Ilsa Harnish, a B-class hunter based in the city of Barse--Ilsa Harnish was drinking in the guild on her way home from slaying demons as usual when she heard the curt voice of the guild's receptionist, Mia.

It seems that Mia had accidentally mentioned the favor (gift) of a boy who came to register as a hunter, and was in a great hurry.

After all, the boy's gift is [the most incompetent in the world]. What an unlucky boy.

However, although I sympathize with him, hunters are a basic meritocracy. It's not an exaggeration to say that unless you're a very exceptional case, your future is determined by the gift you possess. If it is such a useless gift, it will be difficult to work as a hunter. That's what I was thinking vaguely.

Later, the boy revealed himself to have an ability-boosting item, and the guild was abuzz with activity. I've never heard of an item that boosts the ability itself. If it's done poorly, it could be worth a national treasure level price.

In a sense, naturally, the hunters who were there began to talk about the boy as much as they wanted to.

The content of the conversation was 60% curious about where to get it and the efficacy of the item, and the remaining 40% was jealousy that a newcomer had such a great deal.

And then, recognizing the small but insatiable lust in their eyes, they began to talk about the

This might be something that Atai will have to deal with.

That's what he muttered to himself.

Sure enough, when the boy left the guild house, Mia came running up to him and asked him to take care of her for the time being.

Mia has a strong sense of responsibility. If the boy is attacked at this point, he will think it's his fault for revealing the Gift in public. Mia usually gives him some kind of convenience. That's why I agreed to it with a straight answer and left the guild.

As I watched the boy from afar while disappearing for a while, as Mia feared, the rag-tag group followed him. I'm not sure if it's because of the instability of the situation in this country, or if it's because of the recent increase in that kind of scum among hunters.

I guess they are trying to take a shortcut. The boy, of all things, ends up in an unpopular back alley.

As expected, the boy is surrounded by ruffians. He immediately goes in to help them, but the ruffians are beaten up by the boy very easily.

What the hell is ......

Ilsa squeezes the words out of her completely parched throat.

'Is that ...... martial arts?'

It must be a martial art. But it was too different from what Ilsa knew.

A behavior that cannot be read at all. It was never quick. It's not the same, but when I noticed the ragpickers had flown through the air and fallen to the ground. In fact, I think it would have been more convincing if it had been called magic in that it was incomprehensible.

The only thing I know is that I know one thing. The only thing I know is that no matter how many times I challenge and fight that boy, I will never win.

And besides--

"Did you notice that Atai?

Ilsa's boon (gift) is [agent]. It's an ability that specializes in espionage. A special class gift that allows you to learn a number of useful skills, such as disarming dungeon traps and opening locks.

The main characteristic of that gift is the ability to hide, or disappear from the atmosphere. I'm sure you'll be able to find a way to make it work. I'm sure you'll be able to find the right one for you.

I think it was a kind of sixth sense of his that caught Ilsa, as his concealment skill was normally activated. And it is a height that can only be attained by those who have gone through the unimaginable shura in Ilsa.

Only a rookie who has never experienced the death line would regard him as an incompetent and powerless rookie hunter, even after witnessing that battle.

Probably, the boy didn't have any ability-boosting items in his possession at all. In fact, the opposite is true. With such an incredible fighting skill, a strength value of 1 is too unnatural. The strength value of 12, the average of the first mid-level hunters, is still more reliable. However, when the boy is re-measured, the strength value is 1.

This means that the boy can adjust his abilities at will. I don't know if this is an item or an effect of an ability, but I'm pretty sure that boy's gift is not 'incompetence', it's something more out of the ordinary. It's something more out of the ordinary.

It's more outrageous than that. "A monster mixed in with your boring life.

Interesting! It's getting very interesting! If I can get that boy to join me, I may be able to reach the ancient temple that is said to be located in the deepest part of the Silke Sea of Trees.

Investigating the ancient temple is the long-cherished dream of Ilsa and the other archaeological (treasure) hunters, and they have already fulfilled the evaluation required to reach A-class. The only thing left to do is to meet the special requirements for A-class status, which I'll clear with the report on the exploration of these ruins. This will ensure that I will be promoted to Class A.

As long as the boy has no great intention of hiding his power, sooner or later it will become a known fact. If that happens, everyone will reach the same conclusion as Ilsa.

Hunter is a profession where wealth and glory are in proportion to one's ability. It doesn't matter what the gift is, as long as you are good at it. The only person foolish enough to judge by gifts alone is a hunter from Amelia. Soon, he will be inundated with scouts from many directions and will be extremely difficult to acquire.

But now that everyone thinks he's incompetent, it should be easy to put together a party.

''Then I guess we'll have to gather information first.

You have to know the person to bring them in. Let's see if we can get it out of Mia.

'Yes, Atay is lucky!

Ilsa started running towards the guild, suppressing her heart, which was surging with anticipation and joy.
