Old Zhongyi Lu suddenly stopped talking.

Su Lin was listening with interest, just about to ask “then what”.

Then he heard a heavy sound from above his head.

    “Hmph!”

    “………” Su Lin didn’t say a word.

He felt that right now, he was even breathing wrong.

Afterward, Old Zhongyi Lu didn’t speak again and sat at the table beside him. Su Lin didn’t know what he was looking at, but every now and then he came over to twist a needle.

As he laid on the table, Su Lin’s phone just received the photo.

Half a strawberry, with vivid red pulp. It looked very enticing, but his attention was completely focused on the edge of the strawberry.

Two rows of teeth marks could be seen, small and curved.

    “……”

    He was fucking crazy.

You even think that a bite mark is cute???

Su Lin slightly closed his eyes for a moment and opened them again.

He long pressed the picture – [save to device]

In his peripheral vision, he saw Grandpa Lu stand up, and immediately locked his phone screen. Then he felt a touch on the nape of his neck.

Lu Zhongyi held the alcohol swab in one hand and pressed the place where the needle was connected to his skin. Finally, he pressed down to stimulate the acupuncture point before pulling the needle out.

Su Lin turned over and sat up. His slippers hadn’t yet touched the ground before he heard Old Zhongyi Lu finally open his mouth again.

    “Can you drink Chinese medicine?”

Su Lin froze for a moment.

In fact, he rarely even took Western medicine. But hia mind unconsciously remembered the very beginning when Grandpa Lu said “Youngsters nowadays, ah. Acupuncture is too painful, medicine is too bitter” with a bit of disdain on his face.

    “…… Can drink.”

Grandpa Lu’s things were all tidied up. At his words, he looked at him.

“Then I’ll boil three days worth for you. Aren’t you and Yuanyuan classmates? I’ll have her bring it to you tomorrow.”

Su Lin paused, “Then…. I’ll trouble you.”

After saying that, he was given an empty look.

    “……”

    A few seconds later.

Old Zhongyi Lu continued, “You know that acupuncture has to be divided into several sessions, right.”

    “……?”

Old Zhongyi Lu frowned and educated: “You think you can get well in one go? Healed immediately after pricking today? Am I a miracle doctor?”

    “………”

Old Zhongyi Lu : “You calculate the time. You can’t come once a week, that’s too long. It’s best to have three days in between each acupuncture. You need roughly four sessions then your head will no longer hurt.”

    “…………”

    –

Old Zhongyi Lu washed his hands with soap. After leaving the bathroom, Lu Yuanyuan was no longer in the house. He could only see his longtime companion sitting alone on the sofa on the phone, smiling, looking to be in an excellent mood.

“…… Ah, that’s no problem. Go, go. Eat a little longer, there’s no rush, ah.”

“It’s no problem, aiya! Your grandfather’s over there. I’ll tell him.”

    “Mm. Okay. Bye bye!”

   ….

Old Zhongyi Lu was full of questions. He went over and sat next to her, “…… What are you going to tell me?”

“Yuanyuan,” Grandma Lu’s face was full of excitement, “Yuanyuan’s taking her classmates to dinner.”

    “……”

“Oh, don’t talk! The classmate she brought, this young man, I think he’s much better than Old Li’s grandson. He looks full of life!”

    “………”

Old Zhongyi Lu couldn’t listen anymore.

    He didn’t want to listen.

He tried hard to control his facial expression, “Go. Go grab the medicine for the healthy-looking young man.”

Because he gave consultations all year long from home, the house had a room dedicated for medicine. It was equipped with a medicine cabinet, divided by category—clear and unambiguous.

He had already written the prescription and handed it to his wife, but she was still chattering on, “Say, how did you look when you were young? Did you look so handsome? I’ve forgotten……”

    “………?”

    This was really too much.

Standing in the pharmacy, Old Zhongyi Lu pleasantly responded, “Well, not that handsome, but not too far off. Otherwise, how could you have married me.”

Meanwhile, he grabbed medicine from the cabinet labeled [Bitter Goldthread] and [Bitter Ginseng].

    Crossed out 100 grams.

    Changed it to 200 grams.

    Double the portion.

    —

    – “Let me buy you dinner.”

    – “You referred me to your grandfather’s house for treatment. I should treat you to a meal, right?”

    “……”

When Lu Yuanyuan sent Su Lin downstairs, she didn’t expect him to suddenly say this.

In fact, this wasn’t such a major event.

She had just wanted to say forget it and it wasn’t a big deal when Su Lin spoke again.

“I’m not familiar with this neighborhood.”

He was no longer expressionless. His eyes were fixedly staring at her, revealing a sort of eagerness.

Lu Yuanyuan was lost in thought for a moment.

She felt that she must’ve had the same look the time she was particularly thirsty for milk tea.

“I’m really hungry right now……” She didn’t know if she heard it wrong or not, but his voice, which was usually on the cold side, even carried a bit of grievance: “Eat with me?”

    “……”

The two went to her grandpa’s house in the afternoon. It was already time to eat right now. He said he was hungry, and he must be really hungry.

Lu Yuanyuan had just eaten a lot of large strawberries, and didn’t feel hungry at all. Hearing him say this….. she suddenly had a feeling that she had betrayed her fellow comrade.

Not only that…… he was also pricked by her grandpa.

He was obviously so afraid before, but he still got acupuncture.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt he was pitiful. Lu Yuanyuan didn’t hesitate and nodded, “Wait for me then. I’ll tell my grandma I’ll be going out for dinner.”

    “Okay.”

Su Lin watched the little girl take out her cell phone, dial a number, then connected the call. She earnestly reported to her grandma, “Grandma, I want to take my senior out for dinner. You and Grandpa don’t need to make anything for me.”

    “……”

“Don’t worry about me, it’s nothing.”

She knew that the person on the other end of the phone couldn’t see her, but still nodded her head every time she answered. Even her long hair followed, like some kind of small animal.

    An obedient kind.

He turned his face away and covered his lips with the back of his hand, silently bending the corners of his lips.

“Okay, senior!” Lu Yuanyuan walked up to him, or rather, bounced over to him, “Let’s go.”

Su Lin followed her out of the neighborhood. She made a lot of suggestions along the way, and also rejected them one by one.

He couldn’t help but say, “Pick what you like.”

The little girl thought for a while then turned her head and said seriously, “Anything’s fine.”

    “……”

The three most feared phrases when choosing a place to eat:

‘Anything’s fine’, ‘whatever you want’, and ‘you decide’.

Su Lin had originally felt much more refreshed after the acupuncture than when he had just after arriving, but now he was worried again because of the food.

I can’t remember the last time I told you guys to add to reading list + rate the novel on NU so here’s my reminder to do so if you haven’t! I think enough chapters have been posted for you to relatively have an opinion on the novel :)

I’ll be doing 2x a week posting for the foreseeable future. Either that or 3x some weeks but that’ll be rare because my stocked up chapters have been dwindling and this upcoming month for me will be unbelievably hectic and busy.
