Chapter 9.1

There are 10 slots in the personal warehouse; each slot can hold up to 100 pieces of the same item. If you concentrate on finding the 10 most useful things, then try to stock up on those 10 items only; it means you’re not using your warehouse effectively.

For example, inside Su Han’s personal warehouse right now, 10 rolls of bandages, 5 boxes of anti-inflammatory drugs, and 2 slingshots occupied 3 slots. But if she puts all those things into an empty backpack and then puts the bag in her warehouse, she’ll only need to use 1 slot. There’s no way a backpack will be packed with just those 3 things, which means she still has space to put other stuff.

Of course, after putting something in, the backpack cannot be stacked, so she can only put 1 bag in 1 slot.

In a sense, this is abandoning the quantitative advantage of the personal warehouse and replacing it with space reserves. Same item restriction will no longer exist! She can put chocolates, candies, ham, milk, and brown bread all in one bag, and the bigger the backpack, the more things she can put in.

Almost instantly, Su Han thought of an even better idea. She can use large storage boxes instead of backpacks.

Beside her, the young girl continued, “I’ve tried it. After loading the sundries, you can put the backpack inside the warehouse. You can categorize it into a food bag, daily necessities bag, medical bag, tool bag, sundries bag, etc. Think of how big a backpack is? You can put a lot of things in it, and you don’t have to consider the load.”

“Plus, it’s too eye-catching to walk on the road with a bulging backpack, but if you put it in your warehouse, you essentially eliminated the possibility of getting robbed.”

She earnestly added, “If you arrange your warehouse this way, you’ll have enough materials to survive not only this instance and you’ll even have leftovers for next. Anyways, we can resupply before the next instance, can’t we? Plus, there will be extra rewards for custom clearance, and you’ll have a chance to buy stuff in the system mall too.” 

Su Han immediately tried it out. Sure enough, she can put her backpack with different items into the warehouse; there’s also no problem taking them out. She cheerfully took out 5 more bars of soap from her warehouse and handed it to the girl, thanking her with a sincere smile, “This information is really valuable. Take these soaps too, this is what you deserve.”

The young girl was very grateful for these extra soaps, so she gave an additional tip to Su Han, “You can easily find out what you want to know from others using water and brown bread as reward. In current circumstances, water, food and daily necessities are much more valuable than money.”

Su Han let out a laugh, “I know, thanks for reminding me.”

The young girl didn’t know why; she had a feeling she just got taken advantage of. She took a careful look at Su Han and took the initiative to introduce herself, “My name is Yu Baowen, you are?”

“Su Han.”

“I hope we’ll meet again in future instances.”  Yu Baowen walked away after saying this.

Su Han didn’t take her words seriously, she hurried back to the bazaar to collect storage boxes. After a short while, she used 5 packs of instant noodles to exchange five 250L super-large storage boxes, each of which was at least 90% new, with huge capacity.

After rearranging her stuff, Su Han smoothly stuffed all her items into the warehouse, leaving a lot of space.

At 9 am the next day, the system’s mechanical voice announced on time, “On the 13th day, the price of goods rose by 100%.”

“Due to insufficient electricity supply, there will be a power outage in residential buildings for 3 hours every day and electricity supply will be cut off after 8 pm.”

“If the lady boss still sells noodles, a bowl of noodles will cost about 24,000 coins now.” Su Han muttered to herself, “The situation is getting more and more chaotic, and the danger is approaching step by step. I wonder when the tipping point will come.”

She shook her head to dispel these depressing thoughts.

“Mommy, I’m hungry.” A child’s milky voice called out.

The young mother’s nose was sour, she almost burst into tears. There was no food to eat at home for several days, now that there’s no water and electricity, she really didn’t know how to survive anymore.

“Mommy’s good child, you bear it for a while, you won’t be hungry soon.” The young mother smiled and comforted her child softly.

Even though she said that, her eyes were filled with hopelessness. Without a job, she can’t afford food, even if she is willing to lower her face and beg on the streets, she’s sure no one will give her a bite in this situation.

The young mother gradually clenched her hands – even if she had to steal or loot, she couldn’t just watch her child starve to death!

At this moment, two slices of bread fell from the sky.

“Hurry up and eat.” A kind girl told them with a smile.

“Thank you, thank you so much!” The mother hurriedly fed her child, she was afraid the bread that was finally obtained would be snatched away.

The kind girl just showed a pleasing smile. All of a sudden, many people popped up around her from out of nowhere.

“I’m starving to death too. Kind girl, please give me a bite to eat too.”

“Just one piece of bread is fine, I will leave as soon as I get one piece the bread.”

“The three-year-old in my family has been hungry for two days, please help him too!”

The kind girl hastily continued to take out some bread to pass to the people in front of her. However, when she already gave out most of her food, not only did the crowd not dispersed, but more and more people gathered around her. In a blink of an eye, she was surrounded by fifty or sixty people.

“I don’t have any food anymore! I am all out of food!” The kind girl shouted desperately.

But the surrounding crowd didn’t believe her at all.

“Why are you willing to save them but not me? I’m starving to death too!”

“You must still have something to eat. Give it to me!”

“For my child, I must get this bread today!”

As they spoke, everyone pushed and shoved.

The kind girl was going crazy. After a while, she finally remembered that the instance was considered cleared in ten days. She could request the system to transfer her out at any time, so she swiftly made a request. However, it was too late at this time.

The system hadn’t responded to the girl’s request; the angry crowd behaved more and more savagely. In just a few seconds, the kind girl was unable to stand and fell down, her energy level plummeted to 0 at once.

The young mother hurriedly covered her child’s eyes, shedding tears guiltily – what is happening to the world? This is just purgatory on earth!
