“Your Majesty, since ancient times, we have never used a mediocre person for official duties. Now is not the time to select officials or host the imperial examination, either. A wise ruler should not treat the empire’s government like a child’s play!”

The minister might sound like he was targeting Liu Bichen with his words, but anyone could tell that he was reprimanding Jun Zishu. After all, just because the empress favored a man, she couldn’t just let him interfere in government affairs. It was simply foolish and reckless to do such a thing.

“I am not using a mediocre person. He is the son of a scholar, and he was known for his knowledge from a young age.
