Chapter 8 White Deer

 “How is my sister now?”

Sighed, Rhaegar was a little worried about Rhaenyra.

Ilic did not hide anything: "The princess ran out of the camp before me, and the guard said she entered the royal forest and galloped."

"one person?"

“Sir Christon Cole followed closely behind.”

Rhaegar nodded and asked abruptly: "Ser Elik, what did my father say when he sent you to find me?"

Ilic was a little confused and said honestly: "Your Majesty ordered me to take the prince back to protect your safety."

"very good."

Rhaegar smiled: "Next, I'll ask you to protect me."

Under Elik’s puzzled eyes, Rhaegar trotted to the nearest horse-tying fence and ducked in.

“Prince, I don’t understand what you mean?”

Elic followed closely, not knowing why.

Rhaegar picked out a tall black horse and asked, "How does this horse look? It looks strong?"

“Prince, don’t tell me, you are going to the royal forest?”

Ilik was very smart and reacted immediately and wanted to dissuade him.

Rhaegar touched the black horse's front legs and said seriously: "No, let's go to the forest together."

“Your Majesty will not allow you to run around!”

“It’s not considered running around if you have a white knight to protect you.”

Rhaegar didn't give Ilic a chance to refuse. He gently picked up a handful of horse hair and said softly: "Sir, you don't want me to be harmed?"

As he spoke, he slowly exerted force with his little hands.

The black horse felt pain, kicked its hooves uneasily, and neighed.

Rhaegar stood next to the horse's legs, watching Ilic quietly.

 “What are your options, Sir?”

Ilic could not bear to stare at Prince Rhaegar who threatened him with his own safety.

At this moment, he mourned for the king.

Having such a pair of naughty children must be very confusing.

At the same time, mourn for yourself.

He knows that he cannot stop a person who wants to harm his body.

Ilik swallowed and lowered his head: "I will take you to find the princess, but you must obey my instructions during the process."

 “No problem, sir.”

Rhaegar smiled slightly on his pale face, let go and opened his arms.

Elic stepped forward in two steps, stretched out his hands to pick up Rhaegar's thin body, and placed him on the horse's back.

Untie the reins and lead the horse out of the fence.

The white knight stepped on the stirrup and mounted the horse, hugging the young prince with one hand and holding the reins with the other.

Hunting his legs between the horse's belly, he gave the command in a depressed tone.

Not long after, the black horse walked out of the camp and ran along the forest path.

“Sir, do you know where my sister is?”

Rhaegar asked questions as his broken hair danced in the wind.

Ilic looked solemn and replied: "Cole is a smart guy. He leaves marks on the road."

Hearing this, Rega was relieved.

It is not easy for anyone to be qualified to become a member of the Kingsguard, and such a trivial matter as leaving information is easy to do.

time flies.

The sun was high when we left the camp, and in a blink of an eye it was already sunset.

Under the light of the setting sun, Ilic led the black horse and walked slowly along the forest path with dense pines and cypresses.

“Sir, I have reason to doubt my own luck, and I am not suitable for searching at all.”

Lying on the horse’s back, Rhaegar’s lips turned white, sweating slightly on his forehead, and he spoke weakly.

Ilic sighed: "Maybe, the mark left by Cole disappeared halfway, and we became headless flies."

“Haha, it must have been Rhaenyra. She didn’t want anyone to find her.”

Rhaegar shook his head and smiled bitterly.

Ilic did not respond, trying to discern the surrounding environment and find a way back to the camp.

The Kingswood is huge, and under Rhaegar's careless command, they ran too far.

  Russling, rustling…

Suddenly, there was a faint sound of stepping on weeds from behind.

Ilic was worthy of being a member of the strongest bodyguard group in the kingdom. He instantly sensed something was wrong and cast a wary look.

Rhaegar was already weak and was extremely tired at the moment. He didn’t know what had happened. Ilic slowly led his horse back, touched the long sword on his waist with one hand, and whispered: "Prince, there is something coming over there, and it is quite big."

 “Is there any danger?”

Lega immediately adjusted his sitting posture.

“I don’t know, what is the temperament of the person watching? Is it a poacher or a wild boar?”

Rhaegar reminded in a low voice: "Do you want to ride a horse and run quickly to avoid conflicts?"

Ilic's voice revealed pride: "Prince, don't be afraid, I will stand in front of you."

While talking, the noise became closer and closer.

An extremely tall, snow-white stag walked out of the woods and appeared in front of the two of them.

 “White deer!?”

Rhaegar looked at the graceful white deer in amazement.

He likes to read history books and naturally knows many customs and traditions.

Before Aegon the Conqueror unified Westeros, there was no Age of Dragons.

The kings on the mainland regard the white deer as auspicious and a symbol of the king.

More than a hundred years have passed, and the white deer has long disappeared from the eyes of the world.

Unexpectedly, there is another one in the royal forest.

“Prince, now is not the time to be curious. The white deer is very big and the collision will be very strong.”

Yilik's expression changed slightly, he stared at the white deer, and his long sword was slightly unsheathed.

Hearing what he said, Rhaegar noticed the size of the white deer.

Excluding a pair of huge antlers, the white deer is two meters tall at the shoulder and no less than five meters long.

Under the silky white hair, there are thorny muscles hidden. You can imagine the power that this auspicious head can burst out.

 “Can you beat it?”

Rhaegar was a little worried.

Elik: "If we have one-on-one, I'm 50% sure."

 “And me?”

“Pray that it won’t attack us.”

Elic's words were full of helplessness.

Lega put his hands on his forehead, feeling weak in his little arms and legs.

 “Yoyo~”

Perhaps God is still favoring him.

The white deer did not attack, but barked softly at them, its amber eyes full of curiosity and innocence.

“It doesn’t seem to have the ferocity of a wild beast?”

Discovering this, Rhaegar's pounding heart eased slightly, and he felt a little excited about the aftermath of the disaster.

 “Yoyo~”

Seeing that they made no movement, the white deer slowly approached, its nostrils twitching slightly to smell the scent.

 “Sir, carry me down.”

The more he looked into the white deer's eyes, the more Rhaegar felt that it was different and asked Ilic for help.

 “Prince, it’s dangerous…”

“The white deer is auspicious, I believe it is not a wild beast.”

Interrupting Ilic's exhortation, Rhaegar smiled at the white deer and waved to it.

 “Come here, my friend.”

The white deer bowed slightly, assumed an offensive posture, and looked at the human cub on the horse in confusion.

 “Quick, carry me down, Sir.”

“Be careful, this is no joke.”

At Rhaegar's urging again and again, Ilic took him off the horse, looking helpless.

As soon as he landed on the ground, Rega opened the small pocket on his waist, took out a few stored red grapes from it, and called softly:

“My friend, do you want to try it?”

Seeing the red fruit pellets in the hands of the human cub, the white deer's eyes lit up and he moved his hooves forward involuntarily.

When the two sides were less than three meters apart, Ilik's eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, and his long sword was slowly unsheathed.

Rhaegar immediately stopped him: "Take your weapons back, don't scare my friends."

"prince…"

 “That’s an order, sir!”

Under Bai Lu’s vigilant eyes, Ilic reluctantly sheathed his sword and followed closely behind Rega.

If there is real danger, he will protect him immediately.
