37. The Cat Fairy Murk

Frost looked at Mirrocle nervously, expecting Mirrocle to answer him.

Frost was not a magician, but he had heard of it before. It couldn’t be easy to both recover Larry’s body, and his Essence Orb.

Mirrocle calmly followed Frost to the office next door. “Actually, I don’t think it’s necessary to hide it from Larry. He will know it sooner or later.”

“You can tell me first. I’m afraid that he will be embarrassed. It’s not that simple to recover the Essence Orb, right?”

If they could achieve that by working hard together, then he would let Larry know it with no worries.

“Do you remember the jade slip we saw in the valley? The one taken away by the leader of the Astraea Foxclan.” Mirrocle was afraid that Frost put all his focus on Larry and didn’t notice that, so he reminded him of it.

Frost did not pay too much attention to what was going on that night, but he saw the jade slip that the Patriarch took away.

“Yeah, it’s about that jade slip?”

Frost frowned. The leader of the Astraea Foxclan came himself to take the jade slip away, so it was definitely not something that could be easily obtained.

“Master said that he had read something about it in an ancient book when he was young. It recorded some information about the Astraea Foxclan. That jade slip was a very important magic weapon that helped the Astraea Foxclan remain unharmed and keep their strength during the time of the world catastrophe.”

Frost knew that Mirrocle wasn’t finished.

“And… about that protective barrier, only those who are in love can break it.” Mirrocle found it very difficult to say this.

He didn’t regret saving Larry. He witnessed the love between Larry and Frost. What he regretted was that he didn’t come and find Larry earlier. He was too irresolute, and he could only blame himself for that.

The look on Frost’s face was obscure. He and the little fox were in love with each other…

He thought back to those nights, the unspeakable dreams, and the reckless young boy…

Perhaps…

However, when he subconsciously looked at the office where the little fox was, he thought that a large part of Larry’s misery was caused by him.

And his sweetheart was a little fox?

A weak and helpless little fox was his sweetheart?

If he saw this whole thing in a different way, Frost felt like he was like a beast. No, a beast was even better than him.

The more he thought about it, the more serious Frost looked. Frost, who had always been able to control his emotions, now felt that he had to find a quiet place and stay alone.

For so many years, many men and women had had a crush on him. But today, he was told that he was in love with someone, and he castrated the one who he loved in person. Most importantly, his sweetheart was not even a human!

The more Frost thought about it, the more his head ached.

Frost rubbed the forehead as if he was trying to sort out all those thoughts in his mind. He still had a question, “Where could we find the jade slip? Are we going back to the lair of the Astraea Foxclan?”

Mirrocle nodded solemnly, “Yes, we’re going back there, but not now. The last time we went there, we just explored a corner of the territory of the Astraea Foxclan. In fact, we didn’t even get close to their lair. Moreover, we are not strong enough. And I can’t get my magician fellows involved in my personal affairs. Sorry.”

When Mirrocle learned that the only thing that could recover Larry’s body was the jade slip, he thought of asking for his master for help. However, after careful consideration, he found it impossible for him make such an unreasonable request.

If, because of him, his master stood on the opposite side of the Astraea Foxclan and ruined the peaceful situation that had been carefully maintained by the humans and fairies for many years, countless people would be involved if a war between the two species broke out. And Mirrocle, he would be the sinner who caused the war.

He didn’t dare to do this.

If, whatever the result was, he alone would be held responsible for it, then he would do it without hesitation.

But he knew that it would implicate others…

Frost may not understand what was at stake here, but Mirrocle was not the kind of person who would impose his will upon others.

What’s more, Mirrocle had been of great help all this time. Frost knew that without Mirrocle, he alone would never be able to rescue Larry.

“You don’t have to apologize. Instead, I should apologize to you. If it weren’t for me, Larry wouldn’t have ended up like this. Before we find the jade slip, is Larry only able to remain his fox form?” In fact, to Frost, it was good for Larry to take fox form.

When Larry was in the fox form, Frost couldn’t understand him and he didn’t need to face their relationship immediately. Perhaps his love for Larry was just the result of too much secretion of hormones, and it didn’t mean anything, and it would be gone after a short period of time.

“Not necessarily. I’ve sent a message to another senior who specializes in healing magics. He is on his way here from Continent Feijoa. He is proficient in healing magics. When he is here, he’ll reconnect Larry’s inner channels with gold needles, and I will input magic power into his body. And with the help of the magic power with restored inner channels, he should be able to take human form within a short period of time.”

Frost really wanted to ask Mirrocle how many senior brothers he had.

But he didn’t. He just returned to his office with mixed feelings.

“Ack?”

“Don’t worry. You will soon be able to take human form.” Frost stroked Larry gently.

Mirrocle must have a good relationship with everyone in his magic school. This morning, he said that his senior brother was on his way here from Continent Feijoa and this afternoon, his senior appeared at the door of the pet hospital, also travel-stained.

Was Mirrocle a mascot of their House of Mirrors?

Mirrocle’s senior brother was a member of the elite in his forties. When he was brought in by a nurse, he looked serious and was serious both in speech and manner.

“May I ask if Mirrocle is here? I am his senior brother, and my name is Humberto.”

Frost and Humberto greeted each other friendly, and then they fell into an awkward silence.

Mirrocle carefully held Larry who had just had his wound dressing changed, and his back stiffened.

“Senior brother, you’re here.”

Thankfully, Mirrocle came back in time and broke the silence in the room. Humberto glared at him: You brat, hurry and say something! It’s embarrassing here!

Mirrocle was still holding Larry in his arms. He looked at Humberto in a daze, “Senior Brother, look, this is the friend I told you about. His arteries and veins were broken.”

Larry looked at Mirrocle and then at Humberto. He asked Murk, “Joff-tchoff-tchoff!?? (Is this guy Mirrocle’s senior brother or his father??) ”

Murk, “Meow… (I don’t know. I’ve never seen him before…)”

Mirrocle and Frost were used to the occasional communication between Murk and Larry. They didn’t understand it anyway. After all, Murk would come to them when they needed something.

However, Humberto was new to this. This was the first time he saw such a highly inspired cat. And it even communicated with a fox. If it wasn’t for the fact that Murk didn’t have any fairy aura on him, Humberto might have thought that there were two fairies in front of him.

“This cat is inspired. And it’s just one step from becoming a fairy.”

Murk was talking with Larry about whether this senior brother was easy to get along with as he looked so serious.

Hearing the serious senior brother talk about him, Murk has yet to react.

“Joff-tchoff-tchoffo-tchoffo-tchoff! (He said that you’re just one step from becoming a fairy. The Cat Fairy Murk, wow, it sounds so cool.)”

“Meow meow! (I’m cool even if I’m not a fairy!)”

‘No, I missed the point. I could become a cat fairy?!’

‘Cat Fairy Murk?!’
