Chapter 22: Delicious Biscuits

Cole quickly picked up Haman’s backpack on the ground. He opened it and looked inside. His heart ached at that moment.

“Have you been hungry for a month without eating? How can you eat so much? You’ve finished six bags of biscuits in one morning?”

To be honest, Haman had not eaten so much in a long time. In the past, when he was the poorest, he and Holly could only eat until they were barely not hungry.

It hadn’t been long since they became rich. It was one or two months ago.

Haman hadn’t had time to enjoy it..

She was eating while walking was an essential skill that Haman had learned a long time ago.

If necessary, he could even finish a meal while running.

Moreover, the biscuits these people brought were delicious. Some were sweet, and some were salty.

The biscuits that appeared in the market town were bland and tasteless. Most of the people bought them because they could be stored for a long time.

And salt and sugar were luxuries in the market town.

Usually, Haman and the others would only eat those like boiled potatoes. If there were no salt, they would find a few stones from outside, put them into a pot, and cook them together with the potatoes.

How could they get such delicious food? There was also some salty water in the backpack, which was quite thirst-quenching.

“Look at how full your stomach is.” Cole roared, “Are you pregnant? Won’t you feel uncomfortable?”

But Haman said unhappily, “Didn’t you ask me to carry this bag? But now that you say it, I feel a little uncomfortable!”

Haman then ran into the distance, “You guys can enjoy the food first. I’ll go take a shit and come back.”

After Haman ran far away, only Cole and the others were left confused there.

Yuri hesitated for a moment and said, “Don’t let him carry the bag.”

But Cole glared, “Why should we let him feel good? Although he has become a mutant now, he is still a refugee!”

Yuri spread his hands and tilted his head. “If we let this kid carry the bag for a few more days, I’m afraid we won’t be able to reach Mount Roman!”

When Cole heard this, he roughly estimated Haman’s appetite and sighed. “It does seem to be a bit insufficient.”

In the end, everyone agreed to divide the bag into several portions and let the three of them carry them together.

One of them was Cole.

Haman didn’t run all the way there to take a shit, at least not all of them.

Even a person like Haman couldn’t eat six packets of biscuits in one morning.

He had only eaten two packets and was already extremely full.

Haman planned to hide the remaining four packets and bring them to Holly and Tok when he returned.

When Haman returned, he was unhappy when he heard that he couldn’t carry the bag. “I’m willing to carry it. Why should I not work? I’m just a guide. I don’t need to fight.”

“Who not?”

“Let me go, and I want to be with my food!”

However, no matter what, they did not dare to let him carry anything.

Now it was about food. It was not a big problem when Haman finished six packets of biscuits.

Anyway, there was enough food left.

But once something else was damaged, it might be a waste of time.

Cole and the others didn’t like Haman for a reason. They were the “Big shots” in the city.

But they couldn’t even find a guide in the town.

In their opinion, shouldn’t Haman be like the first guide and taking the initiative to help them?

Even if Haman had become a mutant, he was still a refugee.

Even if he entered the city, there was a difference between a refugee and a city dweller.

Many people hoped that they could have an extraordinary relationship in the city because Chuck was right.

When the big shots in the city gave them casually, the refugees would live very well in the market town.

Like this biscuit, Haman was already a person who had a good life in the market town. When he first ate this biscuit, he felt that it was a delicacy on Earth.

However, these were outcasts. When they ate these biscuits, they did not have any reaction.

It was as if this was their regular dry food.

However, Haman’s reaction was to avoid them.

As a result, everyone’s impression of Haman was not very good. After this incident, it was even worse.

Especially Cole. He had started to persuade Mankiw to return to the market town to find a new guide.

“Captain, we’ve only left for half a day,” Cole said. “It’s completely possible to return to the town now. It’s just a waste of a day.”

Hearing that, Haman did not react at all.

The happiest person was Haman if they could find a new guide.

He didn’t want to come out in the first place. It was just that the mayor had written a letter, and he had no choice.

Mankiw was quietly eating the biscuits and drinking the light brine.

He didn’t even look at Cole.

Although after Haman became a mutant, Chuck’s attitude had changed completely.

Before that, Chuck hadn’t said that only Haman could take them to Mount Roman.

And according to Mankiw’s information.

The previous guide was already the best one apart from Haman.

But the best guide was just like that.

He wasn’t even able to find the way and was crushed by the dinosaurs.

“Captain, think about it. This kid is so unreliable now.”

Cole didn’t stop trying to persuade him.

“Maybe he’ll be even more unreliable in the future.”

“I’ve long heard that the refugees in the market town have low moral standards. I didn’t expect it to be so low!”

“Shut up!” Mankiw finished his biscuit and criticized, “If you don’t want to go, you can go back by yourself.”

Cole didn’t speak anymore. However, Cole had been arranging staffing and issuing orders along the way.

But in reality, he knew in his heart that the most critical person along the way was Mankiw.

Although the guns in their hands could hurt dinosaurs, they were not the only danger in the wilderness.

Looking at the Red Sun in the sky, the temperature outside the cave was estimated to have reached 60 degrees.

If they returned from here now, as long as they were slightly lost for a while, they would probably never be able to return to the market town.

Since Mankiw disagreed, he could only endure it no matter what Cole thought.

After the sun left, the temperature outside rapidly dropped.

The team started to set out again.

This time, Haman only carried a gun on his back. He walked quickly in the middle of the team.

Cole walked beside Haman. His backpack was almost the amount as Haman’s in the morning.

Mankiw walked to the front of the team. He was at least ten meters away from Haman.

If Haman wanted to cause trouble, it would only take two seconds when there’re two or three people at most left in the team.

That was why these city people didn’t know anything about life in the market town.

They only knew that it was bitter and dirty.

Their knowledge was limited here.

Without experiencing this life, they would never understand.

They would never know what the refugees would do when they had the chance.

If Mankiw were eliminated, Haman’s first choice would be to kill everyone in the team and return to the market town.

Not just Haman, but anyone in the town would do the same with his power.
