Chapter 24: Malicious Man (2)

She was a person with memories of the past life and she was very clear about the future life trajectory of the old man. As long as she did not interfere and let everything happen naturally, the old man would be as prosperous as in her past life.

Although she was very unhappy, who let her have a relationship with the old man in this life, being on the same boat, even if she wasn’t happy, she could only hope that the old man was safe and sound.

But it wasn’t the same for Ruan-shi, she knew nothing at all, only knew the one closest to her had suffered and she couldn’t do anything at all.

Ruan-shi rubbed the top of her son’s head again. and said, “Take your sister to look for Tong’ger for play with!”

Zhou’ger answered loudly and ran towards Xu Yun Yao, holding her little hand very lovingly and said, “Sister, let’s go ask brother Ting to play!”

Xu Yun Yao nodded and looked at Ruan-shi again and let Zhou’ger lead her out the door.

Who knew, just when they walked out for a certain distance, Zhou’ger disliked her for walking too slow, he threw her hand and ran away so fast that not even a shadow was left.

Consort Xu, who was disliked, could only wrinkle her little nose depressedly.

Argh, siblings!

Bi Wen came forward while holding her laughter, and said, “At this time, brother Ting is at old lady Xia’s east courtyard, let me bring Miss to find him okay?

Xu Yun Yao cleverly replied ‘OK’.

They both walked slowly, about a quarter of an hour later, they passed through a round arch and then walked through a bluestone path to the east courtyard.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise coming from their front direction, Xu Yun Yao listened to it carefully, and faintly heard words like ‘a kid with the surname of He’, ‘Song Nian’, ‘case’. There was a sudden burst in her heart, she let go of Bi Wen’s hand and quickened her pace to walk over.

Bi Wen returned to her senses, and hurried to catch up, “Miss, please walk slower, be careful of falling.”

Xu Yun Yao ignored her and instead she went faster and faster and the noise became clearer and audible.

“…Mother, eldest brother, second brother, he’s just a kid, he doesn’t understand anything, he knows nothing. Even if he goes, what can he help with? That Prefect Wu is really observant. I can prove my husband’s innocence.” This was Ruan-shi’s voice speaking.

“I said, what is wrong with you woman? How could it be possible that an inexplicable child be more important compared to your husband? And it’s not like asking him to do something, it’s just to bring him there and give him to the third brother to testify. This is a good thing for the third brother,  do you really want to decline for all sorts of reasons?!

“What the eldest brother said is reasonable, third sister-in-law, this child is also an insider of the homicide case. If there is one more person to testify, the injustice of the third brother will be more easily cleared.” This one is Tang Zhang Nian that was from the  second room.

“No matter what you all have said, I won’t agree. It was obviously a fabricated rumor, what’s there to testify? If someone purely wanted to frame him, even if you found ten people or one hundred people to testify for my husband, it would also be useless, let alone rely on a child.” Ruan’s tone is unspeakable and determined.

When Xu Yun Yao arrived, he saw that Tang Bai Nian and Tang Zhang Nian, the two brothers were persuading Ruan-shi, while Wang-shi was eager to speak. On Wang-shi’s side, He Shaoting lowered his head and did not know what he was thinking.

“By the way, Yao Yao, the magistrate seems to have found someone to falsely accuse Lord Tang, saying that he took bribes and judged the case indiscriminately and let the real murderer, Dong-shi, go unpunished.” Yan Wu’s voice suddenly rang in her ears. When Xu Yun Yao’s footstep was stopped, she recalled the words of Tang Bai Nian and Ruan-shi’s, and understood them immediately.

It seemed that Tang Bai Nian and Tang Zhang Nian hoped that He Shaoting could come forward to confirm that Tang Song Nian’s judgment was not wrong. As long as it proves that his judgment was correct, the so-called acceptance of bribes to cover for the real culprit was naturally a pure imagination.

However, Ruan-shi clearly disagreed to let He Shaoting come forward.

She frowned as she looked at the three people who were still arguing.

Strange. It’s really strange. With Ruan-shi’s temperament, as long as she can help her husband, she will not object to it. And that Tang Bai Nian… He really could run this actively for the old man?

Xu Yun Yao didn’t believe him very much.

Suddenly, she thought of Yan Wu’s “strange ability” that could see through other people’s minds. She was busy in her heart and called out, Ah’ Wu.

Yan Wu answered happily, “Yaoyao, I’m here!”

“Help me hear what exactly the tallest man in front of us is thinking.” Said Xu Yun Yao in her heart.

Yan Wu uttered an ‘ah’, and her tone sounded somewhat innocent: “I can’t hear other people’s hearts!”

Xu Yun Yao was stunned, But can’t you hear me?

She obviously didn’t say a word that night, but this girl could still hear her true thoughts!

Yan Wu said aggrieved, “I can only hear you! What do I need to hear from others’ hearts for?”

What?!

Xu Yun Yao was completely stunned, her eyes widened in disbelief.

So what she kept behind was not a “good helper”, but a hole she dug for herself, keeping a bastard who could  only “peep” at her heart, making it more convenient for the other party to “commit crimes”?

Thinking that she had just lifted a stone and hit her foot for the first time in her two lives or even unconsciously sent her own handle to the other party’s hand, Xu Yun Yao felt that she was going crazy.

What stupid thing did she do!!
