Chapter 115: Clash of Cops (8)

"You sound surprised for a near-goner. Let's go now if you don't want to be a true-goner." Wyatt grabbed Jasper, wrapping his arms around his body. More ice thurst at them. Wyatt started evading the ice.

Jasper remained in Wyatt's arms, being carried like a baby. "H-how are you not dead?" he asked, quizzical.

Wyatt dashed right. "I have a hardening ability. I lost one of my kidneys, yes, but," he spun, dodging a flying speck of ice, "I'm able to live without it."

Jasper had fumbled. "What about t-the huge hole in your body ... where'd it go?"

Wyatt kicked off the wall. "I closed it," he dodge an ice spike, "with," he dodged another, "my ability," he caught a third ice spike, catching it and crushing it with his palm all while carrying Jasper.

"How'd you do that? Do you have two abilities? A healing one?" Jasper asked.

Wyatt started sprinting, feeling the cold ice under his hardened feet. "I hardened my wounded muscles, tissues and flesh until the point where they bulked. When they bulked excessively," he leaped, "my wounds were temporarily closed," he landed, skating. "But just like the rest of my body, the hardening will disappear upon the deactivation or even refocusing of my ability.

"I have used it to close the wounds of my upper and lower torso. This should also provide protection. And I'm using hardening," he kicked a forthcoming ice spike to pieces, "on my legs and feet. That means I'm at my max. I can't protect anywhere else. We need to be careful. But we'll do this together."

Jasper nodded, and furrowed his brows. "Yeah!"

Wyatt smiled. "Forget about the past. We'll fight together. You're the last Non-S-Rank officer, consider yourself lucky."

"I-"

Wyatt looked up. He was able to spot Jin falling from the sky, and about to attack Joan. "There! The kid's closing in on Joan, armed. We need to knock Joan out before she freezes innocence citizens to death. But we don't need her dead. We need to stop the boy."

Wyatt bolted toward Joan. There was a spiraling motion of faulting, twisting, expanding and bending ice around her. It would be dangerous for one to go near the source of such an outburst of power.

Jasper stuttered. "W-Wyatt? What are you doing? Why are we going in there? The ice will kill us both!"

Wyatt, brows furrowed, sprinted for the source of the outburst, determined. "Jasper," he said, "swallow your fear. It is better to die a warrior than a coward."

Jasper fumbled. They were going straight for the outburst. He sniffled, his eyes filling with moisture. He quickly wiped away a tear as soon as it had came out. "I'll fight," he said, "to the end!"

Wyatt leaped into the air. He burst through layers of ice coming his way, clenching his teeth. As he burst through ice, he forced his body to extend his hardening despite being at his limit. He hardened both his hands, blood running from his nostrils. He then started speed punching all while sprinting, dodging, and bursting through ice.

An ice spike had penetrated Jasper's back. He groaned. Then another. Wyatt's face suffered from scratches and swollen skin from chunks of ice crashing into his skin. He had realized that Jasper was getting hurt. He constantly heard his feminine groans and moans.

He quickly grabbed Jasper from his back, and spun in the air and threw him with all his mustered might, hurling his body away from the ice storm.

Japser pushed out her hand as he went pitching away from Wyatt. "WYATTT!!!!"

Jin spun in the air; he was only a few meters away from the ground. He rippled through the thin air, bursting down toward Joan, his hair blowing from the wind.

He had a new weapon skill unlocked, one obtained after his recent onslaught on the officers.

[Weapon special attack (Gama Explosion) upon next blow]

Jin spun in the air, dodging a thrusting protrusion of ice. Then, he spun left like a plane in air combat and dashed, dodging another. Adrenaline coursed through his veins as he felt the thrill of the battle. His dagger slowly manifested in his hand. He bent his knees, and raised his legs almost in a sitting position, soaring through the air while raising his radiating dagger with both his hands.

Jin crashed down on Joan; thrusting his dagger at her head. When suddenly Wyatt had pushed Joan out of the way, taking the fatality for her. Jin released his dagger; and dashed upward, propelling a meter in the air and falling back down to the ground: all momentum and the strong forces of gravity that was pulling him down had faded after he'd done so.

Jin, however, was not affected. He made a flawless landing pose, smacking a fist into the ground, and landing on a single knee.

[Weapon special attack (Gama Explosion) upon next blow]

"Fuck," Jin cursed. "How'd the attack not trigger? Does the system have bugs or something?"

Wyatt had collapsed, a loud tud sounding.

Quite a familiar occurrence was transpiring at a highly protected building. It one of the highest bureaucratic buildings. A strange facility. And in this building, loitered over one thousand clones. One thousand clones of none other than Hel himself.

Hel pulled his fist out of the Great Rendell's head; and grinned widely. Rendell slowly collapsed, body crashing to the floor. Hel began to laugh antagonistically. "If I didn't enjoy killing you, then maybe killing the world ought to be more fun! Fighting a world where almost everyone possesses magic!"

Suddenly, a blue shockwave left Rendell's body from

the time he had died. Since he had died; the spell he had cast on the world did too. A shockwave escaped his body and spanned across the room and continued to widen. It stretched across the entire city in no time. Everyone it came in contact with, glowed. This outburst of energy would span across the entire globe in but minutes alone.

Hel, blood dripping from his hand, began to float. His eyes had darkened. His hair blowed behind him. "The End of the world begins!"

Jasper remained on his knees. He watched Wyatt push Joan out of the way, and stand in her spot just in time before Jin crashed down. Jin had crashed down, his dagger thrusting into Wyatt's unprotected head. Then Jin had landed.

Wyatt had remained standing, the dagger lingering in his brain. Blood trickling down his forehead. Then he began to sway. He slowly leaned backward until he had collapsed. A tud had broken the silence.

Jasper's eyes gaped. Everything had gone silent for a brief moment. He heard nothing—saw nothing, other than Wyatt's body. His blood thundering in his ears. His heart slamming into his chest.

How could this happen? Why did Wyatt have to die? Wasn't he a good, brave man who deserved better?

Thoughts came back to Jasper, flooding his mind. The human body too porous as containment to keep them internalized. Jasper clenched his teeth as the voices quickened.

You're nothing, Jasper!

Did you hear anyone? Is that how he speaks? So softly? More like a Casper to me!

You little twerp!

You always mess things up, Jasper!

Why are you such a waste of my god damn sperm!?

You piece of trash!

I need some fucking backup! Where'd Japser go running off to? The fucking Casper!

Why don't you just dig a hole and go die in it?

His ability is so much trash! I'd rather have none than to have his!

His fire doesn't even get bigger than Miss Tiffany's arse, and she's one flat chick!

He can't even fight!

He doesn't know how to shoot a gun.

YOU'RE TRASH, JASPER, YOU HEAR ME?

KILL YOURSELF!

KILL YOURSELF!

Japser gripped some of his hair with his hands.

YOU'RE NOTHING, JASPER!

He clenched his teeth.

YOU SELLOUT COP!

A vein appeared at his right temple. "Shut up ..."

YOU HEAR ME?

He shook his head. "Shut up, shut up ..."

YOU SHOULD JUST QUIT YOUR JOB SINCE YOU CAN'T DO SHIT!

Jasper started pulling on his hair. "Shut up!"

I HEARD YOU'VE TRIED KILLING YOURSELF A FEW TIMES. WHEN ARE YOU GONNA GROW THE BALLS TO PULL THAT TRIGGER, HUH, JASPER!?

He shook his head, and ripped out some of his curly hair. Then he clenched his teeth and ripped out some more. "SHUT. UP!" his tone rose.

YOUR MOTHER KILLED HERSELF? WELL OF COURSE SHE DID, I WOULD'VE DONE THE SAME DAMN THING IF I WERE HER. NO WAY I COULD COPE WITH SUCH A WORTHLESS SON.

He started to pluck out his hair, relentlessly. His scalp was bleeding. Veins popped up on his skin. His eyes grew red. Tears ran down his flushed cheeks. His skin tinged. His face scrunched with rage. His heart constantly exploded.

"I said ..." as a shockwave spanned accross the area; he felt a surge of power: hidden power being tapped into and awakened, bounding with his body as if natural. "Shut," he furrowed his brows, "THE FUCK," orange, radiating veins ran up his skin, "UUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPP!!!!"

A humongous, nuclear explosion of flesh-eating, sputtering, raging, flames had erupted spanning accross the floor, and burning it all to nothing but remnants and ash.
