Chapter 10 Reason

The next morning, Odin hurriedly left his dorm. He even brought his bag and books in order to have a reason to carry the ink bottle to the Ground Combat Club.

When he reached the Ground Combat Club, the others had started training.

Looking at Odin’s pale face, Carlot said in an upset tone, “You’re part of the Ground Combat Club. Some matters have to be controlled or else if you keep messing around, the training you practiced will be wasted.”

Odin was embarrassed for a moment as he knew what Carlot meant. But he could not explain his paleness was due to the loss of 0.2 of the Constitution. It was impossible for him to tell Carlot just based on profession, he was stronger than Carlot since he advanced successfully.

Fortunately, Carlot did not linger on this matter. He let Odin participate with others in the morning training and began practicing.

In the morning, Odin ignored the matters of EXP as he needed to raise his various attributes first.

Even though everyone else had stopped practicing, Odin was still continuing to practice the training skills.

The others had no responses to Odin practicing as there were still some students continuing practicing.

Furthermore, Carlot and the company went to recruit new members and did not bother with Odin’s actions.

At this moment, several black-shirted men entered and the one in the lead was the one Odin met yesterday.

He revealed a “why it’s you again” expression when he saw Odin. He helplessly reached out for Odin, “Odin Condeves, come here for a moment.”

Odin stopped practicing and confusedly headed to that black-shirted man. He was unsure what happened but if someone were here to cause him trouble, it would be the people from Black Death Society, not the police force.

Before Odin could open his mouth, the leader said, “You should’ve died.”

Ah?

Odin was dumbfounded. He was still standing healthily, why should he have died?

The leader explained after they captured Leo, some issues appeared. Leo was an outer member of a secret group under the Black Death Society and learned some insignificant tricks.

Leo had received an order from the higher-ups to lure Odin to Teacher Carter’s place. Black Death Society had tampered with the place and was waiting for Odin to enter. As long as he entered, all kinds of traps will be activated and Odin will be taken away as the murderer.

As for the reasons, Leo himself did not know. He only knew what he needed to do.

The black-shirted men kept interrogating but still could not find out anything. Thus, they invited a Prophet under the God of Prophecy.

After the Prophet went through the information and carefully “prophesied” before pointing at Leo saying, “That Odin is enveloped by the shadow of the crow. He was a vessel chosen by the crow. Tonight he has to die…”

The black-shirted men had to guess the meaning of this prophecy themselves.

The black-shirted men wanted to look for Odin to protect him as these matters related to the Evil Gods. Moreover, that Evil God was the nemesis of the God of Death. It was easy for them to search and safeguard Odin as long as they informed this matter to the God of Death.

However, just as they were going to search for Odin, something huge happened in the university out of the blue.

Senior Annie suddenly passed away and she died of black-colored blood flowing out of her seven orifices. It was really horrifying.

Because of this matter, they forgot about Odin and went straight to the scene. They even invited an Abhorsen under the God of Death to summon the soul of Senior Annie to question.

The Abhorsen found out Senior Annie had joined the Black Death Society and was a Level 1 Spirit Warlock.

This sudden death was due to her encountering a storm as her soul perished within it when using Astral Projection.

This startled the black-shirted men since it was Blue Vine University. Why was it suddenly full of members of the Black Death Society?

But this matter was irrelevant to the black-shirted men as they had been busy all night yet could not find any leads. In the end, it was after listening to the Prophet’s prophecy, that the Abhorsen asked them to look for Odin.

The black-shirted men could not say anything when facing this situation. As it was themselves that hindered them from searching for Odin. Now it made it seem as though they were unwilling to safeguard Odin.

Odin was speechless when he heard the leader’s complaint. The leader came to explain the situation but the complaints at the end were irrelevant to him yet the leader kept complaining.

However, Odin finally understood why he was targeted.

He was a player and this body and identity were arranged by the game. The player’s soul was the most suitable to cross over. It would not have any effects as long as it was a player’s soul. For the god, this was the most suitable fitting vessel for descending.

Leo, who had a rather good relationship with Odin, must have noticed it. Even Odin’s roommates could be part of the Black Death Society.

They secretly hid the Crow God Relic in Odin’s closet to gradually affect his Constitution. Leo luring him to the crime scene was to stain him with blood and let him fall into a crisis. This way, it was easier for the Black Death Society to brainwash Odin, letting him voluntarily join the Black Death Society and become the vessel for Crow God’s descent willingly.

Odin was filled with disdain when he understood this. “They must be out of their minds, who would believe such a trick?”

He patted Odin’s shoulder and continued, “You have good luck and didn’t fall for their traps. When they noticed their traps failed, they let someone use Astral Projection to report back yet they faced a Spirit Storm. I guess the news has yet to reach the high-ups of the Black Death Society. You still have a few days of safety. Use these few days properly and think about how to shake off the Black Death Society’s influence. If I were you, I would immediately look for the God of Death’s church. They’re experts in dealing with the Black Death Society.”

With that, he left Odin alone and brought his subordinates left speedily.
