30. An Ancient Love Poem

Translator: Ann Yi

Mirrocle breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.

June didn’t know what Mirrocle was thinking about. She only knew that this barrier was set up by human beings, initially to protect the person in it.

This barrier could isolate all fairies and demons, and only humans themselves can lift this barrier. But as time went by, the barrier that was originally used to isolate fairies and demons to protect human beings was gradually turned into a place to punish rebellious foxes by the Astraea Foxclan.

Although she grew up in the Astraea Foxclan, she never thought that one day she would be related to this place.

“What did you see?!” June and Mirrocle stared at Frost, afraid that he would say something disappointing.

Frost frowned. The content on this stone was so obscure that in the face of Mirrocle’s anxious gaze, he had to think about how to put it into words.

“It’s… it’s a picture that I can’t understand. It’s like an analysis of a process, but I don’t understand what these symbols mean.” It looked like Chinese characters. Maybe it was written in oracle bone script.

There was faint light flowing between the characters. Frost knew that it was an analysis of something, which was quite remarkable.

Mirrocle quickly took out some banknotes from his backpack and stuffed them into Frost’s hands, “Quick, draw them if you don’t understand. Perhaps one of us can recognize them. ”

The problem that he and June had was that they couldn’t see it, and they didn’t know who had set up this barrier.

The fairies couldn’t see it. Mirrocle was sure that he was a pure human. As for why Frost could see it, Mirrocle was more and more curious about Doctor Frost’s background.

Frost learnt how to make sketches before as a veterinarian. To be honest, he had learned almost everything, but he didn’t specialize in any of them. For a person who didn’t sleep much, drawing was a very good way to stay calm.

Therefore, Frost’s drawing skills could be said to be quite legendary.

When the pattern on the paper gradually became clear, both Mirrocle and June looked unpleasant.

Mirrocle saw magic symbols. And some of them looked like protective magic arrays consisting of the magic symbols.

Many people had tried to do this, but few of them succeeded, and according to what June said, this magic array had been here for hundreds of years.

Mirrocle sincerely admired the magician who could create this magic array, and the ability of that magician. At the same time, he became even more confused. As Frost went on drawing on the paper, Mirrocle saw more and more words that he couldn’t understand.

At first, Mirrocle thought that he was an awful magician and that it was normal for him to not understand it. However, when he couldn’t understand most of the words, he could still tell that those symbols were in the same pattern.

Those words that he couldn’t understand must belong to another language system.

June saw that Mirrocle was confused, and she was equally confused, “A long time ago, fairies used this written language to communicate with each other, but we haven’t used it for a long time.”

“Oh, no wonder I can’t understand. Since it used to be your language, Young Lady, do you know what they are?”

That was what made June confused. The things written on it were too inconsistent with this scene.

“It’s…a love poem. I’ll read it.” June stopped and looked in the direction where Larry was lying, then she kept her head down and started to read.

“I love you and I wish that this love can last forever.

I look forward that I could combine my first name

And your last name together.

However, fate kept us apart,

And affections between two men were not blessed.

So every day, I suffered from love-sickness,

Hoping to be hugged into your warm and strong chest.

Despite that, I’m aware of the situation you’re in.

And I wish that you love me as much as I do.”

Fortunately, the translation of the fairies’ written language was not too obscure. Except for Murk, everyone present could understand it.

Mirrocle scratched his chin thoughtfully, “Looks like it is…” He originally wanted to say that it was written by a woman, but on second thought, he didn’t think the writer should be a woman.

It seemed that the person who wrote the love poem was a man, and the one he admired was also…?

Mirrocle thought of it, and June and Frost both thought of it. A hint of dismay flashed across June’s eyes.

Frost did not overthink it. He was not interested in this love story itself. He just wanted to know how to rescue the little fox as soon as possible.

“Does it say how to lift the restriction?”

Mirrocle took out his mobile phone and showed it to the two of them. He smiled and said, “Just now, I have taken a photo of it and sent the photo to a senior brother who is good at cracking runes and arrays. He has made great achievements in this field. And he said that he is cracking it right now.”

Mirrocle could draw talismans, but one would be asking too much if he asked Mirrocle to break formations and arrays. After all, every magician was a master in different fields. Mirrocle was good at drawing talismans, but if one asked him to break formations, it would be really difficult for him.

“Ding!” The notification sound of the cellphone was like the music of nature.

“Yes! Senior brother said that almost no one uses this kind of formation now. This may be a double-formation.” Mirrocle’s senior brother was quite reliable. Not only did he explain the origin of this formation, he also sent the method to crack it.

Mirrocle immediately started to crack the magic array. All kinds of talismans flew around his fingertips. Although Frost and June couldn’t understand the meaning of these talismans, they stared at them without blinking.

As the talismans were dancing in the air, a flowing light started to appear on the stone and formed magic array, which was originally invisible to June’s eyes.

The amazement in June’s eyes was natural and sincere. She originally thought that she was well-informed. It was only when she saw this symbol array that she realized that there were still lots of things out there that she didn’t know.

Had it not been for Frost, she and Mirrocle wouldn’t even have been able to see this kind of formation, let alone break it.

With the guidance of Mirrocle’s senior brother, the complicated symbol array was soon broken.

A silver light flashed on the big stone, and the glittering words that had appeared on the stone gradually vanished.

Mirrocle clapped his hands and laughed, and he stretched his hand forward. With the formation broken, he also learned a lot.

“Be careful!” Frost also thought that Mirrocle would be able to cross the barrier this time, but the moment Mirrocle’s hand was about to touch the barrier, Frost caught sight of a faint luster.

But it was too late to stop Mirrocle, and this time, June didn’t react quickly enough.

Mirrocle was blown away and he fell heavily onto the stone. With the violent shaking of his internal organs, he spat out a mouthful of blood.

There were even a few drops of blood splashed onto the big stone. The stone without the glow of the magic symbols was an ordinary stone. But when Mirrocle’s blood splashed on it, the light flashed and disappeared immediately.

June and Murk didn’t see it, but Frost did.

“Are you alright? There seemed to be… one more layer of restriction on it.” Frost’s fingertips touch the blood on the stone, and it felt sticky.

The blood was just a little sticky and it was no different from any other blood.

Mirrocle stood up and saw that Frost and June were squatting around that rock with his blood on it.

“What’s going on?” June ignored Mirrocle and just stared at Frost.

A lot of thoughts came to Frost’s mind, and he felt like something in his heart was getting restless.

“What are you doing?!” Mirrocle, lying against the stone, was still confused.
