Chapter 50: Concept of Meditation

This scroll was meant for drawing. Painted on it was a picture of a menacing evil ape along with a caption with some writing on it.

If this was not making a fool out of him, he had no clue what was?

Fang Zheng went straight to them.

What he was looking for was none other than the Rare Scripture of Spiritual Martial Arts, and was not the Diagram of Monkey’s View.

“Brother, have you heard of the Concept of Meditation?” the Library of the Grand Martial Elder asked.

After that, the Grand Martial Elder proceeded to explain that the concepts of Buddhism would focus on Buddha and the Bodhisattva, while the concepts of Daoism focused on the Pagoda, purgatory, Jade Fairy Painting, The Saints of Triple Purity, and more.

The evil ape depicted on this scroll was indeed a branch of the Concept of Meditation in Daoism.

There was also a proverb that referenced the ape, ‘Heart of an ape, will of a horse.’

Within everyone’s heart sat an ape. If one was unable to tame the ape, it would result in immeasurable chaos. However, with a clear and focused mind to watch the ape, one would be able to tame the ape, calming one’s heart as still as the calmest water.

A pure spirit would be untainted by anything.

The Library of The Grand Martial Elder asked, “Brother, why else do you think the monks and the Daoist priests would spend all day meditating and praying in front of an altar. Do you think it’s for them to just sit tight with a full belly?

“The truth is, that act is the very definition of the Concept of Meditation.”

Fang Zheng said, “Do I actually look like a three year old child?”

“???,” the Library of the Grand Martial Elder was puzzled.

Fang Zheng promptly replied, “There’s still the censored version of the Invincible Art of Pure Yang. Do you, the Grand Martial Elder, have no intention in explaining this then?”

However, not a single person expected the Grand Martial Elder to be so adamant that the Invincible Art of Pure Yang had two distinctions; the exterior and interior distinctions. One of them was known as the Art of Pure Yang.

The bottom line was, he was unwilling to admit to selling fake goods.

Fang Zheng said, “I’ll give this a try, if this happens to be falsely advertised, then I expect a full refund.”

“…” The library of the Grand Martial Elder was speechless.

However, at the other end of the internet at the same moment, the Grand Martial Elder was giggling and chuckling like a mad person in his heart.

It turned out that something with such an amazing and unbelievable result was nothing more than a new form of scam.

He had bought an entire collection of books and scrolls by bulk and pretended to be completely satisfied upon receiving fake goods. After he had gained the full trust of the main supplier, he proceeded to put on a show by playing the victim on the internet to discourage people from buying from the supplier.

Fortunately for him, all he had was a lifetime worth of experience, when the products were being distributed, the single diagram of the Concept of Meditation was included amongst the product. Anyone would be driven mad by constantly staring at a picture of an ape just for the sake of training.

“We’ll see how you would scam others on the internet in the future.”

After several minutes.

Fang Zheng was holding onto a manuscript written on human skin and in his other hand the sketchy Diagram of The Evil Ape.

He focused his mind and concentrated. If he could not gain power and strengthen himself, the Human Skin Scripture would not have a reaction, right?

This was exactly the same situation of his failed attempts to reinforce the Mantra of the Five Lightnings, Fiend Breaker Tongues, and other skills a few days ago.

After a brief moment, strengthening was successful!

A single rune…then a second rune… within the ‘Diagram of the Evil Ape’ began to undergo a series of astoundingly surprising changes. Even the evil ape had gradually become a mythical beast…

Fang Zheng was ecstatic. However, he immediately felt odd.

This was the second time he had encountered requiring a second rune to reinforce a skill. The first time was when he was training the origin of all martial arts, the Innate Qigong. He was trained in the art of the Innate Pure Qi.

‘Could it possibly be that the Diagram of the Mind truly possessed the key to mastering all skills?’

Fang Zheng contemplated.

His mind wandered off to the Eastern and Western culture of the modern day, and he realized the world truly revolved around the concept of meditation. This could be seen in the homes of the wealthy, among businessmen, yoga classes, birthing classes, and even in the media.

If so, could the concept of meditation that was so widespread in the general population be true?

It was also at this very moment that the reinforcement of the Diagram of the Evil Ape had successfully been completed!

However, upon closer inspection, Fang Zheng immediately noticed a major issue.

The ape depicted on the Diagram of the Mind was seemingly shrouded in a veil of fog. It felt similar to gazing into a shrouded mist whereby the only visible thing was the evil menacing red glare of its eyes.

The instant his eyes met its gaze, Fang Zheng could seemingly see a cloud of evil raging. It was an ape filled with hatred of the purest form, and a single roar would shake the very skies above—its menace was limitless.

Fang Zheng was slightly stunned as he immediately shifted his gaze.

It was truly unexpected that a single glance toward a single Diagram of the Mind would have such adverse effects on his spirit. It was truly a result of the combination of two different runes.

Immediately after that, Fang Zheng’s face morphed into a bitter look.

An entire ape reduced to only a single pair of eyes. Could this possibly be another incomplete manuscript?!

After that, Fang Zheng chose to reinforce the Art of Pure Yang and the Art of Bone Fortification. With the combinations of medicinal supplements for his blood, he proceeded to train his body.

[A home’s distinction lies between a good home and an evil home.

[The only worry when renting a home out of town would be renting one riddled with evil, so the rule of thumb for every single person to remember was to make sure that house had not experienced death, was not too dark, or happened to be built upon a mass burial site.

[The signs of a good home were simple and obvious; sunlight had to fill the entire house, thus making it rich with Yang energy. The entire housing area would be filled with life as people tend to move about. However, if that house happened to be an evil home, plenty of unexplained phenomena would occur and incidents would not be as tame as sleep paralysis.

[My name is Chen Feng, and I’m an unlucky soul. Ihe first time I rented a place, I had unfortunately gotten a horrible middle man and had unfortunately moved into an evil home. Strange incidents started occurring in the first night itself.

[That day was my first day moving into that house and I had to clean up the washroom. After I was done in about four to five hours later, I proceeded to use the heater for a hot shower.

[The shower was located in the washroom and was divided by a glass door. However, I somehow could not shake the feeling that someone was watching me from the other side of the glass door as I showered. I had goosebumps all over me.

[However, the entire shower was filled with steam and the steam had fogged up the glass door hence, I was unable to look through it. I opened up the glass door several times during my shower to take a look but everything seemed normal. I assumed it was only because of my nerves since this was the first time I’ve ever rented home, so I thought nothing of it.

[However, when I got out of the shower, I looked back by accident and I realized there was a spot completely unshrouded by the steamy vapors. It almost seemed as if someone had wiped across it with their hands. And if you at the spot, peering into the shower was completely possible.

[Chills instantly ran down my spine, could someone possibly be hiding in my house?

[But when I opened up my shower door during my shower and I did not see anyone on the other side.

[I did not know that house was a home of evil back then, and naively assumed it was all because I was nervous about moving into a new place for the first time. However, this doubt very quickly faded from my mind. I realized I was wrong.

[When I returned to my bedroom, and while I was laying in bed, without any warnings, I had been completely overwhelmed by sleep paralysis…]

The third library of the Yuxiu District.

It was, as usual, a dead library the moment night arrived. The entire library was completely silent as not a single person was present.

It was the same corner by the wall as last time.

The same person from back then.

Wei Youran had changed into her casual daily clothes; her head was lowered as she read an online novel.

Thus, time had gradually passed.

The time showed 20.50… It was now ten minutes away from closing time, and thus, Wei Youran exited the online novel and slowly scribbled on her cowhide covered journal.

Seventh of April,
