Chapter 38: Rest in the village of Bulle

Corleone and the three of them walked for nearly half a day in the direction indicated by the robber before, and they found a small village. The cunning robber did not lie about it.

They walked outside the gate of the village and were stopped by two militiamen. One of them was a young militiaman with a pimples and asked carelessly: "What do you guys do? What is the purpose of coming to our village?"

Fakner stepped forward and just wanted to talk, when he was pointed at with a short spear by the opposing militiaman.

"I warn you strangers, don't get close, and answer my questions honestly!"

Fackney could only stop there reluctantly, and said to him: "We are mercenaries from small countries in the south. We plan to make a little money in the land of no masters. Can you let us go in and rest for one night? I want to rent a mount at that time."

And the reason why Fackney said they are mercenaries is because in this land, mercenaries can find more job opportunities and have a better reputation than adventurers, probably?

The militiaman looked at Fackner and the others up and down, and felt that these guys looked no different from the pauper, but he thought that it would be a fortune to make a fortune, so he said:

"Well, you can also enter the village. Each person has to pay 2 silver coins. You can only stay for one night."

"What! This is too expensive, we really don't have that money, what do you think of 10 copper coins per person?"

The acne-faced militia hesitated for a while and then said, "Okay, everyone pays 10 copper coins."

After paying the money, Corleone walked into this small village.

This small village is surrounded by low walls made of stone, and most of the villagers’ houses are low houses made of a mixture of masonry and stone, with roofs made of red tiles.

After all, the most indispensable thing in this desert is stones.

Among the red roof tiles, a tall stone tower can be seen in the center of the village, with a striking silver rooster on top of the tower.

Near the tower, there are two precious wells, but there is also a small wooden shed next to the well, which is guarded by two villagers.

Corleone and they walked into the village and found that these villagers were not "hospitable" at all, but most of them had a bleak look, and a few villagers looked a little bit "cruel".

And after they left the gate of the village, the pimples-faced militiaman and his companion laughed and chatted.

"Here are three more mercenaries dreaming of getting rich. Obviously, they only need to pay 5 copper coins, but they gave 30 copper coins all at once. Haha, what a fool."

"Okay, you got cheap and so much nonsense, stand on your post."

At this time, Corleone and the others didn't know where to go. They wanted to ask the villagers, but most of the villagers avoided them when they saw them. At this time, an old man walked towards them.

The old man was wearing gray linen and asked them: "Are you here to buy and sell supplies, or rent mounts?"

Fakner hurried forward and replied: "Old man, we want to stay in your village for one night, and we will rent a few camels and leave tomorrow morning."

The old man looked at them with muddy eyes, and then asked, "Is it better to buy things or rent a camel?"

Now Corleone and the others are a bit dazed, they don't know what's going on.

Fortunately, a child ran up next to him, repeating what Fackney had said loudly to the old man.

Then the kid said to them quickly: "Sorry, my grandpa is a little hard-earned, just speak louder."

After listening to the children, the old man said to them: "You can live in the village, but there are a few empty houses. If you charge a fee, you can count 80 copper coins a night."

"If you rent another camel, you will get 20 copper coins a day for a camel. If you don't want to ride a camel when you arrive in town, you can just give it to the Belem Tower Chamber of Commerce store, and they will send the camel back."

"By the way, you guys, show me the mercenary certificate or the adventurer certificate, otherwise you won't be able to rent camels to you."

Now Corleone is dumbfounded. They are not real mercenaries or adventurers. Where is there any proof that they can only go to Scone on foot?

Bao stabbed Fackney with his elbow, and asked him to think of a solution.

Fakner could only shout helplessly: "Sorry, old man, our mercenary proved to be lost, please see if you can accommodate it."

The old man picked his ears and said impatiently: "Why are you shouting so loudly? Old man, I am not deaf. Since there is no proof, I am sorry that I cannot lend you a camel."

"You have paid the money for the room now, and I will let my grandson take you to where you live."

After the old man had finished speaking, he left without regard to the few people in front of him.

A few people could only look at each other helplessly, and then the little child bounced around and led them to a dilapidated little house, where no one could see that there was no one inhabited.

The kid said as he walked: "My grandfather is the head of this village. He sleeps very late every day. If you have any problems, you can only find him in the afternoon and evening."

Corleone asked curiously: "What's your name, kid?"

"Big brother, my name is Dick. If you want to buy food, you can come to our house to buy it. Other villagers won't sell you food. They don't have enough food by themselves."

"And if you really want to rent a camel, you can ask the Jesses family, they secretly provide rental services to some ‘bad guys’, although the price is a lot more expensive."

One-eyed Pauly joked: "Little Dick, how did we become bad guys? We are good guys. We just killed a group of robbers."

"Wow, UU reading www.uukanshu.com is real, can you tell me about your experience?" Then Pauly chatted with little Dick.

And Corleone and Facknet looked at the inside of the house. The small house on this floor has only one bedroom, and the living room and kitchen are connected together. It doesn't matter to them, as long as there is a place to sleep.

Next, Facknet lay down on the simple wooden bed, dozing off, while Corleone continued to practice his swordsmanship.

Little Dick was listening there with great interest, and didn't want to go home anymore, until it was getting dark outside, he shouted and ran out.

said to them as they ran, "I'll get you some dried camel dung and quilts!"

At this time, Pauly smashed his mouth and took out a piece of jerky from the bag made of animal fur, but the jerky was stinking, and several people didn't want to eat what was in front of them.

Corleone asked Fackney, "Uncle Fackney, how much money do we have?"

"Well, let me count... There are 6 silver coins and 27 copper coins. I'd better go to the kid's house and buy some food."

Baoli said: "Okay, then we will wait for you here."

Fakner got up from the bed and walked towards the door. You can see that the village has basically become dark, and there are not many torches.

A few kilometers away from the village, hundreds of running figures and less than ten cavalry appeared. The leader was a thin man in a black trench coat. He was riding a black giant horse the size of a horse.

The other cavalry also rode giant rats, but they were all gray fur, and they were a little smaller than the black rats.

Around the man in the windbreaker, more than a hundred people are holding a variety of weapons and running along with the black rat.
