Chapter 29 – Zu Xiaofei Attends Kindergarten Part 2

Zu Jin looked at Xia Tong indifferently, when in reality her heart had gone through a moment of dull pain.

Over the years, Xia Tong was one of the few people she trusted.

From a newcomer who just graduated from college, to the steps they took to get to where they were, Zu Jin thought that their relationship was no longer as simple as the relationship between a superior and a subordinate.

They had experienced so many things together from the positives to the negatives. But now, Xia Tong had betrayed her.

And it was for someone who saw her as an enemy.

It was so ridiculous. ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ

Zu Jin watched as Xia Tong shed tears, but she couldn’t cry at all.

She did not like crying and she hated seeing others cry.

Right now, not only did Xia Tong’s tears make her furious, it made her feel pain in her heart.

At this time, Zu Jin could not even make a sarcastic comment, and without a doubt, it was useless to say more.

" "

She took out a red packet from her bag and gently placed it into Xia Tong’s hand.

“Congratulations.”

With that, she lightly wiped Xia Tong’s tears with the back of her hand, and then left without looking back.

Bai Qing and Ji Shiyu’s case were put together by the police. Although the progress was slow, they discovered a lot of things.

They found several fingerprints at the scene of Ji Shiyu’s death. The owner of these fingerprints was a middle-aged man who had committed robbery and extortion and had just been released from prison.

After the police confirmed his identity, they wanted to find him for questioning, but he was somehow missing.

The police currently suspected that the man was either silenced by the man behind this or hidden when the news of Ji Shuyi’s death spread.

The case was a dead end and could only move forward if the police found the man and brought him in for further questioning.

As the days went by in the blink of an eye, it became the first day of the next month.

Zu Xiaofei was going to start kindergarten. Yan Lin made it clear to  Zu Jin the day before that she must either take the day off or skip work to show up at the kindergarten with them.

The other children had both parents send them off because it was the first day of school. If she was not there, Zu Xiaofei would not be happy.

No matter what happened and as long as Zu Jin wanted to go home, their daughter was the top priority of their family.

Yan Lin rarely requested anything from her. Thus, Zu Jin naturally paid more attention to this.

After breakfast the next day, Zu Jin drove while Yan Lin sat in the back with their daughter.

Along the way, Yan Lin told his daughter what to pay attention to after arriving at the kindergarten. Zu Jin felt her scalp go numb as she listened.

She really didn’t expect it to be so troublesome when children went to kindergarten.

But at the same time, she was shocked by Yan Lin’s meticulous work, because she would not have thought of so many things to pay attention to.

As soon as they arrived at the kindergarten and got out of the car, there was a sudden burst of cries that sounded like wailing ghosts.

However, the teachers who stood at the gate welcoming everyone still had friendly smiles on their faces.

Zu Xiaofei looked back at Yan Lin and Zu Jin after a few steps. Her eyes were red as she went in.

Zu Jin breathed out a sigh of relief. She turned to go back to the car and bring it over.

When Yan Lin got in, she smiled and said, “I thought Feifei would cry for a while before she would go in. I didn’t think she would just go in so obediently.”

Yan Lin put his seat belt on and didn’t speak. Zu Jin then said, “Feifei is going to school now, so you won’t be so busy in the future. Why don’t we go out for a meal and celebrate?”

Yan Lin was still silent. Zu Jin turned into the main road.

" "

Then she couldn’t help but turn and look at Yan Lin. She ended up seeing Yan Lin about to cry!

She had never seen Yan Lin cry.

Yan Lin’s eyes were red and so was his nose. He was looking straight ahead. Even though he had a calm expression on, he still could not hide his sadness.

Zu Jin resisted the urge to laugh. She pulled out a tissue and gave it to him.

“Wipe your tears, don’t let anyone see it.”

Yan Lin took it but didn’t wipe his tears because he soon collected his feelings.

Instead of making fun of him, Zu Jin quietly drove and parked the car by the river.

They sat in the car and didn’t get out. Zu Jin lowered the window and reclined the seat.

“My mom is always at home these days. It’s been hard for you.”

Yan Lin followed her in reclining the seat. Just when Zu Jin thought he would say that it was not hard, he said something that made her laugh.

“The cleaning lady I hired said your mother is too powerful. She is waiting until your mother leaves before she comes back to work. So if you think it’s been hard for me, then go back and help me with the housework.”
