Journey to the witch world

Chapter 205 The cabin in the woods

"Unknown energy magnetic field..." Enzo's eyes flashed.

Ahead, the seemingly peaceful primeval forest was a bit strange. When you raised your head, you could only see the endless blue sky without a single cloud, as if it were a still portrait.

Enzo stopped where he was, pondering for a moment, then took a deep breath and walked towards the forest ahead.

No matter where this place is, sitting still and waiting for death is not an option. If some clues can be found in the forest, Enzo will have a chance to analyze his current situation.

In the ancient primeval forest, there are tall and thick trees all around. The lush black and green branches and leaves spread in the sky, almost connecting together. The dark and depressing environment is suffocating.

Enzo walked through the forest, every move he made was extremely cautious, and he was even more vigilant in his heart.

Although the detection function of the chip was interfered with and could not generate a data map of the surroundings, the scanning and recording functions could still be used, so Enzo recorded the map of the surrounding forest as he moved forward.

"Zhizhi...what kind of monster is that?"

"It looks so strange!"

"I know! I know! I heard Granny Ona say that it was a human being, Zhizhi."

Whispering sounds echoed around him, and Enzo's heart moved. He immediately turned on the visual function of the chip, and a light blue luster appeared in his eyes.

He turned his head and looked around. On a tree not far away, he saw several fluffy little things, dragging their big tails and jumping flexibly between the branches.

"Squirrel?" Enzo's eyes narrowed.

The appearance of squirrels in the forest seems to be a very common thing, but the whispers coming from their mouths seem a bit fantasy.

"Zhizhi! It's looking over, run!"

As if sensing Enzo's gaze, several squirrels jumping on the branches quickly disappeared among the tree crowns, leaving only one bold one still in place.

Enzo hurriedly walked over, but he was afraid of scaring the last squirrel and did not dare to approach rashly. He stopped three meters in front of the tree.

"Zhizhi! Are you a human from outside?"

Before Enzo could speak, the bold squirrel spoke. Its dark eyes were full of curiosity, and its fluffy appearance made people feel good about him.

"Hello, my name is Enzo."

Enzo thought for a moment and said, "Excuse me, where is this place?"

"This is the black forest." said the squirrel.

"Black Forest?" Enzo's eyes flashed, and he asked, "Do you know where the Night Maze is?"

"Night maze? What is that?" The squirrel looked confused.

Enzo thought for a while and asked, "Then do you know how to get out of here?"

"Sorry, I don't know."

The squirrel shook his head and said, "I have lived in the Black Forest since I was born, and I have never left here."

After saying that, Squirrel seemed to have remembered something, and suddenly his eyes lit up and said, "By the way, if you want to leave the Black Forest, Granny Ona must have a way. I will take you to find her!"

After that, the squirrel jumped off the branch and ran towards the depths of the forest. Enzo hesitated and quickly followed.

Following the footsteps of the little squirrel, Enzo walked all the way through the forest. He quickly lost the direction around him, but the chip recorded his route.

Not long after, Enzo had gone deep into the black forest.

"Follow quickly, Granny Ona's hut is right ahead." The little squirrel jumped up to a big tree nimbly and said to the front.

Enzo pushed aside the branches in front of him and looked forward. The scene suddenly became clear. It was a clearing in the forest with an exquisite cabin inside.

"Grandma Ona, we have a guest."

The little squirrel jumped to the door of the wooden house and shouted inside.

Crunch!

The door of the wooden house was pushed open a gap, and an old woman with white hair and a kind face slowly walked out. First she threw a pine cone at the little squirrel, and then she turned her attention to Enzo.

"Welcome, outsider."

Old lady Ona had a kind face and said with a smile: "This forest has not been set foot in by outsiders for a long time. You are the first one in so many years."

Enzo did not step forward and remained alert.

"Tell me why you're here, outsider." Old lady Ona wasn't angry either, she still kept smiling.

"I want to know how to get out of this forest."

Enzo pondered for a moment and then spoke.

"It's easy to leave the Black Forest, just keep walking in this direction." Old lady Ona answered cheerfully, pointing in one direction.

"The target's heartbeat is steady, breathing rate is normal, and no signs of lying have been found."

In his mind, the sound of the chip rang, which meant that the direction given by the old lady Ona could indeed leave the Black Forest. She was not lying, which slightly relieved Enzo's doubts.

"If you want to leave the Black Forest, you'll have to walk a long way." Old lady Ona reminded her again and said, "It's going to get dark soon. Do you want to come in and take a rest?"

Enzo hesitated and nodded.

Then, old lady Ona opened the door of the wooden house and welcomed Enzo in with a smile.

Entering the wooden house, the surrounding environment seems very warm, with a charcoal fire burning in the fireplace and a pot of daffodils placed by the window, exuding a strange fragrance, like a fairy tale world.

"Zhizhi, it's that human being."

"There's an outsider I've never seen before!"

There were whispers in his ears. Enzo turned his head and saw a few squirrels gathering together and talking in the corner of the wooden house. When Enzo looked over, he timidly got under the bed.

"Never mind, young man."

Old lady Ona smiled gently and said, "The little ones have never seen strangers, so they are inevitably a little shy."

"Have you always lived here?"

Enzo came to the wooden table in the room and sat down on a chair woven from tree vines.

"Yeah! It's always been me."

Old woman Ona's face was filled with memories, and she said, "For so many years, since the goddess of the night fell asleep, I have been guarding this forest. I have almost forgotten what the outside world is like."

"Are you a believer of the goddess of the night?" Enzo's eyes flashed.

"That's right! I am the most loyal servant of the Night Goddess." Old woman Ona said firmly and nodded.

"Then... do you know the maze of night?" Enzo asked tentatively.

"Of course, that's where the goddess sleeps."

Old Granny Ona nodded and said, "Before she fell asleep under the Temple of the Night Goddess, an oracle was sent down. All believers were not allowed to approach the Dark Labyrinth. One day in the future, there will be a human from the main world who will bring her Wake up from your slumber!”

After saying that, Old Lady Ona raised her head and looked at Enzo with burning eyes.
