26. Exchange Blows

Suddenly asked by Du Chuxuan, Yuxing Tianrui’s face flushed scarlet.

This damn woman. She knew why. Didn’t she know what he was going to say?

If father and mother knew she kept flirting with other men all day long, she would be directly declared of guilty of Great Disrespect and be severely punished. Lucky for her that he was kind and decided to forgive her!

In view that the prince didn’t reply after a long while, Du Chuxuan looked up and saw his angry face, yet with teeth gently biting his lower lip. The look made him want to bully the child at once.

Caught by surprise by the sudden picture in his mind, Du Chuxuan quickly poured himself a cup of tea, as if to disguise something, but choked a little because the tea was too hot.

Yuxing Tianrui glanced at him, nonchalantly took a seat at the table. The meaning was obvious. Du Chuxuan put down the cup and was amused by this scene, ‘obediently’ serving him a cup of tea anyway.

Yuxing Tianrui was satisfied by her obedience, then pursed his lips, motioning to Du Chuxuan to sit down. Seeing the prince was equally relaxed as him, Du Chuxuan gritted his teeth inwardly. The prince really didn’t regard himself as an outsider.

“So why are you here, Your Highness?” Even if he had something to tell Yuxing Tianrui, he simply wanted to see Yuxing Tianrui in a fluster. He bet that this time Yuxing Tianrui couldn’t make out a reason why he pissed off. Now Du Chuxuan would like to see how he would deal with it.

Yuxing Tianrui choked on the question but, as a well-trained prince, quickly calmed down, “What on earth is your relationship with Yang Guang?” Worried that Du Chuxuan might overestimate herself, he quickly added, “I’m just warning you to be aware of your identity.”

Du Chuxuan slightly frowned, unable to understand how Yuxing Tianrui’s brain worked. He took a deep breath. After all, he didn’t want Yuxing Tianrui to ruin his sister’s fame. After all, he was the person that he had to spend his life with long into the future, “Your Highness is thinking too much. You’re the only person who has my heart.”

When saying this, he kept pinching on his thigh. No way! You stupid half-hearted man! Count on a woman to be whole-hearted to you? Go and figure who the girl you’re in love with is!

Anyway, appeased by the words, Yuxing Tianrui began to be less angry, though his words were still relentless, “Of course I know that. As long as you’re well-behaved, I can keep you safe.”

Finishing this, he got up and planned to leave, when Du Chuxuan pulled him back immediately.

Yuxing Tianrui panicked and hurriedly drew back his hands. Du Chuxuan couldn’t help pouting. Why was he being such an innocent chaste girl? He was going to give him a big surprise okay?

“I’ve something to report, Your Highness.” He lowered his voice. He only dared to report here in his own tent. Although he had no idea of the ability of Yuxing Tianrui’s close guards, he knew their tents were best protected. If he couldn’t report it here, then the secret could only rot in his belly.

Yuxing Tianrui was a little surprised and looked at her thoughtfully. Just now, he hadn’t been totally sane and pulled her back, irritated by the scene. Now, calming down, he almost couldn’t believe what he had done. However, Du Chuxuan said she had something to report?

“Go ahead.” Without moving his footsteps, Yuxing Tianrui stood at where he was, obviously not taking serious of what Du Chuxuan was going to report.

Du Chuxuan didn’t mind his attitude, stepping forward to the side of the tent to make sure there weren’t ears, and began in a low voice, “Don’t you think General Yang won too easily?” He never learned the art of roundabout speech and always hit the point straightforwardly.

Scrutinizing intently Du Chuxuan for a long while and confirming that he wasn’t kidding, Yuxing Tianrui slowly sat back again, obviously intending to learn carefully, “I don’t have expertise in this regard. Did you see anything unusual?”

There might still be a few spies in the barracks. Such a thing was unavoidable, which Yuxing Tianrui knew very well. The education he received was all about power and balance.

One of the most important principle was that there wouldn’t be fish when the water was completely clear. Therefore, he never aimed to eliminate all spies.

As long as no big trouble was stirred or their actions were under his control, in his view, these spies could stay. Nonetheless, he never suspected that Yang Guang was also a spy for the Turks.

“Do you know the identity of Yang Guang?” Yuxing Tianrui looked Du Chuxuan in the eye, wishing to figure whether she had been provoked by someone or for some other reasons.

Du Chuxuan was blank for a while and quickly thought of the fact that all those with ranks in the capital covered up for one another. The dukedom or other titles were hereditary. Was Yang Guang a descendant of a renown important general?

“How could I know?” He smiled awkwardly, spreading his hands and waiting for Yuxing Tianrui to explain to him.

Judging from her look, she really didn’t seem to know it. On this, Yuxing Tianrui was a little relieved. Du Chuyue was merely a woman and accompanied by Dongxiang everyday. Her every action was under his watch, and there weren’t strange people who could approach her.

At once, he chose to believe her, which affected what would happen next. He explained, “Yang Guang is the second son of the Yang family in the capital. Three years ago, he joined the army to guard the borders, working all the way up from an ordinary soldier to what he was now by military feats.”

As expected, Yang Guang had a good family background. Du Chuxuan smacked his lips. What the capital city had weren’t rich people but powerful people. Many huge mansions appearing to be glorious were actually empty shells. Otherwise, this second lord Yang wouldn’t have come to the borders at a young age and colluded with the enemy.

Du Chuxuan understood that mere words wouldn’t make Yuxing Tianrui believe him at once. Rolling his eyes, he came up with an excellent idea, “Your Highness, would you like to exchange blows with me, without using weapons?”

Meanwhile, he already kicked away chairs, elbows up in a defensive posture.

Yuxing Tianrui’s lips twitched. How could he, a man, fight against a woman?
