Into the Zombie World

Chapter 258: Angry Ogis

Croco was the one to arrive first and he immediately reported the things he witnessed during his survey. Based on his report, Jellan came to know that there were actually at least five zombies around that group of Java Apple trees.

Some time later, Ogis circled around them as he finally descended atop a branch near them. He returned late as he also took this chance to search for the eagle chick that he was courting before.

He also recounted what he saw and according to him, aside from the five zombies Croco encountered, there was actually another four at the center of the Java Apple Trees. And it seems that two of them were actually quite strong according to Ogis' calculation. They are at least at the second level.

However, Jellan ignored that detail as she was already at the peak of the second level now. If only she had the right amount of apocalypse virus, she could even try to break through to the next level. Nevertheless, she also knew that even if she does have the necessary amount of apocalypse virus, breaking through towards the next level was still difficult. She did not experience it first hand but she still felt that it was really the case.

On another hand, Ogis also excitedly reported that he saw the eagle chick he was courting before. And just like what he guessed earlier, she was really held hostage by the zombies. She was also heavily injured and could only stay at the top of the Java Apple tree. She built a small nest for herself as she waited for her injuries to heal and for Ogis, her suitor, to rescue her.

Fortunately, it seems that the strongest zombie could not jump or climb that high, or else, she would surely have been eaten by them a long time ago.

"If it's only them then it should not be a problem for us to attack them directly," Jellan said with a confident tone.

She was already a peak level two and she was confident in facing at least two level two zombies as long as they aren't as strong as Nile. Aside from that, she also sensed that the three mutated pets were actually quite strong themselves, especially Ogis with his great speed in the air and Croco with his stealthy maneuvers. As for Maximo the carabao, Jellan thought it would be better for him to be the tank or the meat shield of the team with his sturdy body armor and huge body.

The others looked at each other for a moment before they ultimately nodded their heads. They could only agree with her as they knew she would not let them disagree either.

"It's settled then, let's go!"

Jellan said as she pointed the sword in her hand forwards.

Ogis flew upwards while Croco blended in with the leaves around them. As for Jellan and Maximo, they rushed towards the 'party area' directly.

A zombie soon appeared in front of them and seeing it's flimsy and rotting body, Maximo only snorted as he hit that zombie head on.

It was only a level one zombie and with Maximo's recent strength increase, the zombie's body was immediately flung away like a broken kite. It landed a few meters away with all of its limbs twisted in a strange way.

Seeing that it still hadn't died, Maximo just ran towards it and stomped it's head forcely. Brain matter exploded around as the zombie finally stopped moving, it was dead with a single stomp of the heavy Maximo.

Meanwhile, Croco and Ogis have also started confronting their own foe with their battle style. Croco snuck up behind a zombie while Ogis dived down for a strike.

Jellan was riding atop Maximo while observing everything around them. The animals easily eliminated the other zombies so she had nothing to do other than to observe while searching for perfectly ripe Java Apple.

Considering the mutation, Jellan only looked for the Java Apple's that was more than a fist in size. She also took notice of the java apple's that were somehow glowing and decided to mark them to pluck them later on after dealing with all the threats around them.

Some time later, the three pets have already eliminated all the level one zombies around the area. The only zombies left were the four who were at the center of the group of java apple trees that was also holding the female eagle hostage.

There were four level two zombies and it seems that the strongest of them all, the leader who was just right below the java apple tree that the female eagle was on, was as strong as Ogis in terms of level.

They gathered once more as they observed the four level two zombie's from afar. The leader zombie who was as strong as Ogis has its head looking above the java apple tree, or more precisely, it was staring at the female eagle that was still heavily injured.

Jellan saw that there were a lot of feathers below the tree so she assumed that the eagle might have fallen from the tree many times before, hence the reason why the zombies no longer tried to climb the trees and just waited for her to fall again.

Looking at the situation of the female eagle, Jellan realized that half of her body was no longer in the nest that she built. In fact, only her claws were the ones that were still holding on to the nest firmly, a light shake and there's a high chance she would directly fall.

Seeing the situation, Ogis feather's stood to end in anger. The eagle chick he was courting was actually treated badly like that.

Unforgivable!

At this moment, the zombies finally discovered them as they turned their towards them at the same time.

Seeing the newcomers, the leader zombie roared and pointed his hand towards them, ordering his henchmen to attack the newcomers.

"Attack!"

Jellan did not wait for the zombies to approach them as she also ordered the pets to confront them head on.

SHRIEK!

Ogis let out an ear piercing cry as he flew at an extreme speed towards the leader zombie who was threatening the life of the female eagle he fancy.

He looked back at his companions and released another scream, as if telling them that he'll handle that leader zombie and then save his damsel in distress.
