“Director Su, we’re here to discuss our work,” Xiao Hong was the first to clarify the situation.

Su Tingting relapsed into her usual indifference.

“Oh, is that so?” She purposely stretched the pronunciation of the last word for some dramatic effect.

Xiao Hong and Xiao Lan quickly nodded in unison.

Su Tingting cast a scornful look at them. “Is your manager here?” She gently asked.

“Yes,” they answered in unison again.

Su Tingting found her way into the manager’s office in a very alluring and sexy manner.

Before Xiao Lan could say anything, Su Tingting abruptly turned her head around and looked at them. Xiao Lan had no choice but to put on a fake smile.

“By the way, the annual ball will be held in three days. You should be more courteous. Don’t embarrass BLOVE the same way you did last time,” Su Tingting displayed arrogant contempt before she finally entered the manager’s office.

Xiao Hong honestly had no idea how to retort the humiliation.

“After all, she has the manager to back her up. Being next to a manager of BLOVE puts her in a favorable position. Look at us. On the contrary, we’re still here wondering who to invite to the dinner. This is how wide the gap is between us.”

 Xiao Lan had nothing else to say.

“I’ve thought of something!”

Xiao Hong suddenly raised her voice, which caught Ning Youyou and Xiao Lan completely off guard.

“That was frightening! Can’t you speak more calmly? Did you really have to roar at us?”

Apologetically, Xiao Hong smiled at them. She then took a careful look at their surroundings before moving closer to Ning Youyou and Xiao Lan. “It’s only for a night, anyway. Shall we get the boys from a nightclub to go with us?” She spoke very softly for the sake of secrecy.

There was a significant pause while they tried to digest what she had just uttered.

The idea was to hire men from a nightclub to keep them company for the ball. These men had a wide range of services that involved different price points. If they could afford it, they could have it.

“Sounds like a plan! I need a muscular man to make me look like a timid and loveable woman,” Xiao Lan echoed.

Ning Youyou remained unmoved. She kept her countenance, though she could not completely agree with the blatantly implausible idea.

It seemed like there was no way she could escape the annual ball. However, finding a partner was still a major problem. She could not possibly look for a man from a nightclub just to get by under pretenses.

She hated to admit it, but that seemed like her best shot for the time being.

It was already 7:30 in the evening. As twilight deepened, the night began to fall on them. 

Ning Youyou still found it beyond her belief that she actually agreed to do it. There she stood, right at the entrance of a nightclub, along with Xiao Lan and Xiao Hong.

Is it really necessary to pay for a man just to show up for the evening? She could not help but hesitate at the decision.

On her way to the nightclub, she had thought about some of the options that she had; Yi Beichen was the best one that she could think of thus far. He would surely agree to help if she asked him to. However, there was no good reason that she could think of to convince him to go to the ball with her. After all, he was the owner of Sheng Shi Corporation. They would become the subject of much local gossip if they attended the ball together.

In order to keep his name unblemished, she decided not to ask him at all. Since there was no one else to ask, the next best shot that she had was in the nightclub.

All three of them walked into the club together, but much to Ning Youyou’s displeasure, there seemed to be no escape from the ubiquitous cigarette smoke in her surroundings. It was also a messy place to begin with.

They went straight into the center of the nightclub and found the supervisor. Without wasting any time, Xiao Lan took the lead and explained that the reason for their visit was to look for personal services.

The supervisor took a glance at them before leading them into another room.
