Labyrinth Restaurant

Dr. Alice's Cooking Classes and Getting Started Edition

One morning, a regular May rarely came to the store alone. It's an early time like no other customers yet. I usually come with your buddies Alan, but it seems there are no other three today.

It's not uncommon or particularly problematic, and I (Alice) wanted to show her to her seat as usual, but before that, May did me a favor, for whatever reason. It's the same laid-back tone as usual, but I find the atmosphere strange and stiff today.

"Do you want me to teach you how to cook,?

"Yes, actually."

Anything, you think Alan and Dan will be competing in the next martial arts tournament, so you've been doing some fierce training lately? So he wanted to cook hand-cooked food for backup and plug it in.

For the record, there was a huge response when I announced that the prize for the three tournaments of martial arts, cooking and performing arts was' the right to fulfill only one wish of any kind '. Those wishing to compete in each tournament will instantly swell up and their momentum will not know where to stay.

Of course, you won't be able to easily target the winner in any area, but if the tournament combinations are such a development that the strong will crush each other early, few people will see that even if they are inferior in strength, they have a winning chance depending on their luck.

Let's get back to business.

"So, why is it hand cooking? Isn't it okay if I buy you something you can fit in?

"That's ~... that's ~..."

I think it would be easier and tastier to buy shop-sale stuff than a dish made of nigiri, but is this also why you are so obsessed with hand cooking for May?

"That… if Alice wants the Demon King to eat, which would be happier if she cooked herself or bought it somewhere ~?"

I'm not sure what the question is meant to be, but that would of course be more pleasant if you ate the one I made myself. Even a regular meal would taste better if the Demon King made it, but I feel so happy that I have no regrets of dying like this, such as when he compliments me on what I made.

"Uh, that... I probably felt the same way - you know, I heard Alan talking to Dan about the family kid being the type... I wish he'd be happy..."

May's white cheeks were stained bright red when I finished saying if it was too illuminated. In short, to sum up the current story...

"I see, I mean, May likes Mr. Alan!

"Don't say it out loud ~!?"

Whoa, excuse me.

If there were anyone else on the floor, it would have been dangerous.

"That ~... you subtly held heavy objects when you and I went out to buy them out a while ago, or you matched me with the speed of walking without saying anything. In retrospect, I noticed that it's been like that for a long time now ~... and it feels like my face has been kind of tightening like an adult lately... and there are a lot of other things, but so, it's kind of nice ~,"

"Well, Mr. Alan, that's pretty good."

I don't know much about them except as restaurant guests, but from what I've heard, Mr. Alan seems quite a good young man (regardless, not as good as the Demon King).

"But I'm in a childish shape, and I'm not even home in the first place ~..."

"I understand, I understand the problem very well."

I've been trying from day to day to see if it's something that won't grow up any more, but it hasn't yielded any results at all. This must be more wrong in the world already. I found each other with the same problems and learned an unprecedented kind of heart strength. By the way, Lisa is a good friend, but we can't be one another because we can't share this concern due to shape specifications.

"So even though I had no choice, I thought I'd improve what I could still do."

"So you're saying let's do a special cooking training? Yes, I understand. We'll work together."

"Is it true ~!"

"Yes, let's work together!

"Yes ~!"

I have shaken hands much with Mr. May and promised to cooperate. I also practice unfamiliar songs and dances outside of business hours for performing arts competitions, so I feel like I'm wasting my time, but I can't leave you alone as the same maiden in love. Besides, by helping someone in similar situations, you might get some tips for me to attack the Demon King.

◆ ◆ ◆

Speaking of which, now I realize that you've come up with an analogy between me and the Demon King earlier...

"Um, I don't know, but did you realize that I... liked the Demon King?

"Rather, I was surprised that you were going to hide it ~"

"Become...!?"

Lisa pointed me out before, but could I possibly be bad at hiding my feelings? I think it's obvious to anyone but the Demon King at heart. And yet, how can the Demon King not notice?

◆ ◆ ◆

"Well, let's start with the easy part"

"Yes, Doctor ~"

I don't have any sign of other customers coming yet, so I'll get to teaching them quickly. You can't waste limited time. By the way, Mr. May lent me my spare apron to put on after washing his hands well. The cooking area needs to be kept clean.

"Well, I'll be on the floor."

"Yes, thank you"

"I'm sorry I bothered ~"

Without telling the Demon King about the key motives, I asked him to let me use the kitchen with special training in Mae's cooking. Let's just say we're done by lunch when the store gets crowded.

"Today, well, do you even make sandwiches"

"Oh, that's nice."

Basically, we just prepare the ingredients and pinch them in the bread, but they are simply seemingly but unexpectedly deep, and they are apt for a variety of applications. It is also portable, so it would be a good menu for adventurers who often dine outdoors.

"Okay, first, we'll have the ingredients. What do you like about Mr. Alan?

"Right - I eat everything a lot, but is it meat after all?"

Is it meat after all when you are a man eating a platter?

To put it further, you seem to be more pleased with the well-fed gutsy than with the light system of vegetable subjects.

"Well, if it's a meat-based sandwich and it's good for eating... a cutlet sandwich, a roast beef sandwich, and a Teriyaki chicken sandwich would be nice"

"They're all delicious ~"

"Hamburgers are a kind of sandwich, maybe."

"Nice ~"

They are all popular menus, and well fed. If you can make it delicious, you'll be delighted. But...

"By the way, Mr. May, have you ever cooked?

"... if you put fire to the ingredients you bought, they will be edible for now ~..."

Sounds like a level to some extent that the flavor will be edible at any rate. If you think about it in the first place, don't you think people would tell you if you were confident in cooking? So, it might still be difficult to get tonkatsu or roast beef to be the equipment for the aforementioned sandwiches.

"Now let's make it an easy and delicious sandwich even for May today"

"Is there such a thing?"

Challenging difficult objects from the start is based on failure, and this time make it an easy sandwich for beginners to make and delicious.

The first thing to prepare is bacon.

I have just sliced something so I will use it as it is this time.

"Bake this in a frying pan until crispy"

"Don't you have to pull the oil?"

"Yeah, just enough fat out of the bacon"

Heating bacon produces a large amount of fat, so when heated as it is, it becomes like a fried grill. The rest is a paragraph if you cook it until it's crunchy, taking care not to burn it.

Vegetable chopsticks seemed hard to use for May, so I lent her a tong of metal to pull the bacon out of the frying pan and move it to another plate.

"Even if you eat like this, it looks delicious."

"If you drop the eggs in the middle of the grill earlier, you can make them into bacon eggs as they are, or you can cut them into fine pieces like this and put them as toppings on top of the salad"

Crispy bacon doesn't hurt to remember, as it's easier to apply for the sake of not having to fail.

Now let's move on to the next ingredient.

"Now I'll turn off the water from the lettuce I left exposed to the water and then I'll chop it to the right size"

"Yes ~"

There's no element of failure here, is there?

"Next is thinly sliced tomatoes. Be careful not to cut your fingers."

"Yes, just about this thickness?"

"Yeah, that's how it goes"

I was worried, but it seems more handy than I thought.

Regardless of your cooking experience, the handling of blades looks like you're in the hall.

"I will skin and dismantle the hunted prey ~"

"I see."

Even if you rarely use a knife in a dish, you seem used to the blade itself. At this rate, you don't seem so worried.

"What should I do with the type of bread?

"Right ~"

Perhaps we should start with how to bake the bread itself if we are to teach it in earnest, but this time we omit it and decide to use the object.

The kitchen currently houses bread, coppe bread, baguette, rye bread, rice flour bread and more. You can choose me, but whatever you choose so far will taste better than that, and at any rate, it would mean that it would be more thought-provoking for May to choose for herself.

"I'll make this one ~"

"You're a baguette, let's go with that. Place the blade from the side and break it up and down."

It's good enough to eat for strong teeth, and it's not a bad choice.

If you cut it in two with a bread-cutting knife with a wave-shaped blade, the completion is already right in front of you.

"All you have to do is apply mayonnaise to the baguette and mustard if you like it spicy. So if you pinch the bacon and vegetables, you can do it."

"Is that all?"

"Yes, that's it"

As you can already see, this time I chose a BLT sandwich. There are few elements that fail, and even Mae, a novice cook, thought she could make it delicious. As for mayonnaise and mustard, they are usually out in the city above these days, and all the other ingredients are readily available. You don't need expensive cookware either.

Apparently, the survey itself just doesn't sound bad with less experience, and if you remember to focus on a well-applied menu at this rate, it will improve more and more.

"Done!"

"So let's try it"

I decided to complete it without any particular problems and try it out quickly for both of us. I carried a smaller cut sandwich into my mouth because if I ate too much, I wouldn't be able to get lunch in.

From behind the crisp feel of the baguette's surface, the flavors of bright lettuce, tomato and bacon fat emerge. The sweet acidity of the mayonnaise and the spicy mustard are also good accents. Originally, it was about the size of two or three bites, so I quickly finished eating it.

"I made this, didn't I?"

"Yes, I am."

May, who finished eating before me, was staring at the rest of the BLT sandwich somewhat strangely.

"I'm sure Mr. Alan would be happy with this."

"Yes, I hope so ~"

Well, if you evaluate it objectively, the BLT sandwich I made this time doesn't give me a "normal" frame, nor do I see coarseness such as a slightly crushed tomato incision. Alan, who is usually used to eating the dishes of the Demon King, will not be surprising.

But you should be able to cover there with your thoughts. I mean, if I can't, I'm inferior to the Demon King in cooking arms. I'm in trouble, so I want an empirical example that I can cover it with feelings. I won't put it in my mouth because it seems better to hide the bottom of the area from Mae.

"Keep the rest in a carton for takeaway"

"I'm sorry for everything."

"No, because it's for cute students"

"Thank you, Doctor ~"

I don't do it with pure kindness, so it hurts my conscience to be thankful, but I don't show it to my face. Maybe I could hide it, I think.

Well, aside from the insignificance, teaching people something was quite a fresh experience. We want to support each other in similar situations, about Mr. May, and we want you to do your best.
