Chapter 34 Group of Four, Assemble

Success!

The wooden stick suddenly struggled and flew out of the troll's hand.

The troll opened his little eyes and looked at the stick in bewilderment.

The huge, heavy stick rose slowly but surely into the air.

The wooden stick floated higher and higher, almost touching the top of the classroom.

Harry and Ron gritted their teeth and insisted, the veins on their necks jumping.

Rigg pressed down on Hermione's wand, who was still struggling to maintain the height of the stick.

Hermione withdrew her wand and held it to her chest in surprise.

He looked worriedly at Rigg, then at Harry and Ron.

Hermione's frown deepened.

After she recovered, her intelligence and thinking ability returned.

She didn't know what Rigg's plan was, but she looked at Harry who was barely holding on and Ron who had never successfully used the levitation spell.

It would be better to let her continue the levitation spell.

As soon as Hermione opened her mouth, Rigg shook his head quietly and said nothing, but pointed at the troll who was looking at the stick intently.

Clever Hermione needed no explanation.

She blinked her big eyes and carefully covered her mouth with her hands for fear of attracting the troll's attention.

In an instant, the tail of the huge wooden stick sank and continued to tremble unsteadily.

Only the head of the stick, which Rigg was responsible for lifting, was still raised high.

Harry and Ron watched the wooden stick suddenly sink and looked towards Rigg in panic.

Harry actually looked at Ron first.

Unexpectedly, Ron was still insisting, but Hermione put down her wand.

Rigg shook his head at them and silently gestured for Harry and Ron to lower their wands as well.

In the quiet bathroom.

The troll tilted his head and looked at the wooden stick, then waved it casually without catching the wooden stick.

Out of trust in Rigg, Harry and Ron also stopped using the levitating spell and lowered their wands.

They couldn't hold on much longer. They had never floated such a heavy object before.

Professor Flitwick only used feathers when teaching the levitation spell!

Now the pressure is all on Rigg.

Rigg gripped his wand tightly with both hands and gritted his teeth.

The troll was still looking at the stick, wondering what was going on in its barely there brain.

Rigg adjusted the angle and height of the wooden stick and aimed it at the giant monster.

The giant monster's eyes were filled with that tall wooden stick.

It watched as the stick suddenly fell rapidly, growing bigger and bigger in its eyes.

Finally, the wooden stick hit its owner's bare head, making an earth-shattering explosion.

The troll swayed in place and fell face down on the floor, like a hill.

There was a boom, and the whole room shook.

The foursome were panting and looking at each other silently.

Did it work?

Is the troll dead?

Rigg nervously clutched his wand and stared at the troll.

If that doesn't work, he's going to be in flames.

After all, it is the only offensive black magic he knows.

Thinking about having to explain it to Principal Dumbledore and the others after using it, Rigg felt dizzy.

Do not use unless necessary!

Ron stood there, staring at what he had done, his wand still raised high in his hand.

Finally it was Hermione who spoke first.

"Is it—dead?"

"I don't think so," Rigg said. "It was probably just knocked unconscious."

Harry, who was clutching his wand, didn't know yet what a terrible encounter he had successfully avoided.

Rig pulled Hermione and walked around the troll to meet Harry and Ron at the door.

Suddenly there was a violent banging on the door and loud footsteps.

All four people in the room looked up.

They didn't realize how much noise there had been. Others must have heard the violent collision and the roar of the troll.

A moment later, Professor McGonagall burst into the room, closely followed by Snape.

Professor Quirrell, who informed the auditorium that there was a troll, was at the back.

Quirrell glanced at the troll and let out a weak sob.

He sat on a toilet that had not been smashed by the troll, clutching his chest tightly.

Harry recalled the first time Quirrell saw him in the Leaky Cauldron.

"Po-po-Potter," Professor Quirrell stammered a bunch of words and grabbed his hand, "I'm unspeakably happy to see you. "

The matter was settled, and Harry was relieved. Just thinking of Professor Quirrell's usual appearance made him couldn't help but laugh.

The foursome stood together, waiting for the professor to inspect them.

Ron looked at Harry and snickered quietly, poking him with his wand.

Harry finished talking about his previous contact with Professor Quirrell in a low voice, which made Hermione, who was in shock, couldn't help but smile.

After the battle, the foursome were muttering in the corner.

Snape bent down to look at the troll.

Professor McGonagall looked at the quartet.

Rigg had never seen her look so angry. Professor McGonagall was always kind to him.

Her lips were pale.

"What the hell are you playing?" said Professor McGonagall, with cold anger in her voice.

She was really afraid that she would be late and the students would be harmed.

"You are lucky not to be killed by it. Why don't you just stay in the dormitory?"

Snape gave Harry a quick, probing look.

Harry and Ron quickly looked down at the ground as if there were flowers on it.

Rigg looked directly at the professors, and Hermione hesitated to speak.

"Please don't, Professor McGonagall - they're looking for me."

"Miss Granger!"

Hermione licked her lips nervously. She had never lied to her professors.

"I came to see the troll because I... I'm in a bad mood today." Hermione still said it because she was nervous.

"I thought I could learn well, but I kept losing to Rigg."

Although she was making excuses, Hermione really wanted to cry when she said this.

His eyes turned red immediately.

Professor McGonagall heard this and looked at Hermione.

I closed my eyes helplessly. I feel my temples throbbing.

"If they hadn't found me, I would have been dead by now. Rigg, Harry and Ron cast a levitation spell and saved me. When they arrived, the troll was about to swallow me whole."

Rigg also added: "It was Hermione's roommate who told us Hermione's location in the auditorium. Professor Quirrell hadn't informed us of the troll at that time."

"Oh - if that's the case..." Professor McGonagall stared at them.

"Hermione doesn't know about the troll, so we were worried about encountering her when she came out. And we didn't see the professor at that time, so we went directly to find Hermione because of time constraints."

Hermione hung her head, the guilt of lying to the professor overwhelming her.

If it was revealed that she was crying and hiding in the toilet because of Ron, Harry and the others, Hermione was worried that the trio who saved her would also be punished.

Now she was no longer angry or sad, and felt that there was a tacit understanding surrounding them.

Just like friends.

Ron and Harry stared at Hermione with their mouths open.

She was the last person likely to break school rules, and now she was lying about breaking them to keep them out of trouble. It was almost like Snape started handing out sweets to everyone, it was unbelievable.

"Miss Granger, Gryffindor will lose five points for this," said Professor McGonagall.

"I'm very disappointed in you. If you're not hurt at all, it's best to go back to Gryffindor Castle. The students are all having Halloween dinner in their houses."

Hermione was really about to cry now, and Professor McGonagall couldn't bear to look away.

Hermione left first with red eyes and a flat mouth.

Professor McGonagall turned to Rigg, Harry and Ron.

"Well, I'd still say you're lucky, not many first-year students can take on a full-grown troll."

Professor McGonagall looked at Rigg and sighed.

She liked the smart students very much, but something always happened to them.

"You have each earned five points for Gryffindor. I will inform Professor Dumbledore of this. You may go."

They hurried out of the room and climbed the two flights of stairs without saying a word.

Finally they could no longer smell the stench of the troll, and they breathed a sigh of relief.

"We should have won by more than ten points," Ron grumbled.

This was when he made a breakthrough and successfully used the levitation spell to save Hermione!

Ron still seemed to be in a dream, feeling that nothing was real.

"Only ten, including the points she deducted from Hermione," Rigg corrected.

"Hermione is so kind, she stepped up and got us out of trouble." Ron admitted, "But don't forget, we did save her."

"If we hadn't locked her up with that thing, she might not have needed to be rescued at all." Harry reminded Ron.

Ron returned to reality now.

The three of them walked slowly all the way to the portrait of the Fat Lady.

"Pig nose." After saying the password, they got in.

The common room was crowded and noisy. Everyone was eating the food that was served.

Hermione stood alone at the door, waiting for them.

Harry and Ron looked at each other, and they were pushed by Rigg.

Then, no one of them looked at each other, they just lowered their heads and said something.

"Thank you Hermione, we said the wrong thing before and I'm sorry."

He hurried to his plate.

Ron and Harry's faces were red and they were looking at their plates in a daze.

Rigg didn't have the awkward mentality of them who rarely lowered their heads to apologize. He picked up a slice of baguette that was grilled to perfection and coated with honey, and ate happily.

But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend.

The foursome successfully formed a team! I have always felt that three people are very stable, but a gentler and more emotionally intelligent person is needed to complete the foursome, so that many heartbreaking little things can be avoided. Like Professor Lupine in Harry's father's group. Of course Rigg can't just be Lupin, he's super strong
