Chapter 19 – The Hot Pot That Keeps Inverting Part 2

Jiang Kai, Zu Jin, and Liu Wei were all college classmates. Back then, Jiang Kai chased Liu Wei, but she focused on studying, working part-time jobs, and so on, so she didn’t agree to a relationship.

Later, after they graduated and were working, they came across each other in the workplace and got together.

They also discussed marriage for two years before it happened.

“Then no matter how fast you are, you should at least be in a relationship for half a year. You should go on a couple of dates and then get the certificate. I really didn’t think you would be such an impulsive person!”

Liu Wei was hugging her son. She nudged Jiang Kai with her arm, and said, “They are in love with each other. Why do you care?”

“Okay, okay, I won’t say anything.” Jiang Kai raised his beer glass to Yan Lin. “Brother Yan, let’s do one cheers first, okay?”

Yan Lin turned to look at Zu Jin, “Then you’re driving when we go back.”

Zu Jin nodded. “You can drink.” 

The men clinked their glasses, and Jiang Kai immediately filled it up again.

Based on his attitude, it was as if he wanted to get Yan Lin drunk.

Thus, Zu Jin leaned into Yan Lin’s ear and whispered, “Drink less. He goes crazy when he is drunk.”

Jiang Kai couldn’t stand it anymore, and pointed at Zu Jin. “Hey, hey, hey! What are you doing? You can’t protect your husband like that!”

Liu Wei gave him a glance to shut up and said to Yan Lin, “Brother Yan, ignore him. He is drunk!”

As soon as Zu Jin saw that Liu Wei and Jiang Kai were about to quarrel again, Zu Jin felt a headache coming and needed to rectify the situation in a few words.

But at this moment, her cell phone rang, and she saw that Xu Tianying was calling.

Xu Tianying was her rare confidant in the business world, and they didn’t hide any business dealings from each other.

But in private, Xu Tianying was only casting1, so they basically didn’t play together.

Zu Jin thought that something was wrong for Xu Tianying to call her without any warning.

“I’m going out to answer the phone.”

She walked to the bathroom with her cell phone, and Xu Tianying’s anxious voice came as soon as they were connected.

“You finally answered!”

“What’s the matter? Why are you calling me right now?”

Xu Tianying said, “I heard some internal information that several people on the Qiyu board of directors have poached a guy from the South Jiafu Group. That guy has a very vicious method. Why did they find such a person to come over? What are they planning on doing? Is it to strike you? You have to be on guard.”

Zu Jin tilted her head to press her phone in place. She turned on the faucet and washed her hands.

“I know. Don’t tell others about this, just pretend you don’t know.”

Xu Tianying agreed, “Then if you need help, remember to say it. I happen to have some money on my side, and I’m worried that there is no place to use it. If you leave Qiyu, I will give it to you immediately!”

Zu Jin pulled out a paper towel and wiped her hands. She angrily retorted, “Who’s leaving Qiyu?! I will not leave! Okay, I can’t talk to you anymore. I’m hanging up!”

After the call, she returned to her seat. She did not think that Jiang Kai would already bring up the topic of being a full-time husband.

He looked worked up and said, “Taking care of a child and cooking are all women’s work. Men must be outside assuming responsibility. Brother Yan, I’m not talking about you. Imagine asking your wife for every penny that you spend. Aren’t you embarrassed?”

Yan Lin and Liu Wei were probably dealing with him for a while.They currently looked a little tired.

That’s why Jiang Kai was the only one at the table who did not stop talking, while the other two kept eating hot pot.

After Zu Jin sat down, Jiang Kai seemed to have found another eligible listener, and immediately appeared more energetic.

“A man who is always holed up in the house is a waste. Zu Jin, look, you two are married, but you don’t even have a ring…”

Zu Jin and Liu Wei looked at each other, and both saw a trace of embarrassment in each other’s eyes.

Zu Jin began to regret letting Liu Wei conceal the things about Yan Lin, but they didn’t expect Jiang Kai to be so chauvinistic in his bones.

She hesitated on how to explain things, but there was a low voice that suddenly came from behind her.

“President Yan?”

Zu Jin turned around and saw that it was a man who was about fifty or so. He had some gray hair and was wearing casual clothes.

But at first glance, this person appeared to have been in a high position for many years. Although his face is full of kind smiles, the manners of a high-ranking person could not be hidden.

He walked to Yan Lin’s side and immediately extended his hand.

“President Yan, I really didn’t expect to meet you here. Last time we met at Lin Yuan’s place. You probably don’t remember me, right? Haha.”

Yan Lin smiled. He stood up and shook his hand. “I remember. You are Lin Yuan’s friend and Tingyue’s boss.”

The man didn’t think Yan Lin would remember him, and his happy face flushed immediately.

At this moment, Jiang Kai, who was sitting across from Yan Lin, seemed to have swiftly sobered up.

He stared at the man in a daze, and exclaimed, “Wang Jun of Tingyue Assets! God…”

Wang Jun looked at Jiang Kai and then at Yan Lin. “President Yan, who is this?”

Yan Lin introduced Jiang Kai and Liu Wei to him. When it was Zu Jin’s turn, he wrapped his arm around her waist.

“This is Zu Jin, my wife.”

Wang Jun’s expression was frozen in shock for an instant. He quickly looked at Zu Jin’s eyes and immediately nodded to her to show respect.

“I’ve heard of you, President Jin, the President of Qiyu Corporation. I didn’t expect you and President Yan to be a couple!”

With that, Wang Jun unexpectedly took out his wallet to give Zu Jin a business card, and then handed two to Jiang Kai and Liu Wei. 

“President Yan, President Jin, I didn’t mean to bother you during dinner. Let’s talk when we have a chance next time.”

After Wang Jun left, Jiang Kai looked at the gilded business card in his hand, and then looked up at Yan Lin.

“Brother Yan, Tingyue Assets is one of our domestic companies!” he said with a thumbs up.

“But why did Wang Jun treat you so respectfully just now? What did you do?”

Liu Wei, who was sitting next to Jiang Kai, shook her head and sighed. “How come I was so blind back then!”
