Evan left the Earl’s Mansion, and promised to come back in about two months, and then check their learning results during this period.

Xi Ning always felt that Evan’s words were specifically for him, and he practiced particularly intensely and hard in the following days. Except for the compulsory courses with the instructor, the rest of the time was spent in the library.

His tail and ears couldn’t be retracted for the time being. Luckily the weather had turned cold recently, so Xi Ning wore a hooded cloak to cover it tightly.

He didn’t hate his beastman blood, but there was no other person like him in the Earl’s Mansion, and he didn’t want to appear out of tune with others.

Xi Ning flipped through the pages of the book in his hands. There was no one else in the library for the time being. He took off his cloak and put it aside. His pure white cat tail passed through the gap in the back of the chair, swaying rascally.

He coughed lightly a few times, and Leon handed over a cup of freshly brewed black tea, the temperature of which was just right, “Young master, you must have caught a cold, shall I go to the pharmacy to get some medicine for you?”

Xi Ning has been coughing a lot these days, but it’s not serious, and he has no other symptoms. He took a sip of hot tea to moisten his throat, “No need.”

He has been in good health since he was a child, and he seldom gets sick. A small cold like this will heal by itself in a few days.

Xi Ning quickly finished reading the books in his hand, and took out a list to Leon, asking him to help him find these books according to the titles written on it, and Leon responded.

Leon took the list and went to the other side, Xi Ning leaned on the chair to take a rest, holding the teacup in a daze.

He doesn’t like this kind of boring study, and he hasn’t seen much effect from his hard work all this time. When Evan comes back, he might tell Evan that he is really not suited to learn magic……

There were footsteps coming from the corridor beside him, Xi Ning subconsciously turned his head and saw Song Zhou.

Of course Song Zhou also noticed Xi Ning, he was holding some cleaning tools in his hand. He stopped and saluted to Xi Ning, “Young master.”

He lowered his gaze and glanced at Xi Ning’s ear when he stood back straight.

Xi Ning remembered this servant who he had only met once, and had a good impression of him. He was about to respond aloud, but suddenly felt a discomfort in his throat, and covered his mouth and coughed.

He put down the teacup and frowned. There seemed to be something foreign in his throat. It wasn’t particularly uncomfortable but he couldn’t ignore it. Seeing this, Song Zhou put down the things in his hand, reached out to check the temperature of the teacup, and poured a new cup for Xi Ning.

Xi Ning didn’t answer, he coughed hard a few times, coughed up an obvious foreign object and spat it into his palm.

He looked carefully, and it turned out to be a small white petal.

After the petals were coughed out, Xi Ning’s throat immediately returned to normal. He stared at the petals in a daze, and looked at the teacup on the table.

Could it be that when Leon was making tea, he accidentally poured flower petals into it, and he drank it?

Before Song Zhou left, he asked with concern, “Young master, are you okay? How do you feel?”

“I am fine.”

Xi Ning put the petals on the table casually, and wanted to ask Leon when he came back. He didn’t want to drink this tea anymore.

Song Zhou looked at the cloak on the chair on the other side, and said gently, “The weather is getting worse recently, young master should pay attention to keep warm.”

He approached and picked up the cloak, motioning for Xi Ning to put it on.

Xi Ning was a little awkward. He was not used to letting others see his tail and ears, especially when they were so close. Just as he was thinking, Song Zhou had already helped him put on the cloak.

An unfamiliar aura approached him, he slightly raised his head to look at Song Zhou, who was concentrating on tying the straps of his cloak. Xi Ning thought to himself, even Leon didn’t help him put on his cloak or coat before.

His white ears trembled slightly, and the pink ear tips and thin blood vessels could be seen clearly under the sunlight coming from outside the window. Song Zhou fastened the straps and retracted his hand, “It’s done, young master……”

His voice faltered halfway, and Xi Ning also froze, lowering his head stiffly.

A fluffy tail protruded from his cloak, wrapped around Song Zhou’s wrist, as if he didn’t want him to leave.

Xi Ning blushed, he hurriedly pulled his tail back and hugged it tightly, retreated back a few steps and bumped the chair behind him, making a loud noise on the ground.

“I, I……” Xi Ning stuttered and couldn’t speak, his breathing became short-winded, and he avoided looking at Song Zhou.

Song Zhou paused for a moment, as if nothing had happened, picked up his belongings and bid goodbye to Xi Ning before leaving.

Xi Ning didn’t listen carefully to what he said. After confirming that Song Zhou had gone far away, Xi Ning regained his composure and put down the tail in his arms.

Xi Ning couldn’t figure out why his tail was wrapped around Song Zhou’s hand, probably because it was in the rebellious period and was not under his control at all……

And when the tail touched Song Zhou just now, Xi Ning had a strange feeling. He couldn’t explain what it was, but he felt his heart beating very fast, and his face started to feel hot.

Leon heard movement in the distance, and hurried over with the books in his arms, interrupting Xi Ning’s thoughts, “Young master? I just heard……”

Xi Ning tugged his cloak tighter, “Have you found all the books?”

“There are still three books left……”

“That’s fine, go and register it to the librarian, I want to take it back.”

Leon went to the front register with the books in his arms. Before leaving, Xi Ning thought of the white petal, and looked down at the table, but there was nothing there.

That petal is too small and light, it might have gotten blown away by wind to the ground. Xi Ning didn’t look for it any more, put on his cloak and left the library.

In the next few days, Xi Ning’s cold didn’t seem to be getting better, and he coughed a few times from time to time, although it was not a serious problem, it was quite annoying.

So he asked Leon to bring back some medicine. Leon also brought a box of throat lozenges on his way back, it was in small square shape wrapped in candy wrapper and was neatly stacked in the box.

Xi Ning tore off the candy wrapper and ate one, the cold bitter taste made him frown.

The candy rolled around in his mouth. He couldn’t stand the taste, so he lowered his head and spat it into the trash can, then picked up the cup and took a few sips of water.

After eating the throat lozenges, his cough didn’t ease at all, on the contrary, it became more uncomfortable. Xi Ning covered his mouth and coughed several times.

The strange feeling in the throat reappeared, worse than last time, Xi Ning bent down and spit out a whole little daisy from his mouth.

He looked at the flower in his hand and opened his eyes wide, this situation is obviously unusual.

Last time, he was a little skeptical. Leon was very careful in his daily work, so he probably wouldn’t mix flower petals into the tea.

Now he even vomited out the whole flower directly, which was definitely not something he ate by mistake before, but more like it grew out of his body.

Seeing that Xi Ning’s expression was not right, Leon approached and asked, “Young master, why have you been staring at this flower?”

Xi Ning clenched his palms tightly, with an expression of panic on his face .He forced himself to calm down, lowered his voice and said, “Leon, I suspect that I have been cursed.”
