Iron Powder and Spellcaster

Chapter 15 Emergencies (Part 2)

The visitor was wearing summer clothes, but he was thin and his body shape was far different from Bard.

Winters recognized immediately that the man was not Bud. Moreover, the visitor did not bring a weapon such as a halberd, which meant that he was not an officer cadet on night duty.

I really caught an escapee! Winters couldn't laugh or cry.

What a coincidence, the patrolman didn't catch anyone, but he, being lazy, caught one.

The person intercepted by Winters was also stunned. He clearly saw that the patrolling officers and students had walked away, so he chose to run out.

Unexpectedly, he suddenly sat up half of his body on the dark stone table on the roadside, thinking he had encountered a ghost.

"Stop! What grade are you in?" Winters was angry and his tone became harsh involuntarily.

I never thought that the other party would not talk to me at all. The man ducked down and ran away, passing by Winters and heading straight for the residential area.

Winters didn't react for a moment. He was stunned for a few seconds before he realized that the other party had actually run away.

Damn it! I was caught by the squad leader while escaping from bed. Instead of admitting my mistake and begging for mercy, how dare I just run away?

This made Winters' lungs explode with anger. He took a step forward and chased after him: "Stop! Dare you run? Why are you running?"

Winters was taller and more agile than the sleeper. In this race, although the opponent gained some opportunities by jumping the gun, they were not as good as Winters after all.

Before he ran thirty meters, Winters had already caught up with him.

"Can you outrun a monk or outrun a monastery?" Winters yelled, grabbing the man's shoulders from behind and pulling the man down with a sudden force.

It wasn't until he grabbed the man's shoulder that Winters realized something was wrong: the man was wearing a hood and covering his face, his shoulders were slender and soft, and he was not as light as a man. He would fall over with a tug... No! It's a woman! There are no female cadets in the military academy! It's a thief!

The female thief was pulled out of balance by Winters, fell backwards and fell heavily to the ground, grunting in pain.

Although the other party was a thief, she was still a woman. Winters was a little embarrassed because he couldn't hold back.

But in the blink of an eye, the female thief had already stood up. She pulled out the dagger without saying a word, and without giving Winters any time to react, she pounced towards Winters like a lynx.

The gleaming dagger plunged straight into Winters' chest.

Even though Winters had an absolute advantage in height, weight, and strength, he was still caught off guard by this ferocious woman.

It was the instinct developed through practicing swordsmanship for many years that saved Winters. He subconsciously waved his right arm and deflected the dagger.

Winters suffered a deep stab wound on the outside of his right arm, preventing the dagger from entering his chest.

But then, the female thief's shoulder hit Winters hard in the heart.

Winters was knocked off his feet, lost his center of gravity and fell to the ground.

The female thief refused to let go. She rode on Winters, pressed the dagger with her whole body weight, and stabbed Winters' neck hard.

Two consecutive moves, each move is fatal.

Winters ignored the intense pain in his right arm and subconsciously crossed his hands to hold the other person's arm.

This is a prerequisite for grappling. As long as the force is used appropriately, the dagger can be twisted away.

However, caught off guard, Winters had forgotten all his skills and just used brute force to push the opponent away.

At the moment when the two were in a stalemate, Wintersford reached his heart.

Ike's voice rang in his head - "Why not burn your hair?"

Without even having time to use gestures, Winters went directly into casting mode.

He resisted the strong squeezing and stinging sensations and activated the ignition technique with all his strength, pouring magic power into the hair exposed under the opponent's hood.

First there was smoke, then a little flame, and finally the woman's hair burst into flames with a bang.

The flame then ignited the hood, and the opponent's top burned like a torch.

At first, the woman didn't feel anything yet.

She smelled the burning smell first, and then felt the sharp sting of flames burning her skin.

The woman who killed Winters in cold blood one second, jumped up from Winters screaming, took off her hood, and beat her hair desperately.

The danger to his life was temporarily lifted, but Winters couldn't care less about pursuing the female thief.

He quickly took out the whistle issued to the night patrol from his satchel and blew it loudly.

The duty of the sentry is not to eliminate the intruder, but to warn his companions in time.

The sharp whistle pierced the silent night, and Winters used this to inform Bader and other students standing on the night guard of the situation, and at the same time, he also hoped that they would come to support him as soon as possible.

Although his opponent was a woman whose strength and weight were far inferior to Winters, this ruthless style of making every move that threatened his life made him feel frightened.

When the woman heard the whistle, regardless of the flames still burning on her head, she turned and rushed towards the alley in the residential area.

Winters followed closely, but never thought that the other party would throw his hand and throw the dagger at him.

The dagger will pass by Winters, just a finger's width away, and he will almost get another cut on his body.

Winters gave chase. Suddenly, severe pain came from the soles of his feet, as if some sharp object had pierced his boots and dug into the soles of his feet.

Unable to run any longer, he panted and groped for the soles of his boots, and finally pulled out a metal object. He held it in front of his eyes and understood what was going on.

It turned out that the female thief had accidentally spread the caltrops all the way. It was dark at night and he couldn't see anything on the ground, so he stepped on them.

After suffering several losses in a row, Winters almost went crazy.

When he looked up again, he saw that the woman with flaming hair had disappeared into an invisible alley.

These small alleys in residential areas have no planning at all, they are just gaps left during the construction of houses. With seven twists and turns, it extends in all directions.

Once the female thief entered the alley, Winters had no hope of catching up with her. Winters was also worried that the female thief would ambush him at a corner, so he did not enter the alley rashly.

Tribulus is a very unethical weapon, especially if it is spread at the exit of a busy alley, nearby residents will be in great pain tomorrow...

Winters stood for a while and then walked back aggrievedly.

After the brief but intense life-and-death struggle, he felt terrified.

No one would be on the verge of death without feeling fear. If he had just a little bit less luck or a little slower reaction, he would probably be dead now.

He never expected that Ye Gang could kill someone?

His right hand was wet. Looking under the moonlight, Winters found that his hand was covered with a dark, viscous liquid, which was blood.

There was a deep wound on his right arm, and the sleeves of Xia Changfu were soaked with blood.

The effects of the adrenaline wore off, and the fatigue and pain doubled over Winters.

He had nothing on hand to treat the wound, so he clenched his left fist and clamped it under the armpit of his right arm, hoping to stop the bleeding.

As he was walking, he noticed the reflection of metal on the ground - it was the dagger.

Trophies?

Winters picked up the dagger. There was a small, palm-sized square package beside the dagger, and he picked it up as well.

The fabric outside the package feels good to the touch and seems to be silk. That means it's not trash thrown by someone else, but something that fell out when the woman put out the fire on her hair.

Winters stuffed two things into his satchel and continued walking to the stone table.

The sound of heavy running gradually approached, and Bud ran over.

Bud was surprised to see that Winters was sweating profusely, his left hand was tucked under his right armpit, and his right arm was completely soaked in blood.

"I heard a whistle...what's going on?"

"There was a woman..." Winters felt that he might be a little dizzy due to blood loss: "It seemed to be a thief who ran out of the school with a dagger. I lit her hair on fire, and then she ran away ”

"What? Female thief? Where did the female thief come from?" The amount of information made Bard a little overwhelmed. He quickly distinguished the priorities: "Don't worry about the thief! Stop the bleeding quickly! Go back to the duty room first! Where did the thief go? ?”

Winters had both hands occupied, so he could only point with his head.

"Are you sure...you are setting fire to the female thief's hair?" Bud suddenly asked as he looked in the direction in which the female thief was escaping.

"Unless the hair on her head isn't called hair!" Winters didn't understand why Bud asked this nonsense.

But then he was stunned.

The sky has been dyed red by the flames.
