Chapter 11 Church of The God of Death

Odin looked at the black-shirted men disappearing figures and fell into thoughts.

He was uncertain why the Black Death Society came troubled him. However, from the looks of it, they were determined to capture him.

Odin thought it long and hard if he wished to avoid being controlled by others, he needed to consider how to survive from Black Death Society’s attacks first.

But he was in light while they were in the shadows. He did not know when he would be plotted against. The utmost urgent things right now were to raise his EXP and attributes, that way he could defend himself when the dangers arrived.

The black-shirted man mentioned the church of the God of Death and based on Odin’s knowledge, the God of Death and Crow God were nemeses. Since the Black Death Society’s powers came from the Crow God, maybe he could find the answer he needed from the church of the God of Death.

The only problem was he did not know where the church was located. It probably was within the university, so he could just ask someone from the combat club.

Odin returned to the Ground Combat Club and pulled a youth with glasses that was practicing aside.

“Little brother, do you know where the God of Death’s church is?” Odin patted the youth while smiling to show his friendliness.

However, he had forgotten how great his Strength and Mental were. A single pat from him could pressure someone weaker.

The youth thought Odin was causing him trouble as he fearfully looked at Odin who was patting him. He said while trembling, “It’s on the north of the university. Just head north from here and you’ll see it soon. The church is special, you’ll recognize it the moment you see it.”

“Thanks.” Odin patted his hands and prepared to leave.

“Hey.” The youth fiddled around before deciding to call Odin. “The church has priests guarding it, don’t go and start a fight. With our current strength, dying countless times is not enough if you cause any trouble.”

It was not that he did not believe Odin, but the smiling man in front of him had a trace of intimidation. So he was skeptical of Odin.

Odin was unsure why the youth had an impression of him being reckless but he smiled and waved at him before setting off.

Heading to the north will pass through several lecturing places. Now it was not school time, so there were not many people around. However, the further north Odin went, the number of people increased, and they were heading in the same direction.

Odin guessed all of them were probably going to the God of Death’s church. Their expression was either serious or thrilled and their purpose for going was different from Odin’s.

No one in the university was unlucky as he was to be chosen as a vessel by someone else.

EXP allowed his moving speed to increase. Although there were many people around, it was easy for him to weave through the crowd freely at his current speed.

The outline of the church of the God of Death could be vaguely seen. It was a majestic and huge blackish-red building. It gave off a sense of oppression even from afar.

It was unknown which bigwigs were residing in the church as the entire church was covered with magic arrays.

The pressure from the building made Odin unable to look straight at it. He could only squint to reduce the stimulus.

Soon, Odin reached the entrance of the church. The pressure from before vanished the moment he approached the church. Instead, it gave a gentle and reassuring feeling as if entering a barrier.

Odin sized up the entire building and noticed the reassuring feelings came from the white flowers in front of the church.

The path in front of the church was filled with intricate white flowers that spread along to the church’s entrance like a path specially made for walking.

The white flowers suddenly disappeared half a meter away from the church’s entrance as if cut by a knife to separate a boundary.

The theme colors of the church were black and red. The black walls have dark red windows and the color palates were depressing and heavy. It was distinctly different from the white flowers on the entrance. The two represented life and death, showing the meaning of the wheel of life.

Every corner of the black wall had traces of faint shining gold luster as if having hidden meanings and probably was outlined with pure gold. It was not gorgeous but it was profound.

In the center of the church’s roof was a silver cross that every other western church had. The difference between them was that this cross had huge black wings sculpture behind it.

The entire church had an imposing existence that showed off the feelings of life and death.

Odin curled up his lips as he felt this building was interesting. Although its colors were depressing and simple, they made people in awe of life and death from the bottom of their hearts.

As expected of the God of Death who controlled resurrection, even his church was full of his style. Odin began taking interest in this God of Death.

He followed the person in front of him and stepped onto the path that was lined with white flowers on both sides.

The flowers danced along the breeze and droplets fell from the petals. However, they did not fall onto the ground, instead were blown away by the breeze and disappeared midair. Odin’s nose was filled with the fresh aroma in the air.

The church’s entrance was right in front of Odin and he began to feel nervous. He stepped into the church after calming himself down.

The interior of the church was not much different from the western churches. There was a pulpit for the priest and rows of benches for the worshippers. On the walls were murals, it was neither God nor Jesus, it was a black-winged man drawn with black gold color. However, the drawing of the man was faceless.

At the ceiling of the church was a giant crystal chandelier. It was not made with light bulbs but with high-grade prismatic crystals.

A dozen crystals were suspended in the midair emitting a soothing yellow glow.

So far, Odin was quite satisfied with the church, and it also increased his confidence in using the God of Death’s church to handle the Black Death Society.

A platinum-haired middle-aged man walked onto the platform with a sculpture of a black-winged silver cross in his hand. He was expressionless yet majestic. This man was the Father of the church of the God of Death.

The crowd who were still talking immediately became silent and lowered their heads.

Only Leo was different, he was staring at the Father with his eyes wide open.
