Game’s Dogma

Chapter 192: Outcome

‘I’m fine.’

The butler smiled at his words and said, ‘My lord has given the order to bring you, Mr Yau, to him once you wake up.’

Drako Yau nodded. He had nothing to complain about because he also wanted to know what happened back then. Hearing Moon Breaker’s final words, clashing with the golden-haired young man, then… nothing else—that was all he could remember.

The butler led the way while Drako Yau followed behind. They were still within the Castellan’s residence, and under the butler’s guidance, Drako Yau was once again before the Castellan’s room.

Knock knock.

‘My lord, Mr Yau has awakened.’

‘Enter.’

Everything in the room was the same as before Drako Yau’s fight, but Drako Yau had been in a daze since he woke up. He didn’t even notice when the butler left the room.

With just the two of them remaining, Fatty the Castellan greeted Drako Yau with a grin. ‘Kiddo, I must say you’ve surprised me. A massive surprise indeed.’

Drako Yau didn’t answer and only stared at Fatty. His gaze is different, he thought.

While Fatty was smiling as usual, his previous gaze contained the domineering atmosphere of a superior—a formal gaze. Yet now, he acknowledged Drako Yau from the bottom of his heart.

Drako Yau then replied calmly, ‘It’s just a deal.’ His eyes were set on Fatty the entire time.

‘You want to know the outcome, right?’ Fatty laughed merrily.

Drako Yau kept his silence, though his firm stare already gave away the answer. Fatty leaned back into his chair and made himself comfortable before saying, ‘Your final strike didn’t take place, that’s the outcome.

‘A power exists in the game. You people call it “the system” or “the officials”. As for us, we call it “Dominator”. It is the Dominator’s powers that saved you… and the other young man.’ Fatty chuckled. ‘But… When you two were about to make that final blow, I can already tell the true outcome.’

Drako Yau flickered his eyes and stared seriously at Fatty, who slowly hid his smile.

‘Perhaps I’ve already given it away. Didn’t I say that the Dominator saved you two?

‘Your powers were superior to the enemy and you killed him. However, you exploded and died from over-using the two forces within you shortly after.’

Fatty’s voice was low. He was plainly stating a fact without any exaggeration. Drako Yau reached for the Cryoflame Jade hanging near his chest; it was no longer radiating its usual glow. As he had brought out too much of his forces this time, it had exceeded the Cryoflame Jade’s protection limit.

‘The Ghost Flame barrier in you is also vanishing soon. You erected a barrier using Ghost Flame to separate the forces while the jade on you circulates them to a limited extent. It’s a strange way of handling forces, and somehow they’ve grown ever so powerful as a result. How ironic.

‘It’s double-edged. Good thing is you’ve grown stronger. However, the explosion will be much fiercer when the Ghost Flame barrier eventually dissipates, much like stuffing more gunpowder into a bomb.’

Fatty wasn’t the talkative type, but he was now explaining it in detail to Drako Yau, who nodded and took in every word.

‘At your current rate, the Ghost Flame barrier will be gone in a month, two if things progress slower. Before that happens, you better… come up with something.’

Fatty the Castellan was at a loss of what to say at Drako Yau who stayed silent and seemed to be in a daze. He felt that as a bystander, he was more anxious than the person involved.

‘Ahem.’ Fatty broke the silence and said, ‘Because you’ve helped me a lot this time, I should compensate you.’

With a wave of his hand, three items appeared on the table between them: a spear, a scroll, and a book.

‘The spear’s called Shooting Star. It’s just right for your level.’

The spear shaft was pitch-black while the several-inch-long spear head was midnight blue, decorated with picturesque golden spots that appear like stars in the night sky.

‘Shooting Star, Level 30 epic weapon. According to legends, a famous blacksmith came across a unique meteor and forged this spear with its essence. This spear shall strike like a dazzling star.

Active skill: Starry Rain. Rain down a meteor shower at a circular area with a ten-metre radius for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 6 hours.

Special effect: Dazzling Star. When attacking, Attack Speed will be increased by 30 per cent for 10 seconds at a certain chance.’

Drako Yau was dumbfounded by the spear. Apart from having much higher attack damage than ordinary Level 30 epic weapons, it also had both an active skill and a special effect. Unless something unexpected happened or he got a stronger weapon at Level 40, just its passive-active skill combo and great damage could last him till Level 45.

The scroll looked familiar—it was indeed a Holy Blessing Scroll. He could feel the Tattered Armour’s intense thirst for it, a pure desire like a hungry baby craving food.

As for the book… It gave off not a golden glow, but instead a crimson red aura. The aura brightened and faded in a rhythmic pattern as if it was breathing. The dark red glow seemed to devour every and anything it came across.

‘Legendary item: Crafting Recipe—Holy Blessing Scroll.

Requirement: Level 7 Scrollcraft.’

Drako Yau became a scrollcrafter to craft Holy Blessing Scrolls. Just like that, the recipe was right before him. Its rarity of legendary already indicated how invaluable of an item it was.

Drako Yau looked at Fatty and said, ‘This is too precious.’

Fatty nodded in appreciation and answered, ‘Not losing your head even when presented with great treasures. Not bad indeed.

‘Chris and I go way back, so I know a fair bit about your situation. Just take it. Also, it’s something only you people can use. Don’t forget that I’m an NPC,’ he said and pointed at the name tag ‘Castellan of Yoda’ above his head while laughing.

‘Kiddo, you have no idea how much I’ve earned from your fight. Let’s just put it this way, my winnings are worth more than even a dozen treasures of the same degree. Ohoho, think of it as a bonus, take it.’

Thinking about the 5,000 he got from Gramps, Fatty couldn’t help smiling smugly. Drako Yau no longer refused the offer and received all the items. He also equipped Shooting Star immediately and hung it on his back.

‘I’ll be taking my leave then,’ he said.

Fatty nodded, and Drako Yau turned around to leave. Fatty had a complicated look as he gazed at Drako Yau’s back. Suddenly, he said, ‘Kiddo.’

Drako Yau turned around again to face Fatty the Castellan.

‘A final reminder… Or rather, a bit of advice from your senior.’
