Xinyuan-6: A four-stage solid rocket with a diameter of 3.5 meters. The first stage is equipped with an S85 solid rocket engine, with a take-off thrust of 85 tons, a take-off mass of 50 tons, and a low-Earth orbit transport capacity of 500 kilograms.

Among them, the Xinyuan-5 family is a multi-purpose recyclable modular general-purpose rocket covering medium and large launch missions, while the Xinyuan-6 family is a solid launch vehicle that can be launched quickly and maneuverably for emergency launch requests.

According to the original plan, H1 can actually be launched by the smaller Xinyuan 5B, which is just right without wasting thrust. Although Xinyuan-6 is an out-and-out disposable small rocket, its advantages are that it is simple to manufacture and has a short cycle. It is very satisfactory when it is needed urgently. It only takes 4 hours from pulling it out to launching.

Of course, the main purpose is to verify the mother engine of the S80, the S700 produced by the system, a 5-meter-diameter single-stage solid rocket engine with a thrust of 700 tons!

The solid rocket motor is completely different from the traditional liquid rocket. Its fuel is a cylindrical solid, and the combustion is from the center to the outer ring.

This leads to its characteristic that the solid rockets can be overlapped to increase the simultaneous burning area during series connection, and the thrust will be doubled.

The thrust is multiplied by how many sections are connected in series.

Aramco's solid rocket booster for launching the space shuttle is composed of four single-stage 300-ton solid rockets connected in series, with a total thrust of 1,200 tons.

If the S700 also has 4 sections in series, then the overall rocket thrust will be an extremely terrifying 2,800 tons.

The total thrust of the 27 engines in the first stage of the Xinyuan 4 giant rocket core is only 6,500 tons, but the total thrust of the four such boosters bundled is 11,200 tons!

Of course, that is deceptive. The thrust of the solid rocket motor is almost unadjustable, and there is no binding structure that can withstand a sudden burst of 10,000 tons of thrust.

A three-section booster with a thrust of 2,100 tons is enough to be bundled with two. This is basically the limit of human materials science at present.

Therefore, solid rockets are a shortcut to high thrust. The only disadvantage is that they are too expensive. Although they can be recycled and reloaded, the most expensive thing is the fuel.
