Hyojun tried to stop Kiwook.

“Hey, Kiwook… the Rodent probably made it all up. He must’ve just heard from somewhere that your parents got divorced…”

Kiwook shook his head and replied, “I really hope that’s the case.”

“I’m sure it is, so let’s just leave…”

“I need to know.”

“Is that really necessary, Kiwook?”

“See? You aren’t sure either, are you?”

“What?”

When Hyojun’s eyes widened uncomfortably, Kiwook asked, “If you truly believe that what the Rodent said about my mom was a lie, why are you trying to stop me from talking to President Shim?”

Hyojun looked at Kiwook quietly.

“I know you are only trying to protect me, so thanks, but this is something I have to do.”

“Then I will go with you…”

“I need to do it alone.”

“Alright. One hour. I will only wait for one hour and if you don’t return by then, I’m going in too.”

Leaving Hyojun behind, Kiwook walked up to the president’s room again. Kiwook somehow knew that the truth would be painful, but he had to hear it. He had to know it for certain.

After a brief hesitation, he knocked the door.

“What! Who the hell is it?!”

President Shim’s annoyed shout was heard from inside.

“It’s Kiwook Noh, sir. I need to talk to you again.”

When he walked in, the room looked like a hurricane had passed through. The floor was littered with broken glasses and cups, and paper. It was obvious that the president had an angry outburst after Kiwook and Hyojun left.

When President Shim saw who it was, he growled angrily. He glared at Kiwook and rudely asked, “What do you want now? Why are you here?”

He had a bottle of whiskey in one hand and was drinking straight from it, his eyes were unfocused. His words were slurred too. It was clear he was not in his right mind.

Kiwook replied hesitantly, “I… about my mother…”

Sly grin appeared on President Shim’s face. Slowly, he replied, “Oh, you wanted to know about that, eh? Hmm…”

Kiwook felt uncomfortable, but he had no choice. He just had to know, so he asked, “So it’s true that she came to visit you?”

“She was hot.”

“What?”

“You resemble your mother. She was very sexy, but she was greedy too. Well, I guess that meant that we suit each other, haha.”

“Wh…at?”

“We slept together a few times. I mean, she is old, but still pretty hot, right?”

Kiwook flinched.

“…what?”

“But she started to show her true nature very soon. Her real intentions. She wanted whatever money you would make in the future and she was trying to use me to get to you. She was greedier than even me. I think that says it all, right?”

Kiwook trembled in anger as he murmured, “You…”

“So I threw her away.”

“Shut up.”

“Why? Didn’t you come here because you wanted to hear the truth? I can give you all the dirty details too.”

“I said SHUT UP!”

“Kiwook Noh… do you really think your mother is a saint? What a joke. She is the greediest and most selfish woman I have ever met. She sold herself to me, thinking she might be able to use your future success. She wants whatever money you might make if you debuted.”

“I… said stop.”

“Be careful of her. That woman will be the death of you someday. She will ruin you! Take my advice, Kiwook. I am giving it to you, man to man.”

“Shut up!”

President Shim grinned crookedly, and Kiwook couldn’t take it anymore. He ran towards him and punched the president in the face. President Shim was already drunk, so with just a single punch, he collapsed onto the sofa and lost consciousness immediately. When he wouldn’t wake up, Kiwook became scared. He called Hyojun, who came up quickly, along with some other trainees.

Hyojun checked the president’s pulse, and after he confirmed that President Shim was still breathing normally, he calmed Kiwook down. President Shim was just very drunk.

The other trainees promised to look after the president, so Hyojun and Kiwook finally left the room. When they did, Kiwook burst into tears and Hyojun watched him quietly. Hyojun knew there was nothing he could do right now, other than just be by Kiwook’s side. When Kiwook finally calmed down, and they were about to leave, they suddenly heard laughing and giggling from the president’s room.

When Hyojun and Kiwook walked in to check, they were shocked to see what was going on inside the room.

The trainees all hated the president for obvious reasons, so while he was unconscious on the sofa, they took his clothes off except for his underwear and took ridiculous photos of him.

When the trainees saw Kiwook and Hyojun, they stopped and slowly clothed the president again. The trainees left, and after about 20 minutes, the president woke up. Hyojun and Kiwook were still in the room, so President Shim murmured, “What’s going on? You…”

It seemed like he didn’t remember much, so Kiwook muttered to him to go back to sleep and both Kiwook and Hyojun left the room.

That was the last time they saw the president.

It was only recently that Kiwook and Hyojun learned their current agency President was a friend of President Shim. After that day, the embarrassing photos the trainees took were released, and President Shim was ridiculed mercilessly. He lost the respect of everyone in the industry and soon after, the rest of the trainees in his agency left. President Shim was also abandoned by the Lady, and soon after, he declared bankruptcy.

President Shim was ruined.

Recently, Kiwook realized that President Shim must blame him for everything. It wasn’t just the fact that Hyojun and Kiwook left the agency. It was those photos of him that made things much worse. He lost everything.

Still in his bed, Kiwook murmured, “I hate this.”

He had been wanting to forget that day, but it was impossible. It was agonizing to remember what started all his current problems. Whenever he closed his eyes, he re-lived it. It was like being forced to watch a bad movie over and over again.

“Such a huge price to pay for a single punch…”

Kiwook was so tired, yet he couldn’t fall asleep. If he heard any sounds outside, he would’ve gotten up with the excuse to check what was happening, but the house was dead quiet.

Kiwook murmured, “I wonder if… Hyoyoung is sleeping. Maybe not…?”

They were living in the same house, yet he couldn’t even see her as he wished. It was so frustrating. He wanted to talk to her… Hug her…
