Episode 86 – Me And Yukki

“Yo, Naru.”

“Good morning, Yukki.”

I wonder how many years have passed since Yukki and I exchanged this greeting.

Yukki is my childhood friend and my only best friend. The way he talks is a bit flirty, but he is actually a tough guy. He has never been with anyone yet.

Becoming childhood friends aren’t just “when”, they’re “unnoticed”. But I remember well how I became friends with Yukki.

It may come as a surprise to those who know me now, but the reason why Yukki and I became best friends was because of judo.

We learned judo at the police station where my mother was working at the time, and we deepened our friendship there.

I don’t remember how many times we competed against each other, but I have never been able to beat Yukki.

Both Yukki and I quit judo, but now we have good memories of it.

“Naru, I need to consult you about something.”

It was unusual for Yukki to ask me for advice. But I owe a lot to him. This is my chance to return the favor.

“Anything I can do to help.”

“I knew you would say that !”

I’m glad you think so.

“So, what can I do for you?”

“Well, actually, I’d like you to be my model.”

“M…..m…..model? What kind of model?”

Yukki whispered in my ear.

“Runa. It’s you, isn’t it?”

He….found out.

“H….how !?”

“I didn’t know at first either, but when I saw Rin, I understood. You two are alike.”

“Ahaha…..that’s what you mean……”

“You know I joined the art club, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Actually, the head of the light music club, who I knew was in the same class as you, asked me to join the club, and I couldn’t say no……”

“I see……”

It’s a request from Yukki….and I’m not reluctant to do it, but you’re going to ask me to do my own makeup……

“So, can I ask Kubota senpai too?”

“Eh……Iori too……”

“You don’t have to stop all the time, as long as I could get the two of you to play a song together and take one picture of the angle I wanted to portray.”

I’m not sure I can decide on my own if Iori is going to be with me, but it’s a rare request from my best friend, and I’d like to do it…..

“Okay, I’ll talk to Iori during lunch break.”

“Thank you, I owe you.”

No, no, I’m the one who owes you a lot…..

It’s a bit melancholy to be Runa, but if it’s my best friend’s request, I have no choice.

But I was secretly hoping that Iori would refuse, so I might be a scumbag after all.
