Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Chapter 61

When Hyoyoung quietly called Jiwoo’s name, he fell silent and nervously turned towards her.

“Why, my Hyoyoung?”

Hyoyoung had an eerie look on her face and all the guys tensed up. She replied in a low voice, “Do you really not know what the problem is here? The problem you caused?”

Jiwoo replied cheerfully, trying to lighten the mood.

“Yup, I have no idea. I don’t understand.”

“Are you serious?”

“Hmm? Well, no…”

“Gosh…”

“Oh, come on, Hyoyoung. It’s all good! Everything is ok, right? Guys? Help me out here!”

Jiwoo turned to the other three members for help, but they all looked away. Hyoyoung replied quietly, “Oppa, it sounds like you really don’t understand what you just did, so I am going to explain it to you very slowly.”

Jiwoo nodded nervously.

“Ok, Hyoyoung…”

“First question. Whose friend is Mikyung?”

“You, Hyoyoung…”

“And who did Mikyung come here to see?”

“You, Hyoyoung…”

“Very good. Then second question. Who are you, Oppa?”

“Jiwoo Kang.”

“No, I mean, to the public.”

“I’m Red M.”

“Excellent. Now, I will change the line of questions since you got the basics down.”

“…”

“Now, let’s do true and false questions. First, is Red M someone whom the public can find out about, or not?”

“Not…”

“Second question. Is Mikyung like the biggest fan of The M, or not?”

“I think she is…”

“Third question. Can Mikyung find out your identity?”

“No.”

“And so if you appear in front of her all of a sudden, like you just did right now, will the chances of Mikyung finding out about your identity increase or decrease?”

“Increase…?”

“Is that a question or are you answering me?”

“Increase…”

“Good, you are starting to understand. Now, next question.”

“Umm, Hyoyoung…”

“When I go to school tomorrow, will Mikyung bug me about what happened tonight or not? About who she saw?”

“No…t…?”

“WRONG! Think about it again!”

“She will…”

“Then, will I have to lie to her, or not?”

“You will have to…”

“Perfect. Now, you are ready to put your thoughts into a single sentence. Tell me what you did wrong just now.”

“Umm… I appeared in front of your friend Mikyung unnecessarily which will cause Hyoyoung lots of problems to fix tomorrow.”

“Good boy, Jiwoo Oppa. Exactly.”

“Umm, Hyoyoung…”

“So you totally get it, yet why did you do it? If you used your head even just a little and thought just for a second, you would’ve known it was a bad idea!”

“I… I’m sorry, Hyoyoung.”

Jiwoo looked down apologetically as Hyoyoung closed her eyes. Hyojun was watching quietly, but when she closed her eyes, he whispered to Hyunsuk and Kiwook, “We need to get out of the way, right now!”

“Huh? Why?”

“She is about to explode. Can’t you see Hyoyoung is FURIOUS? This is getting really dangerous. It’s going to get ugly soon, so slowly and quietly, move away from her.”

Just as Hyojun, Kiwook, and Hyunsuk were stepping away slowly, Hyoyoung yelled, “SO! WHY?! JUST WHY?!”

Her voice was so loud and angry that Jiwoo almost fell to the floor again. The other three members flinched and froze on the spot.

Hyoyoung continued angrily at Jiwoo, “Oppa, why would you do something so stupid? Cause more and more problems? You are making my life so much harder than it has to be. All of you! Why do you keep creating trouble? Do you think apologizing to me afterward makes it okay? Because it doesn’t! Not at all! You are all grown-ups now! You are all older than me, so why are you doing this to me? Why are you all so childish and naive?”

All the members glanced anxiously at Hyoyoung. Because her focus was on Jiwoo, the other guys resumed backing away towards the door. Within a few seconds, Hyojun, Hyunsuk, and Kiwook were out of the room.

It was now just Jiwoo who looked terrified.

Hyoyoung ordered quietly, “Get out.”

“Hyoyoung…”

“Right now, Jiwoo Oppa. If you don’t leave now, I am going to hurt you real bad. Do you want that?”

“Nope. Okay, bye.”

Jiwoo ran out the door.

Within a few seconds, Hyojun returned to the basement and sat down next to Hyoyoung.

“Hey, Hyoyoung.”

“What? What do you want?”

“I’m sorry.”

“Are you crazy, you idiot?”

“Hey, come on, I’m still your older brother, so show some respect.”

“It’s because you are acting so differently than usual. I mean, in my entire life, you have never once apologized to me.”

“Really? Are you sure?”

“Are you serious? Do you want me to list the things you did to me again?”

“Was I…”

“You were what?”

Hyojun hesitated before asking nervously, “Was I that horrible? Was I such a bad older brother to you?”

Hyojun’s voice was so serious that Hyoyoung turned around to stare at him.

‘What the heck? Why is he looking at me like that? He is looking at me like…’

Kiwook. Hyojun was looking at Hyoyoung the way Kiwook did sometimes. Hyojun looked perfectly serious and genuine, making her feel nervous for some reason.

She replied, “Oh, I didn’t say you were bad.”

“But… you aren’t saying I was good either.”

“Oppa.”

“Hmm?’

“I like you.”

“Huh?”

“I am going to regret saying this, and I am about to die of embarrassment, but I think I need to say it at least once in my life. I have always felt safe because of you. Even when I got into a fight, or got bullied at school, I felt okay because I knew I could come home and you would be here for me. I mean, I know we have our parents, but they aren’t going to live forever, right? Just thinking about them gone upsets me, but I think I will be okay even then because you will be here with me. My older brother…I really believe that I am here and I turned out the way I am because of you, so…”

Suddenly, Hyojun murmured, “Idiot…”

“What did you say? Did you just call me an idiot?”

“Did you get food poisoning or something, Hyoyoung? Why are you suddenly so serious?”

When Hyojun lightly smacked Hyoyoung’s back, her face turned red. She stood up and yelled, “Oh my god! You are right. I am the idiot who thought being serious with you was a good idea. Fine, Hyojun Ahn! I will never say anything genuine to you again! You bastard! I’m going to bed now. I need to deal with Mikyung tomorrow, so I need my rest.”

Hyoyoung left the basement in annoyance, leaving Hyojun alone.

He sighed deeply and murmured, “So you like me as an older brother… As a family…”

Hyojun looked around her castle and remembered the memories they shared as children.

He remembered her telling him sweet things.

“Oppa! This is my very own castle! I wasn’t going to let anyone in, but I will let you enter since you are my oppa!”

“Oppa, I am so glad you are my brother.”

“Oppa, I am so relieved that you are on my side!”

“Oppa, play with me! I’m bored when you aren’t around.”

“Oppa, if I cry, you will make things okay, right?”

“Oppa, I really love you!”

He remembered her smiles, laughs, and tears. She depended on him as her older brother.

Hyojun murmured, “So, she wants an older brother and nothing more from me… But I don’t want to be her brother…I… I want to be…”

Suddenly, Hyunsuk came downstairs and replied, “Then become her sister.”

Hyojun looked up in shock.

“What the hell! Are you a ninja or something? Make some noise when you come near me! We need to put a bell around your neck.”

“It’s done. I got in contact with Myunghee and the ticket is planned to be delivered to her.”

“How?”

“Don’t worry about it. You don’t need to know the details. I am taking care of everything.”

“Do you think she will come?”

“Probably.”

“I’m not sure if this is such a good idea.”

“Me neither… but there is something else I need to talk to you about, Hyojun.”

“What is it?”

“IT’s about President Shim.”

“What about him?”

Hyunsuk sat down next to Hyojun.
