Sugar, salt, soy sauce, and other seasonings were all available in the kitchen at the bamboo house; therefore, Su Han did not need to buy anything.

She cleaned the two fish she caught and stewed the bones to make a soup first. Then she fillets the fish into small chunks. That way, once the soup boils, she can simply dip the fish fillet in for a few seconds to cook it.

She heartily ate one piece of fish in one bite. She wanted to buy some sesame sauce or peanut butter sauce to eat with her hot pot. She regretfully dispelled these thoughts when she remembered she was in a survival game and couldn’t afford to be wasteful.

In the distance, Zhong Rui inhaled a breath full of fragrant fish soup. He followed the smell while looking around suspiciously. When he went inside the bamboo house and saw the person who was eating and drinking without a care in the world was familiar, his expression became weird, “Do you still remember you are in a survival game?”

Su Han put the fish into her mouth while giving him a look of “I also couldn’t help it”. The fog was not dangerous at all; what else was she supposed to do besides treat it as a vacation.

Zhong Rui shook his head, “You didn’t go find a job?”

Su Han didn’t feel the need to tell him about her job-seeking experience so she continued to stay quiet. After all, this is a competition, and one should always be careful when meeting new friends (guard against others).

Zhong Rui realized what her look meant. He asked her with a hint of helplessness, “You still think I’m suspicious?”

Su Han gave him a polite smile, “I’m confident that I can survive alone. I don’t plan to find a comrade.”

Zhong Rui was speechless. Her meaning was obvious; It was not that he looked particularly suspicious. It’s just that she doesn’t trust anyone.

Zhong Rui made a decision after a few moments, “I still owe you a favor. Would you like to know how I cleared the first instance? I can tell you for free.”

Su Han showed a puzzled look, “If you’re talking about me helping you with your wound, you don’t owe me anything. You’ve already paid me for that and even reminded me to leave the apartment back then, so we don’t owe each other anything.”

“But I think one life of mine is worth more than three boxes of anti-inflammatory drugs.” Zhong Rui looked very serious. He then gestured at the fish and oysters on the stove, “You can treat me a meal if you feel that I’m losing out.”

Su Han: …After speaking for so long, his actual purpose is to freeload a meal from me?

Things like brown bread are easy to stock up, but they taste horrible. So, if there are other options, players would happily choose the alternative.

‘But Zhong Rui is rich enough to empty out the whole pharmacy, why would he try to get a free meal from her? Isn’t it better to go have a scrumptious meal in a restaurant?’

Maybe he really wanted to pay her back? Getting a free dinner might really just be an afterthought.

“Let’s talk.” Su Han decided to listen to him.

Zhong Rui started talking with a slight smile, “Crisis conditions usually involve water and electricity cuts, so after entering the instance, I bought 100 bars of soaps, 100 boxes of dry biscuits, and 700 bottles of mineral water, intending to resell those after water cut. Fortunately, I made the right bet.”

700 bottles of water… Su Han praised him for his preparedness in her heart. She thought of something and said, “Then where did the candles come from?”. She remembered it wasn’t just mineral water on the stall at the time.

“I found them in an abandoned warehouse by accident. In game terms, it was probably a resource point for the players.”

Su Han bowed her head, ‘Then is the beach also considered a resource point?’

Zhong Rui continued, “After tap water became poisonous, business was pretty good, and I got a lot of useful materials. Then I was hunted down and met you. After I left the apartment, because there were fights everywhere, I stayed in the forest until the end of the instance.”

‘Hiding in the forest?’ Su Han glanced at him in surprise. If she remembered correctly, someone on the forum said his friend hid in the forest and cleared the instance.

“I have seen that post on the forum. I don’t recognize the poster.” Zhong Rui knew what Su Han’s expression meant, so he explained, “I was not the only one hiding in the forest during the first instance.”

Su Han shrugged and handed him a grilled oyster, “Here.” Although his strategy was good, she neither intended to stock up to 700 bottles of water nor hide inside the forest. But seeing as he told her everything, she decided to invite him to a meal for the sake of sincerity. Anyways, it would be a waste to not finish all this food.

Zhong Rui: …That’s it??

Zhong Rui watched her wordlessly. The reason he told her everything was, of course, not just to repay her favor. In other words, it’s not solely for repaying her kindness.

Su Han helped him honestly instead of taking advantage of the situation when he was injured, which showed her character. He told her all this to subtly imply that he’s an expert. The two of them can be considered friends, so Zhong Rui was willing to provide his assistance if Su Han needed any help.

Zhong Rui didn’t expect her to treat his words like air.
