Marvel: Starting From The Bottom

All of them are at least mid-beta level… if not peak. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't have fought them. 

But now, I have my ways.

"As long as you can defeat them, I will gladly join you." She is a sadist… But I am no mȧsȯċhɨst.

"You don't mind if I kill them… right?" Her smile grew wide.

Selene has zero empathy. She doesn't care who lives or who dies. I don't either, but at least I have two people that I care about… while she has none.

Kinda sad but it's none of my concern.

"Go ahead." That's all I needed to hear as my nails turned into claws. Seeing the development, Selene's smile grew massive.

Without delay, I rushed towards one of the minions who didn't have much time to react as my claws dug into his flesh, ripping him apart.

I tried my claws on other things but never on a human… this is my first try.

The minions swarmed me but unfortunately for them… I was far more agile than them.

By the time one of them got closer to me, two others were already beheaded. 

I didn't let them activate their abilities… if they had any. It would be foolish to let them power up.

Their moves were not bad, but thanks to Zheng Zu's training I had sort of a precognition skill when it came to martial arts. I could react to anything as long as it is below the speed of sound and waves.

Before long the bodies of the minions laid on the floor… dead.

I can easily react to things when they are slower than the mentioned factors. But that is only true when I am against one or two opponents. If I am against a horde of opponents who can move at that speed… then it will be troublesome.

"*Clap* *Clap* *Clap* That was an interesting match… But do you think you can escape this place?" Her question was logical. She could kill me with a flick of her fingers.

"That I can. And I will show you how… as long as you promise to keep the end of your bargain." She smiled. 

"Very well then… I will see you in the club, your majesty." I said with a wink before vanishing from her sight.

"He teleported!"

[[Betty Avery]]

"So you were unable to find Marc and Silver?" The Jester's voice came from behind his mask.

"I didn't find them." No point in lying. 

"Excellent!" He said and started to laugh. 

"Huh?" He happy that I was unable to find them... Why? "You sound… happy?"

"That I am, sweetie." This guy is impossible to understand. "You didn't understand... now, did you?" He said looking at my confused face.

"That means they are extremely skilled at hiding… which is an excellent skill when it comes to the ȧssassination games." He chuckled. "You have a long way to go Betty."

I see now. The reason for his happiness.

"Where is Domino?" 

"She is training with the ninja boys." A sigh escaped me. "She is hooked to the katanas."

"Is that so… It doesn't matter. She just needs to train and the rest will go her way." True, her luck is insane. But there are some instances when her luck doesn't work.

"So, how are we going to recruit those two." If we can't even find them… How can we hope to get them to our side.

"I will find them. I have my ways." Not very ȧssuring… but then again, he has done a lot of impossible things. And gathering information about these three, when there wasn't even any previous information… He has completed some really difficult tasks.

It is even possible that he already knows their location and has someone tailing them.

"And we might get another member… pretty soon." 

Yes, he is a total anomaly.

James lost his son… Once again. He didn't know what he could do. He was lost.

"I lost my wife… and now my son was kidnapped." 

He was sitting near a lake. But the beautiful scenery did little to nothing to heal his heart.

"No! I cannot give up. A family was all I had but now it's shattered." He clenched his fists. "But my son is alive… I am alive. I can still rebuild my family."

"You look depressed, young man." An old man approached James.

'I didn't sense him?!?' He frowned. "Who are you, old man?!" 

The old man smiled. "Just a man looking for inspiration." 

"Inspiration?" James was cautious.

"Inspiration to draw. I love drawing…  it helps to express our emotions well." 

James didn't trust the man but still didn't say anything else.

"So, what got a young man like you depressed?" James almost laughed when the old man called him young.

"Just some family issues." He didn't want to tell the truth as the fact that he couldn't sense the man was worrisome. "A little bit bigger than the normal ones."

The old man adopted a kind smile. "Family problems are very common. But those problems can turn worse if you ignore them." He took out an art-book and started making sketches. "Death is the only time when something can be considered too late to solve. Before that, it is never too late."

James looked at the man. "What do you mean, old man?" 

The man replied while making his sketches. "I don't know what happened to you, young man. But I do know that if you don't make a move fast… you might regret it later." 

James thought about the things he said before asking. "But I do not know where to look. I am lost." 

The man still had the same kind smile on his face. "The best place to look for something that you lost… is the place from where you started."

James was about to say something but suddenly his eyes widened in realization. "T-Thank you, old man!" 

"So you finally figured it out?" He asked and James nodded.  

"I need to go now. I need to find my son." James said before running away… even without asking for his name.

Unknown to him. The man was drawing a picture of him in his Wolverine form.

If someone were to look at the signature below the sketch… The name 'Jack Kirby' would have been easily visible.

"May you find your son, little one."
