Su Han heard a strange sound when she was about to walk away.

‘Woo!..Woo!’ It sounded like someone’s mouth was forcibly covered.

“Hurry! Take him away!” Although the person that spoke deliberately lowered his voice, Su Han still heard what he said.

Then someone replied in a quivering voice.

Alarm bells started ringing in Su Han’s mind. A thought flashed through her mind just as she was about to take a look; the system announced the volunteer work, which meant the one that got hit just now was a player!

It wasn’t an accident, those people hit the volunteer with their car on purpose!!

Through the thick fog, Su Han couldn’t exactly see how many people were there or where they went, so she pretended not to hear anything and strode away quickly.

On the 2nd day, the fog around the island became thicker.

On the 3rd day, visibility further decreased.

Su Han was not affected by these changes at all. She passed the time quite comfortably. To avoid attracting attention from other tenants, she would go pick up seafood from the beach only when it’s dark.

She would pick up a bucketful, leave some food aside for the day and sell the rest. Because the price is fair and the food is delicious, many people stop by her stall every day. As a result, she could easily make 300/400 coins a day.

Her meals were free, and she only needed to spend 10 coins a day to buy two soaps in the supermarket to refill her cleanliness level. By day 4, not only did she use anything from her warehouse, but there were 1,000 coins in her possession.

The rent for the bamboo house was 50 coins a day. Su Han had already paid five days’ rent, which means she only needed 750 coins to pay for the remaining 15 days.

She set off towards the pharmacy, planning to use the extra 250 coins to buy some medicines.

*****

Su Han unexpectedly saw someone making a scene inside the pharmacy when she got there.

A male customer was furiously criticizing the staff behind the counter, “When I first came to the store, you said the medicines were sold out and will only be available the next day. Okay, I can’t complain about that. After all, I was the one that came late.”

“I came here early the next morning, you told me that the cargo ship had an accident and failed to deliver the goods on time so I need to wait another day.”

“On the 3rd day, you said you don’t know why, but the cargo ship just didn’t come.”

“Today’s the 4th day! You’re telling me that the medicines are still out of stock?! Are you doing this deliberately?!”

The salesgirl tried to defend herself with a bitter face, “I didn’t lie to you. The cargo ship really didn’t come. I am going crazy too!”

Fearing the other party might not believe her, she added, “We don’t have a pharmaceutical factory on our island. The medicine we sell is transported by cargo ships. Under normal circumstances, the ship comes once every two days. I don’t know what’s happening either, but I haven’t seen the ship for several days.”

“Enough! I would have to be an idiot if I still believe your words!” The male customer sarcastically laughed.

Su Han suddenly felt an ominous premonition – the ship might be delayed because of the fog, or it might… never come…

“I…” The salesgirl was running out of words to defend herself. What can she do if the ship does not come? She couldn’t make the medicine appear out of thin air!

“Excuse me,” Su Han interrupted the conversation between the two and asked the salesgirl with a particularly solemn expression, “Is the cargo ship used to transport only medicine?”

The girl despondently replied, “Everything we sell on the island – food, medicine, necessities, all of them were sent here by ships.”

Su Han’s heart sank, I knew it. She ignored them and sprinted out of the pharmacy.

The male customer was offended by her actions, “How could someone interrupt a conversation like that? How can she run off without even apologizing?!”

Suddenly, he also realized what was happening: “The ship hasn’t been here, so if all the medicines are sold out, wouldn’t that mean the supermarket will also…”

The salesgirl pursed her lips and nodded, “That’s right.”

“F***!” The male customer sprung up and also sprinted out of the drugstore.

On the other side, Su Han ran all the way to the supermarket. She finally comprehended what was going on with this instance.

This island has no factory; transport ships bring all the daily necessities from outside the island. That means cargo ships are the only way people on the island get new resources. The fog itself was not lethal; it can only cause a few car accidents, but it has isolated the island from the outside world!

The supermarket is probably relying on its warehouse to resume operations. But that will only last a couple of days.

Su Han used to think the system was really evil to announce those daily inflation rates. Anyone who kept up with the prices wouldn’t be able to suppress the panic in their hearts. And as the days passed, people found themselves hopelessly falling straight down into the abyss of despair, getting closer and closer to hell.

But now, Su Han found that being calm on the surface and then suddenly finding out she was about to fall into a crisis was also quite terrifying. She couldn’t shake off her agitation even now.
