84. The Shining Morning Star

Destiny shall not be breached. This was never merely a saying. There were things that were predetermined by fate. Probably from the very beginning when he had decided to save this disciple, some change had been triggered, just like he had never figured that this disciple should one day be tied with the Emperor Star.

Jiu Dengdan took a deep look at Du Chuxuan. It occurred to him that only the ignorant could be utterly fearless, and that this might to him be a good thing, “Unfilial son! How dare you to mock your shifu! Watch out for my blow!”

He clapped his hands and drew out from his pocket a small handkerchief to carefully wipe them, “The boy who gave you medicine soup is a nice one. I can see his thoughtfulness.”

Jiu Dengdan wandered in the world all year round and learned something of everything. Certainly, he also learned some pharmaceutical knowledge. Looking from the beam, he only knew his stupid disciple had been stabbed, but when he touched the wound, he was much relieved. Seeing Du Chuxuan opened his mouth to say something, which couldn’t be nice, he hurriedly interrupted.

“I won’t say too much, but recently a Morning Star has risen in the direction of the capital. It shines with extraordinary brilliance, quite capable to compete with the Emperor Star. I told you so only because I want you to be careful. After all, you’re on the side of the Crown Prince now.”

The master shifu and disciple both knew who the Emperor Star referred to. The Emperor, as the son of heaven, already outshone the sun and the moon, so there couldn’t be a star to represent his fate. The Emperor Star always referred to the possible candidate of the throne.

Du Chuxuan knew a little about astrology, but just a little. However, he understood what the Morning Star meant, so his shfu’s words gave him a shock, “Recently… You mean the star didn’t exist here before?”

Jiu Dengdan laughed, “I’ve observed the Emperor Star before from afar, but it has nothing to do with me, so I never cared the stars near him. Probably there has been this Morning Star in the first place, but it truly begins to shine dazzlingly since lately.”

He wasn’t lying. He led a roaming life in Wulin and did everything of his free mind. Hadn’t his own disciple married Yuxing Tianrui, he wouldn’t have observed the fortune of the Emperor Star.

Du Chuxuan naturally understood this and became a little nervous on the moment. When the Morning Star shone brightly, it would very likely compete against the Emperor Star. The world would only have one emperor, so the two men the stars representing couldn’t co-exist. However, who was this Morning Star referring to? Or were things like what he had in mind?

Of course he didn’t tell Jiu Dengdan his thought. Taking a deep breath, he calmed down and took a glance at Jiu Dengdan, “I think you’ve finished your speech. Shouldn’t you go?”

A straightforward sign for the guest to leave. But if Jiu Dengdan was able to take the hint, he wouldn’t have made people not miss him at all whenever he went. Jiu Dengdan sat on the bedside, arms crossed, in a posture of what-are-you-going-to-do-with-me. Du Chuxuan couldn’t help rolling his eyes.

After being teased by Du Chuxuan in the morning, now Yuxing Tianrui was in the study. He, as the Crown Prince, although given a day off, had his duties to complete. Over there, when Ada heard Dongxiang had lunch to be fetched, Yuxing Tianrui sorted things out and prepared to eat together with Du Chuxuan.

In the East Palace, there were altogether two masters, and Yuxing Tianrui was the biggest one. Therefore, when seeing him, everyone just curtsied to him without verbal greetings. On this account, when Yuxing Tianrui pushed open the doors, he thought there was an assassin again.

Du Chuxuan wasn’t aware Yuxing Tianrui was back until he already reached the door. Then, when he turned around and saw the easy manner of Jiu Dengdan, he couldn’t help but grit his teeth with anger. The man was way better a cultivator than Du Chuxuan, but he hadn’t reminded him or planned to leave. Obviously, he intended to meet Yuxing Tianrui.

Ada responded quickly and immediately stood in front of Yuxing Tianrui, “Who are you?”

Jiu Dengdan lazily ate a piece of refreshment from Du Chuxuan’s plate. To some extent, the two had shocking similarity in their demeanor and expression, “Oh my baby boy, drop it. Don’t hurt yourself.”

He seemed to think of the palace as his own house and gave Yuxing Tianrui a glance, “I guess you’re the Crown Prince. Seeing is believing. Your Highness is truly handsome and splendid.”

Du Chuxuan’s eyes twitched a little at the corners. This old guy must have sensed the breath of Luo Yi and the others so that he said flattering things. Otherwise, heaven knows what would come out of that mouth.

Judging from Du Chuxuan’s attitude, Yuxing Tianrui figured this man was one of his acquaintances, and he was about to stop Ada, when he suddenly saw Du Chuxuan lying in bed with an aggrieved face as if he had suffered a monstrous act. At once, Yuxing Tianrui became nervous.

He hurriedly pushed Ada away and walked out, “Gentleman, nice to meet you, but here is the imperial palace after all. You may have sent a letter first if you wish to visit us.”

“Ha. Interesting.” Jiu Dengdan didn’t notice yet that he was set up by his disciple and was quite smug, “But I’m here to visit my disciple.”

He, as a wanderer, never cared about the business of state or the feuds in Wulin and truly led a free life. Therefore, he also had no fear towards the imperial power. The worst case scenario was him leaving immediately, wasn’t it?

Hearing this, Ada came to the realization that this man was very likely Du Chuxuan’s shifu. Du Chuxuan was a good cultivator already, and now, meeting with his shifu, Ada started to understand what was real power. For a time, he was intrigued to exchange a few moves with him.

“Your Highness, don’t believe his craps! He’s a bad guy. When I woke up, I saw him standing on the beam and watching me with his salacious eyes. If I wasn’t quick, he would have done a brutal thing to me!”

Du Chuxuan had a complacent smile on his lips. ‘Have a taste of the jealousy from my vinegar jar. Mind you that this tsundere boy wouldn’t give you a good time.’

Undoubtedly, Yuxing Tianrui could tell Du Chuxuan was faking it. How could a man like him be taken advantaged by others? But at the thought that this man was his shifu, an unimaginably important person to him, Yuxing Tianrui couldn’t stop himself from being jealous, so he replied, “Ada, well receive this gentleman, and let him know the rules of the palace!”
