Imperial Overlord

: Seventy-three Libyan construction

In the Libyan basin, under the crude oil well iron frame, several German experts are carefully checking the working condition of the parts above.

The conditions here are very backward. It can be said that the backwardness makes the Germans feel hopeless. It's a huge project to get oil out of here.

Although many German workers have come here from thousands of miles to join in the construction of large oil fields.

But here is still poor and backward, and there is not even a decent road.

The oil that was rushed out was the most primitive crude oil, and the black liquid that had not been processed at all was almost the same as what was called "kerosene" in the Middle Ages.

Even if the crude oil is directly transported in this way, due to the limitations of mining conditions and transportation conditions, there is only a little output per day.

But the good news is still one after another. According to the environment here and the conclusions detected, German geologists calculate that there is a shockingly huge oil field here.

With this conclusion, no matter how big the investment is, it is worth it. Many Italians and even French came here and joined the money-making frenzy.

Building an oil field is not something that can be accomplished in one or two days. Every screw here has to be shipped from Europe, and there is hardly any self-producing ability.

However, huge interests tend to lead people to make huge investments here. Whether it is war or peace, the discovery of a giant oil field is great news.

"The local construction engineering teams are already here, and a total of 35 engineering teams are building houses." An engineer looked at the busy construction site in the distance and introduced his leader.

Originally, there was almost nothing here, but now it is almost the same as a small city in Libya.

Houses full of local ethnic styles have risen from the ground. Although the highest is only three stories or even most of them are two stories, it is still under continuous construction.

The cistern and some water diversion facilities are also improving rapidly. After all, more and more people are stationed here.

In order to speed up the construction of the project, Germany and Italy requisitioned a large number of migrant workers locally and desperately built houses. You must know that many workers, including German engineers, need to have long-term housing in the local area.

Similarly, the garrison cannot live in tents all the time, so a large number of barracks are also being built, and because of the simple structure, they are built much faster than ordinary houses.

Compared to the days when the oil was first extracted, it has become prosperous to the extent that the locals envy.

The Germans who came from afar brought many trucks and cars, as well as more powerful half-track armored vehicles.

The steel cranes were erected, which made the transportation very convenient. The materials rushing over from Europe in the port were so piled up that the British spies could not even count them.

The Germans brought 50 88mm anti-aircraft guns from the mainland, and the Italians deployed more air defense units here.

During the day there are regular patrols by Italian fighter jets to drive out British reconnaissance planes trying to get close. At night, the newly refitted ME-110 night fighter took off to ensure the absolute safety of the airspace.

On the whole construction site, the lights are bright like daytime, and everyone is working overtime to rush the construction, striving to turn this place into a place where Nissan can compete for gold as soon as possible.

A secret base is also being built in a place more than 70 kilometers away from here, closer to the port, where the water source is more abundant.

Soon, these two places will be connected by pipelines and become a complete oil production base.

Because it is closer to the port, the construction is faster, and it is also convenient to deploy larger machinery and equipment for oil refining and the production of supporting petroleum products.

In less than half a month, the freighter between Italy and Tunisia set a record for Italian shipping.

It turns out that although the Italians are not very good at war, or they are not ready for war, they are ready to do business right away.

"We can only transport a few barrels of crude oil here, and go to France to deceive people." In the distance from the oil well, a German officer said to his adjutant with a cigarette in his mouth.

While smoking, he squinted at the 88mm caliber cannon under the camouflage net beside him: "I heard that it will take less than three months to produce finished products such as gasoline."

"If it wasn't for this, who would want to come to a place where birds don't shit." The adjutant looked at his feet in disgust. The boots were full of dust, and the original color was almost invisible.

The two of them had just arrived here, and they were still wearing the classic German Wehrmacht uniforms that were not suitable for the desert climate, while the ordinary German soldiers in the distance were wearing a different style.

These ordinary soldiers are naked and wear dome sun hats, just like explorers. The commander hung the binoculars directly around his neck, hanging over his bare chest.

Even the neatly dressed soldiers are desert shorts, big-toe shoes, and short-sleeved yellow military uniforms—a far cry from the familiar German military uniforms.

More than 3,000 German soldiers have been transported to Libya. Most of these soldiers are near oil fields and are responsible for ensuring the safety of oil fields.

Most of these soldiers were the Waffen SS, and they were part of the local air defense force of Goering. The weapons they bring are also very targeted: 37mm anti-aircraft guns, newly purchased Bofors anti-aircraft guns, and 88mm anti-aircraft guns!

However, apart from being able to see their identities from the eagle emblem on the chest and the logo on the collar, they are actually no different from the Wehrmacht.

"What is pressing over there? It looks strange." Looking at the iron shelf being erected on the high **** in the distance, the adjutant asked.

With a cigarette in his mouth, the German officer squinted his eyes and replied nonchalantly: "The new toy of the Air Force, I heard that it is an improved model of the radar used on the Admiral Scheer."

That antenna is indeed a radar, and it is the latest German warning radar. It was sent here as an emphasis on the Libyan oil fields on the one hand and as a test of such equipment on the other.

Because of Li Le, the fake head of state, Germany has now begun to attach importance to the development and deployment of radar equipment.

Although it only took a month, German engineers with wisdom and accumulation have come up with two radar devices with good performance.

Compared with the radars equipped by the British at the same time, although they are slightly insufficient in size and other performances, they really fill the gaps in Germany in this regard.

"What's the use of this thing? I heard that it can detect planes coming from far away?" the adjutant asked curiously.

The officer took the last puff of cigarette, threw the cigarette **** on the ground, rolled it with his foot, glanced at his subordinate, and took the lead to walk back: "Don't ask what you shouldn't ask, just do what we should do. already."

Now that the Italian army in North Africa is stronger than it has been in real history, with the construction of the oil field, the army deployed here will only be more and more powerful.

Because of Mussolini's attention, more than 10,000 black shirt elites have been transferred to Libya to strengthen the defense of border areas.

And Italy is planning to invade Egypt, Mussolini intends to use a once and for all attack to completely protect the Libyan oil fields.

But Li Le was not optimistic about this attack. He didn't even want to believe that the Italians could achieve any decent results in Egypt.

Even now, thanks to the tireless efforts of the Italian Navy, the Italian army in Libya is much stronger than the real history.

In the distance, smoke billowed all the way, and soon a barrel truck with a German army logo stopped in front of the two German officers.

On the car, a signal soldier jumped out of the car and stood at attention and saluted: "Victory! Fuhrer!"

"Victory! Führer!" The officer raised his arm in return, and then took a document from the other side.

"There is a convoy from Tripoli to arrive here this afternoon... There are 40 oil workers and related oil extraction equipment~www.readwn.com~ The signalman reported with his chin up.

The officer signed his name on the document, then nodded and said, "Okay, I will arrange for them."

"Another message." The signal soldier put away the document signed by the officer, and then took out another document from the leather bag he was carrying: "News from the Italian Air Force."

"The reconnaissance plane that expelled the British three times? And they were all on the route that flew through here?" The officer looked at the text on it and frowned.

After all, the British were eyeing this place, and it seemed that the other party didn't want to let Germany and Italy develop here and build their own oil fields.

"The Italian Air Force reminded us to pay attention to the hidden dangers of enemy air raids at night." The signal soldier put away his documents and spoke to the officer.

The German officer nodded. He is the supreme commander in charge of this place. How dare he let anything go wrong here?

"There are about 200 aircraft stationed by the British in North Africa, and the intelligence department of the Führer previously determined this number at 168." The intelligence in the hands of the German officers was very accurate.

At this time, the number of British North African Air Force aircraft was not large, and it was not easy to carry out air strikes deep into Libya.

"A reminder to the night fighter troops and let them pay attention recently." Finally, in order to be safe, the officer issued an order to let his troops pay attention.

"I don't know when it will be built and how it will perform." With concern, the officer looked at the radar station being built in the distance.
