at her. “Sister-in-law, this is about the Yan Group. I think you shouldn’t speak for the time being.”

However, Zu Jin laughed angrily when she heard him say this.

She leaned on the sofa and crossed her legs. “You know you are an illegitimate child. If you didn’t know, then you are just a stranger who has no seat at the table, aren’t you? Yan Lin is usually busy and doesn’t want to manage the affairs of the Yan Group. But don’t forget that there is still my Feifei. When Feifei grows up and hears that her grandfather won’t give her anything, what will she think of that?”

With that, Zu Jin looked at Father Yan.

Father Yan kept his silence with his eyes closed. It was obvious that he wanted to blame them for all of the troubles, so that he could hide and be at peace.

When Yan Yuelin saw that Father Yan had really stopped helping him, he couldn’t stop his complexion from turning dark to white.

“How old is Feifei? Besides, don’t girls marry out in the future? Are we going to give Yan Group to her as a dowry?”

As soon as Mother Yan, who had just been defeated in battle, heard this, she suddenly came back to life.

“You are you! What we do for Feifei’s dowry only concerns us! That’s my own granddaughter! Don’t concern yourself with it!”

“That’s enough!” Yan Lin couldn’t watch them anymore.

He searched his pants pockets and then took a few steps forward. He frowned and said in a heavy voice, “I think you know better than me about the annual profits and losses of the company you founded. Do you think you have the ability to be in charge of the Yan Group right now?”

Yan Yuelin was silent.

Yan Lin looked at him coldly and continued, “We will wait until you have the ability to talk about it again.”

“Father?” 

Yan Yuelin did not have any more moves and looked at his father in desperation.

But Father Yan had closed his eyes and fallen asleep.

Yan Yuelin took a deep breath. He had no choice but to get up and leave.

After the door to the ward closed, Zu Jin angrily asked, “That can’t be. Are you really going to give it to him later?”

Mother Yan was also a bit worried. “Right, that’s your father’s blood, sweat, and tears…”

Yan Lin looked down towards Mother Yan. “Haven’t you taken good care of Yuelin for all these years? Father is happier. If he has the ability, then what’s wrong with giving him the Yan Group?”

Mother Yan immediately became silent again.

After the visit to Father Yan was over, Zu Jin and Yan Lin left the hospital together.

When they were in the car,  Zu Jin wanted to complain to him about his parents’ attitude just now.

But at this moment, Yan Lin had a cold air over him. It was clear that he was in a bad mood, so she didn’t say anything and let him be angry.

But on the way back, Zu Jin suddenly did not want to dwell on the negative.

In the past, Yan Lin didn’t want to pay attention to Yan Yuelin’s petty tricks, and he didn’t have any interest in managing the Yan Group.

Moreover, even if Father Yan finally gave Yan Group to them, they would not have the time to take care of any troubles.

And in the future, Feifei still had her parents and would probably not ask for this kind of dowry.

Thus, there was no need to argue about these things, right?

“Don’t be angry,” Yan Lin suddenly said these comforting words as he drove.

Zu Jin was shocked for a moment and looked sideways at Yan Lin. She couldn’t believe there was a smile on his face.

This surprised her. “I thought you were angry?”

Yan Lin shook his head. “I was angry at first, but seeing how you defended me just now, I couldn’t continue being angry.”

Zu Jin giggled and exclaimed, “I felt like a shrew just now!”

“I didn’t think that. I think you were very beautiful just now, and what you said was very beautiful.”

The couple drove on and laughed the entire way.
