Chapter 6: Don’t Hang Up

The Eight Bronze Men of the Shaolin Temple.

It basically meant the Eighteen Arhats — a tactic to train for The True Arhat.

However!

This was a fake book! A fake! Fake! Important matters such as these had to be repeated three times.

Given that The Golden Immune Arhat was essentially the cousin of The True Arhat, and it was an actual magical book that could be used to train for true power, it could be used to further one’s power to achieve new heights.

‘One should only train in the afternoon, when it was hottest, since something unforeseen could happen to one’s body if they trained in the morning or night.

‘There were 306 positions in The Golden Immune Arhat and dozens of variations for each position. Nothing was simple. You would have to go through the book from the easiest to the hardest positions. If one could go through each of the 306 positions step by step and strengthen all 206 bones and 639 muscles in one’s body, one could have bones as hard as metal, have his blood thoroughly replaced, and have a body that transcended the limitations of a normal human. Full immunity. ‘Arhat’ also represented the ability to transcend life and death to achieve Nirvana.’

Fang Zheng thought that the description on the book in his hand was quite peculiar.

About half an hour later, Fang Zheng was soaked in sweat and filled with shock. He blinked several times and muttered in disbelief, “I… unlocked all 306 positions that easily?

“Didn’t it say that I would have to train for at least ten years before being good enough to unlock all 306 positions?”

As each form was connected to another, it would be impossible for a person to continue the next move if they did not master the previous. Each pose was beyond human capability.

Fang Zheng repeated them all to confirm his suspicions.

Another half an hour later, and he had finished all 306 positions without any trouble.

While he had been doing the first 100 moves, his bones and muscles had popped like fireworks. That was to activate all his 206 bones and 639 muscles. He had felt piercing pain within his muscles then, which had been to relax them and promote his blood circulation.

The next 100 moves had produced hormones rapidly all throughout his body.

Fang Zheng felt his adrenaline spike off the charts. It was as if he had super strength. His waist felt like it had a huge, strong elephant channeling energy all over his body. His cells vibrated with life and both his blood circulation and metabolism were sped up. The results of his training surpassed all others by three to five times.

Then came the soreness of his body, when the hormones strengthened each part of it. His skin, muscles, bones, blood vessels, organs, strength, endurance, intelligence, and more were all being pushed to achieve their greatest potential.

Just as he had reached the 300th position—Vroom!

A loud, deafening clang echoed in his ears. As he did these positions, he could feel changes happening in the magnetic fields of his body, as if he had reached a resonance in frequency with the Earth’s magnetic field.

His pores widened and a temperate warmth gushed through him. It infused itself into his blood, bones, and organs, filling him with a comfortable warmth. He felt vigorous and alive, his body dissipating energy particles from the sun. “Was this the Aura of Sunfire myths spoke of?”

Fang Zheng settled on that conclusion for now.

It was no wonder that the book warned him to only train in the afternoon; something bad would have happened if he trained in the morning or night.

Although the heat was mild—mild enough to be ignored even after all 306 positions—well… As the saying goes, many a little makes a mickle.

In four hours of the afternoon, Fang Zheng had unlocked all positions five times.

‘Does that mean 50 years’ worth of power?

‘Wouldn’t that be nearly as much as the 60 years’ worth of power mentioned in martial arts movies?’

Faced with such peculiarity, Fang Zheng could only come up with one logical explanation for it all: ‘Did the bottle of kidney strengthening Liuwei Dihuang teapills strengthen and improve my body?’

Liuwei Dihuang teapills already had the effect of improving the body by itself.

If the pills had been strengthened, who knew how much their effects had been amplified. Fang Zheng frowned. As he had been training, he had felt an overwhelming strength from his waist…

Grumble!

A loud, gurgling noise was emitted from Fang Zheng’s stomach, stopping his train of thought.

‘Hungry! So hungry!’

The moment his training had ended, a starved sensation impaled Fang Zheng’s stomach. He had never felt such overcoming hunger. Every cell in his body was crying out for food; he felt like he could swallow ten cows whole.

His eyes glowed green. He dashed into the kitchen, grabbed everything edible and gobbled them down.

It still was not enough!

He was still starving; his stomach was cramping up.

He began cooking noodles.

They were taking too long! He needed ten cows, not a bowl of noodles!

He went to the Corner Bay BBQ buffet restaurant.

Tall drinks and ice-cream dispensers were placed by the entrance for customers to take as they pleased. At the end of the walkway was where the toppings were kept, where one could mix and match to their personal preferences of sourness, sweetness, bitterness, or saltiness.

On the left-hand side was the meat and vegetable area. There was beef, lamb chops, pork tenderloin, frozen shrimp, squid, crab, and a variety of clams. Customers were spoilt for choice.

On the right-hand side was the deli and dessert area. Cakes, tarts, egg fried rice, steamed dumplings, and stewed meat. Anything that could be fried, boiled, and roasted was placed there, alongside most of the tables.

The temptation for food, doubled by the sizzling teppanyaki, made it hard for anyone to resist the aroma of beef, lamb, and seafood as they walked past the restaurant.

Not many young people or couples came out in the afternoon, so the restaurant was usually quiet.

However, today was a different day compared to others. Despite the afternoon being the most leisurely time of day, the waiters were bustling about.

“The black pepper beef ran out! Where is the black pepper beef?”

“Wasn’t it just delivered?”

“Don’t even talk about it. Some starving weirdo is here; the manager’s face has already turned green.”

“Toast! Toast! What is the chef doing? Where is the toast?”

“The spicy fillet ran out!”

“F*ck, the plate of prawns that was just served is gone already!”

“Chicken curry ran out!”

“Squid! Chicken wings! Saury! Lamb! Beef meatballs! The deli is now in deep trouble! Can anyone help us?”

“Chef! Chef! What are you doing? The food is getting wiped out by the customer. Where are the refills?”

The manager looked, horrified, at the starving man before him.

He was a man of moderate stature, but he ate like he was possessed by a dinosaur. He barely chewed on a huge piece of steak before gulping it down.

He did the same with the blue and hairy crabs that still had shells on them. He chewed on the shells and swallowed them all. Listening to the shattering of shells in his mouth, the manager was beyond shellshocked. Did he have metallic teeth? “Even if you just ate a lot, is that amount even really human? This is more like a beast feeding!

‘No, this was fiercer than a beast! Be it shells or bones—even the hardest of beef bones—they were all broken down after a few bites!

‘Was this human-shaped monster hired by the seafood BBQ buffet restaurant across the road to come and make a scene?’

“This Corner Bay BBQ buffet restaurant had good reviews online, the environment’s clean and classy. Their ingredients are fresh, hygienic, and the service as well as the variety of food are pretty good. Since it’s our first date—meeting the right person around the corner at Corner Bay—it feels like the right place.”

A young couple walked into the restaurant.

“You’re pretty good at making a girl happy,” the beautiful girl said with a smile.

Then, her smile froze. She scowled and barked, “Didn’t you say there was quite a variety of food here? Why is everything empty?”

“Uh, let me ask them.” The young man was obviously surprised as well.

The girl replied sternly, “There’s no need for that. If you didn’t want to buy me a meal, you could’ve just said so. We could have split the bill, but you didn’t have to do this and pretend to be generous in front of a girl. I dislike people like that the most!”

The girl spun around and stalked out of the restaurant.

Seeing how abruptly his first date had ended, the young man ran out in an attempt to explain himself.

The manager was left standing helplessly in the restaurant, his expression green. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng continued finishing a new plate of salmon as if nothing had happened.

Fang Zheng only got up unwillingly when the restaurant was about to close at 10pm. He glanced longingly at the tempting food in the restaurant. He felt as if he was only 80% full.

“Manager, are you sure you don’t want to consider opening the restaurant for another half an hour? You’re letting go of a returning customer.” Fang Zheng gave him a heartbroken look.

The manager replied, “The labor law states that working hours cannot be extended as it will harm the employees’ health and best interests. Adhering to the law begins with me.”

What a ‘returning customer’.

The manager’s heart was bleeding.

He wanted to send this menace away as soon as possible. He had no desire to see this person ever again.

He stared at Fang Zheng’s stomach. After eating for six or seven hours, his stomach was still flat. It was incomprehensible. ‘Where did all the food go?

‘How could a person’s metabolism be this high?’

After downing half a tank’s drink, Fang Zheng left the restaurant satisfied and full. The hunger he felt from the morning had been terrifying. He was still afraid to think of it.

After solving his hunger, he felt great satisfaction and happiness.

Fang Zheng’s phone suddenly rang. It was Rich Man Dong.

He picked up the call.

“Fang Fang.” A young man’s voice sang through the phone.

Fang Zheng’s expression turned dark as he hung up.

His phone vibrated again soon after that.

“Little Fang.” It was the same voice.

Fang Zheng hung up again, his expression thunderous.

“F*ck, don’t hang up–”

“Little rascal, you are still hanging up!”

“Ah! Little rascal, are you trying to piss me off till I die? Li’l Fang, if you hang up again–”

He hung up again.

“There’s an opportunity for you to earn money and live the life of a celebrity for a while, are you up for it?” This time, he went straight to the point through gritted teeth.
