Chapter 145: Dragon Capturing Hand

Never did Drako Yau think that there would be someone as dumb as Dumbgirl, who didn’t choose a class all the way till Level 20. Honestly though, he was sure Dumbgirl had no idea how classes worked at all.

‘I’ll take good care of your sister. She’ll be back in three days.’

Kiu Fung had bright eyes and a wide grin that almost reached his ears; it was obvious he was in a joyous mood. Having found a successor, he had fulfilled his wish.

‘Thanks for taking the trouble.’

Kiu Fung waved his fan-sized palm and said, ‘Cut the formalities, I hate that sort of stuff. Anyways, thanks for bringing me a successor, here’s a small gift. Brother, you should take it.’ He plucked out a shiny book from within his tattered robe.

Ding.

‘You have received an epic skill book—Dragon Capturing Hand.’

‘Dragon Capturing Hand: Unknown origin. A mysterious master had once used it to dominate the martial arts sector before vanishing from the scene. Through materialising internal power, the user may telekinetically wield objects or injure enemies. It is Kiu Fung’s secret skill along with the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms.’

Drako Yau was startled. Dragon Capturing Hand wasn’t part of his design, and it seemed rather powerful as well.

‘Thank you, Brother Kiu.’ Drako Yau made a palm-fist salute and accepted the gift right away, a gesture which suited Kiu Fung’s taste.

‘Alright, I’ll have to go. Since fate brought us together, could you also visit my sworn brothers when you’ve got time on your hands?’

Ding!

‘You have received the quest: Sworn Brother’s Longing. Accept?’

Drako Yau wasn’t dumb enough to not immediately accept it.

Who were Kiu Fung’s sworn brothers? Duen Yue of the Dablit Guaif’s Royal Duen family, the only martial arts master who knew the Six Meridian Divine Swords. Hui Juk, master of the Spirit Eagle Palace, wielder of many secret Carefree Sect arts such as Mountain Tin Six Solar Palms and Mountain Tin Plum Breaking Hand.

Now that he received the quest, Drako Yau had the opportunity to get acquainted with the two masters.

‘Ahaha, Ah Chu, I’m so glad.’

‘Mhm.’ Ah Chu replied with a gentle smile and leaned lightly against Kiu Fung’s sturdy body daintily.

‘Alright, time to go.’

Kiu Fung laughed heartily as he hugged Ah Chu in his arms and walked towards the bar’s exit. It seemed as though he was simply walking, but after a few breaths’ time, Kiu Fung was already a hundred metres away. He then disappeared into the distance in no time.

Drako Yau followed Kiu Fung with his gaze. Arriving with a pleasant mood and leaving in a blast—if there weren’t any deep-rooted discrimination in Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils that separated the Khitan and the Han, Kiu Fung and Ah Chu could’ve travelled the world as soulmates in the novel like they did here.

After the fifth World War over a century ago, racial discrimination was almost non-existent in the current world. Black, white, yellow, all races co-existed peacefully together in various cities. As it was something which only existed in historical books, Drako Yau who was born in the current era found racial discrimination a concept hard to comprehend. For that reason, he implemented Kiu Fung into his design while leaving out all that racial crap as a way to complete Kiu Fung’s unfulfilled wishes.

Moments later, Drako Yau recovered from his trance and put on his Mask of the Hidden Dragon before leaving. After walking several hundred metres, he turned around to find that the bar had long since disappeared. It only appeared because Dumbgirl triggered Kiu Fung’s succession quest; now that the quest was handed out, it naturally disappeared.

This time, Drako Yau didn’t waste any time and headed straight for Chris’ hut.

Knock knock.

Drako Yau didn’t dare to open the door and stood quietly in front of it. Moments later, the door opened on its own, and Chris’ voice emerged from inside the hut.

‘Kid, don’t be so scared. Just come in.’

Drako Yau entered the hut and took off his mask.

‘Hm? Where’s Mr Destiny?’

Chris lay lazily on his thatch bed and yawned with his eyes closed. ‘That guy’s a busy one, you’re lucky to have met him last time.’

‘Oh.’ Drako Yau sounded a bit disappointed. He had experienced the Cryoflame Jade’s effects and wanted to thank Destiny.

Chris finally opened his eyes and said with a smile, ‘Kid, you’ve finished all your quests, right… Eh?’ He shot up from his bed and stared intently at Drako Yau’s item bad. ‘What do you have on you?’

Drako Yau was more surprised than Chris was. ‘What what?’

Chris then asked, ‘What do you have in your bag? I can sense a powerful aura. Even your item bag cannot conceal it.

Drako Yau made a suspicious look and searched through his item bag. It was mostly filled with potions. There was also a set of normal grade equipment for switching identity to ‘Dragonspear’ and the Dragon Capturing Hand skill book. He took out the skill book and asked, ‘You mean this?’

Chris’ eyes flashed. ‘Oh? Dragon Capturing Hand? You met Kiu Fung?’

Drako Yau nodded. Chris was a bit surprised, but that was it. ‘Dragon Capturing Hand is invaluable, but certainly not on the level of what I spoke of. Try looking harder, what do you have in there?’

Drako Yau was speechless. There wasn’t anything left! As a perfectionist, he had always cleaned up his item bag.

‘Oh, right.’ He then took out the item which couldn’t be discarded, sold, or stashed into the storage system—Tattered Armour.

‘Ah…’ Chris’ voice trembled as he slowly received the armour from Drako Yau.

Even though Chris was emotionally perturbed, Drako Yau could tell Chris was inspecting Tattered Armour in detail. He could no longer ignore the armour now.

Chris’ strength was beyond his comprehension; at least he couldn’t detect how strong Chris was right now. According to his estimation, Chris was several times stronger than Ichor Hon, yet such a person was treating the trash-like Tattered Armour so seriously?

After a good long while, Chris finally returned from his trance and asked, ‘Where did you get it?’

Drako Yau told Chris everything about the New Year event and the firecrackers.

‘You’re a bold one to use up all your firecrackers at once. Well, your boldness has surely paid off this time. You’ve hit the jackpot. Looks like all your firecrackers triggered a powerful spell and seized this thing from that place.’

Drako Yau couldn’t hold back his curiosity. ‘What on earth is this Tattered Armour?’

Chris chuckled. ‘It’s about time you know a thing or two. After all, you’re one step closer to us after your class progression.’

Chris sat down on his thatch bed with his legs crossed. He held the broken armour in his hands with great respect and reverence and started his narration.

‘In the far, far past, it wasn’t an era where humans reigned over the world. It was dominated by gods and demons. Humans were mere underlings and slaves of the two races.

‘Gods and demons were neck to neck in terms of strength. Because of their polar opposite innate nature, they waged war against one another. While humans were a lot weaker, they had excellent intelligence and boundless creativity.

‘The demon race’s forging techniques, seized by the god race, were passed down to a human. By combining the forging techniques of the human race, the god race, and the demon race, the human complemented the shortcomings of each race’s techniques with the advantages of another race’s techniques. At long last, he finally forged a divine item.

‘After Michael, the god race’s king at that time, put on the divine item, he killed five demon elders in quick succession, stunning the entire demon race. Every demon trembled in fear and named the divine item “God-Slaying Demon Extermination Armour”,’ Chris spoke in a particularly serious tone as he lifted the armour in his hands, ‘which is the true identity of this Tattered Armour you own.’
