She involuntarily shook at the voice of the manager. Instinctively, she leaned on the man in front of her for support.

Mu Shaoqing could feel her desperation and saw at a glance what had happened.

Her gown was still wet. As for her face, she looked pale and drawn. In fact, his custom-made suit was creased as a result of her firm grip, but he did not mind at all.

The manager caught sight of Ning Youyou, who was now standing in front of Mu Shaoqing. “Hmph! Run! Run all you want! You should be thankful that I’m interested in you. Come to me now!”

Mu Shaoqing’s face darkened. With inscrutable countenance, he gave the manager of BLOVE a brief glare.

The manager was offended by the way he looked at him, so he rebuked, “Kid, don’t mess with me. Don’t you know who I am? Be smart and step aside.”

Mu Shaoqing responded with a mirthless grin on his face, “Excuse me, but I really don’t know who you are.”

Mu Shaoqing was more than just the chairman of Zhou Feng Corporation. He was also the founder of his business empire. As he was not fond of public attention, only very few people knew that he was the real boss who led the company. The manager was only an idle person-in-charge from one of the subsidiary companies, so it was certain that he had never met Mu Shaoqing before.

Ning Youyou stared at him anxiously. He looked very solemn, which was intimidating.

“Mu.”

All of a sudden, she could feel that something was hanging on her shoulders – a tailored jacket. It belonged to him.

The jacket was big enough to cover her entire body. With a sniff, she could smell the faint vanilla fragrance that was uniquely present on his jacket.

“I…”

“Wear it,” he insisted. With big strides, Mu Shaoqing then walked towards the manager.

The manager was flabby and short, which made him appear rather clumsy in front of Mu Shaoqing. “Hey, kid, what are you trying to do?” He uttered with nervous eagerness while eyeing Mu Shaoqing warily.

“What am I trying to do?” Mu Shaoqing cracked his fingers while looking down at the frightened man. It was certainly intimidating.

The manager became paralyzed by his flinty stare. His face was immediately drained of its color.

“You…”

Mu Shaoqing clenched his fist and struck the manager’s face with a heavy blow. He fell to the ground almost immediately and began screaming in pain.

“Let’s talk this out! Please don’t hit me!” He pleaded. Mu Shaoqing pummelled him furiously with his fists, leaving him no chance to strike back.

“Stop! Please don’t hit me! This is all a misunderstanding!”

“Help!”

With both arms wrapped around his head, the manager was so paralyzed with fear that he became incoherent. The only thing that he could utter was to ask for help.

The manager’s desperate call for help finally pulled Ning Youyou back from her preoccupation. Hastily, she pulled Mu Shaoqing back to stop him from causing the man more harm.

“Stop! Don’t fight!”

Although the man was guilty of improper behavior, he was still the manager of BLOVE, whose position was far superior to a bodyguard. That said, he could easily get him into trouble by accusing him of inflicting injuries on a senior executive. She also knew that the manager had some connections with the people of Zhou Feng Corporation.

Mu Shaoqing was ready to strike another blow but was soon hindered by Ning Youyou. After a while, he finally let his hand down.

“After what he’s done to you, are you seriously going to show him mercy?” Mu Shaoqing was displeased by her interruption.
