Estinu then waved his hands elegantly. As he waved, various words popped up above his hands. Soon, those words transformed into golden butterflies and they fluttered around Ella. Golden sparkles were released from their wings and some laid on top of Ella’s head. The butterflies eventually disappeared leaving behind shiny particles on her hair. Once again, he waved his arms, which created a mirror that reflected her sparkling hair.

Ella was astonished by all of this. The magic show was enough to show her the difference between ordinary magic and magic from the Ledeem continent. After the war had ended, magic lost its purpose and began to disappear. Magic that still had a purpose remained. Estinu was a magician with skill and charm. He was skilled at charming a woman’s mind. Not only that he was skilled in engraving and alchemy. He was a worthy man; One that her brother had been looking for. She laughed as she noticed his desperation for Estinu.

‘He likes him so much.’ Ella remembered reading in the novel that Evan tried so hard to persuade Estinu to work for the Constance family. He was so desperate for him that he built a lab, storage room, and even a separate house. It was only after all these gifts, Estinu agreed to work for the Constance family. Because of all these gifts, there were many rumors that her brother at the time was a crazy shopaholic. Although the family had a lot of money to spend, she couldn’t let Evan waste all that money. She had to stop him.

“The magician will stay with our family even without you looking at him like that. Wouldn’t you agree, sir?”

Estinu slightly flinched at that question, but he soon smiled as he looked back at Ella. “Why do you think so, my lady?”

“I’ve heard that magicians don’t really leave their towers much. Sometimes they do visit other places when they’re paid handsomely just like yourself right now. They, however, never show their magic unless they were already paid. I’m sure you want something from me. Don’t you?”

Ella knew what Estinu wanted. Estinu wanted to go into the Royal library and read the Magic Grimoire. It was the only copy left in the world. In the novel, he approached Luciella for a favor only after he had received all those gifts from Evan. Luciella was mad when she found out about his motive and didn’t allow him to go into the library. Ella, on the other hand, wanted to show him the library. She was curious as to why he wanted to read this book so badly.

“I’ll only grant your wish if you decide to become our family’s magician.”

“That’s a very intriguing answer. I’m actually here to become the family’s magician. You don’t actually know what I want, my lady.”

Although she was aware of what he wanted, she pretended not to know. So, she asked, “What do you want?”

“Are you curious about it?”

“Of course. Did you think I wasn’t going to ask about it?”

Estinu appeared to want to say something. Instead, he nodded his head slightly and answered, “After you go to the Royal Palace can you let me into the Royal library?”

“Of course. I’ll do that for you.”

Ella nodded casually unlike Evan whose expression became cold. He warned Estinu, “I don’t like it when people approach me with a hidden motive. You’ll never speak a word about what happened in this room. It won’t be good for either you or Ella. Do you understand?”

“Yes, sir. I wouldn’t have spoken a word about this if she didn’t ask me.”

Evan glared at Estinu. He realized what might have unfolded had Ella not asked Estinu. Through this, he reconfirmed his beloved sister’s wisdom. He looked at her with affectionate eyes. As he turned back to Estinu, his eyes became cold once again. He was surely fit to become the future Duke Constance.

“I see what you were planning to do. I’ll pretend I didn’t find out. Don’t you dare try to play this trick again in the future. Also, be thankful to Ella. If you had followed through with your plan, you would never set foot into the Royal Palace,” warned Evan.

“Understood.”

“I’ve prepared a room and a lab for you. Ask the butler if you need anything and he will serve you.”

Estinu realized his mistake and he bowed for an apology as he left the room. When he left, Evan’s face brightened with happiness. Originally, he had planned to have Estinu as a guest. He even created a budget for his plan to convince him. Fortunately, he didn’t need to use any of it. Thinking about the number of profits he could make with this magician working for the family brought a smile to his face.

“Do you like him that much?”

“Can you see it?”

“I’m sure anyone can see it.”

“I heard that Drolin hired a magician, so I thought we could do the same. Father said that I was going too far with it. Compared to what Drolin did, we practically got him for free. I’m sure father will be pleased,” said Evan as he held up his lukewarm tea to enjoy its scent.

It didn’t appear that his excitement would fade that easily. For now, what’s important to Ella wasn’t the magician nor was it Evan’s future plans. It was now time to deal with the real problem at hand.

“Is Ethan still not good with his highness?”
