I have Nine Lives

Chapter 95: Sparron continent war (4)

The aftermath of the beach assault was short and uneventful, most of the defenders had run away after they found out that they couldn't do anything to Felix and the people in the trenches were vaporized by their own attack.

Manitola started to walk making her way through the crowd, finally reaching the trench she looked down into it trying to see if the person that she saw when they first arrived died there.

She looked around but she couldn't see anything that resembled her friend, they were all carbonized to the point that nothing was recognizable. At this point, she hoped that her friend left the trench before Felix attacked.

But it was unlikely, she knew her friend well and she wasn't that strong, nor that talented so she must have been put in the trench to defend the important people, he had seen a few people she knew man the hextech cannons, even though they weren't friends they were acquaintances, she wasn't sure if they saw her though.

Lindo approached her and seeing how she was so thoughtful made him give her some space, there were times that a person didn't need to be comforted, they just needed some time with them so they could sort their thoughts out.

Felix looked over the whole army as he basked in his glorious win before taking off the armor and letting it return to his mind palace, there was no reason to keep it on at this point.

Landers was surprised by Felix's armor but he stopped thinking about it afterward, who knew where he got it from? God's chosen were rather mysterious individuals so there was no reason for him to snoop around Felix's secrets as he was a trusted person of the tribe.

Felix got away from the eyes of the crowd as their stares started to become a little annoying, they still couldn't believe that Felix got rid of the first defensive base all by himself, while all of them failed after months of grueling fights and thousands of deaths.

Were they really that incompetent or was Felix very strong?

Their morale was rather crushed at the moment but they didn't have to fight anymore so it was good enough.

Lindo walked towards Felix along with Manitola as they laughed awkwardly:

"Well It seems our combination move training wasn't really useful... you did all the work by yourself."

Felix nodded and said trying to console them:

"Well their defense was pretty good so only I would have been able to infiltrate it with the armor that I got from my God."

What Felix said made sense, the trench was too wide and they wouldn't have been able to jump above it even if they were stronger, the people in the trench would have surely shot out some of the knives to impale them and zombify them while they jumped above it.

"Well if you look at it like that, yeah you were the only one who was able to destroy this forward base... let's hope that the other defended points won't be as hard to breakthrough."

Felix nodded, he wasn't sure he would be able to capture other parts of the continent by himself, but now he opened the way for the alliance army.

Of course, he would continue fighting on the continent until it was fully conquered, he decided to start his continental adventure with the Sparron continent, he wanted to fully go through all of the continents of the planet and experience everything the planet could give him before he would go to Vangar, he was really tempted to join them back then but he was also rather angry with Shima's actions against him so he wasn't really ready to forgive them. He needed time to cool down and contemplate along with experiencing some new things.

All of the tents at the beach were packed up as they started to move into the forest, now that they had beaten back the defenders they had to go in further so they could conquer more of the land until they conquered the whole continent!

Of course, this was a very long process and they didn't think they would be able to conquer the whole continent very soon, there were places that even the locals haven't visited yet due to their lacking strength.

The moment the invading party entered the woods they felt eyes looking at them, the eyes seemingly came from everywhere in the forest, Felix, Landers, Lindo, Manitola, and 100,000 lions made up one of the teams as the alliance split up in four directions, now that they have broken through the annoying defense at the beach they knew that it would be easier to fight them in the forest, plus the forest paths weren't big nor long enough to handle 400,000 people.

It was a rather creepy feeling being watched like that.

Landers took the attention of the unit as he said:

"Don't be alarmed, they are not enemies, they are spirits of the forest, the accumulation of Hex energy in the air combined with the fact that the continent is mostly covered with forests created living creatures that reside in the trees, and this isn't the only thing the trees carry, they are also very useful resources that can be made into armors, weapons or even used for other things, they can be sold to the people that create the special bags for an exorbitant price or special goods."

The eyes of every person from the alliance started to glitter as they looked at the trees surrounding them, they ignored the feeling that they were being watched as they couldn't wait to cut some trees down, they have already gathered all of the hextech canons that the resistance dropped and they also did some tests with them, besides the heating period there was also a charging period where the canons couldn't be used because they were inferior goods.

Even though the sparron continent residents had such great resources they didn't bear to cut down the trees because they were also living beings, so they had to fight them with these inferior goods.

Actually, they weren't really good weapons but the ingenuity of the Sparron continent people was what kept the army at bay for months.

While weaker the Sparron continent was more advanced in culture thus their intelligence was higher than those from the other continents who were still stuck in the warring periods, the Sparron continent was actually rather a peaceful one and that was why their people didn't have high battle powers but there were other ways they would be able to fight and the Human tribe was rather happy to help them.

The further they went into the woods the more they felt their backs being watched and at this point, there weren't the nature spirits who were observing them.

Felix could feel his fur stand on end as he was being watched.

His fur standing on end was his body's signal that whatever was looking at him was threatening enough to take his life!

Even Landers stopped as he looked around, he was rather weary himself, he didn't get the same reaction as Felix as what was extremely dangerous to Felix would be something equal to him at worst and weaker than him at best.

The path in the forest was rather dark but the ground below them could still be seen, there were no troubles but the treetops were rather shady.

Suddenly someone from behind shouted:

"THEY ARE IN THE TREES!"

Felix looked up into the trees his eyes were wide as he took two steps backward, a dart almost impaled him in the head.

The moment the dart touched the ground, the ground where Felix was beforehand turned a deep purple and started to smell very toxic.

If the dart hit Felix in the head he would have surely become a pile of mush by now.

Felix frowned, even though he had restored 1 life after the souls of those in the trench were absorbed by his body he didn't want to lose it so quickly.

A soft curse could be heard from above as the people in the trees started to run from tree to tree trying to disappear from the lion tribe's eyes.

However Felix already got their scent and he was faster than them, the moment they tried to escape Felix jumped into the trees and started to chase them, he was rather familiar with tree hopping and the moment they looked back to see if they were being chased, Felix was already in front of them, his paws hit them in the head making them lose balance and fall to the ground below.

There were two women and one man who tried to assassinate Felix. Landers, Lindo, and Manitola already ran ahead of the crowd and arrived seeing their downed bodies they quickly caught them up and tied them together using some iron rope.

Seeing Manitola's face made the captured people shout:

"TRAITOR, YOU HAVE BETRAYED OUR TRIBE, THE PRINCESS OF THE TRIBE IS COLLUDING WITH OUTSIDERS TO KILL HER KIN AND TAKE OVER THE CONTINENT!"

Manitola didn't look well at all as she was being shouted at by people she knew, every person that fought on the battlefield were talented people from the fox tribe and people that had been in contact with Manitola at one point.

Her face scrunched up as she recognized these people, they were attendants that once had taken care of her in her youth.

Landers knew that it wasn't the time for Manitola to see what would happen here so he waved his hand indicating for her to leave, Lindo decided to go with her so she wouldn't feel alone, after all, he was the only person that was connected with her. Felix didn't count as they weren't true friends.

Felix dropped from the trees as he looked at the tied-up people and then at Landers, waiting for his orders.

Landers got closer to the resistance people and took out a small knife from his armor before saying:

"So you want to tell me what you know, or do you want me to start working?"

There was a malevolent expression on his face as he said that, it seemed a round or two of torture were going to commence.
