First Day Being an Adult

Chapter 38 - Don't Alienate Me

Chapter 38 Don’t Alienate Me

I lowered my head and looked at Zhao Qiongyue. Her whole body was covered with bruises and hickeys in green and purple that I left behind. That certain place was still gaping, and fluids kept flowing out. Even her butt and chest were red from my pinching. It made me want to torture her twice as badly. However, I really didn’t have much strength now. What else could I do?

The two of us held each other as we fell to the floor, panting non-stop. When I came back to my senses and realized that it wasn’t good to leave her here, I carried her to the bed. Zhao Qiongyue sneered. “Alright, I was talking about bed just now, but you weren’t willing. Now, you’re finally willing to let me go to bed.”

I didn’t say anything. Just as I squatted on the floor to clean up the rest of the mess in the room for her, Zhao Qiongyue suddenly asked me, “Are you going out now?”

I thought about it, “If I don’t go out, are we going to continue where we left off?”

Zhao Qiongyue was speechless. “That’s not what I meant. I mean, are you going back to your room just like that?”

“Go wash up first. I’ll go downstairs and get you something to eat.”

“There’s no need.”

Zhao Qiongyue looked up and met my complicated gaze. She clicked her tongue. “Why are you staring at me with that strange gaze? If you have something to say, just spit it out.”

I thought for a moment. “Your stomach is growling. Didn’t you hear it?”

Zhao Qiongyue’s entire face turned red. I tidied up a little and went to the fridge downstairs to take out two bags of milk. I placed them in a pot to heat them up and fried two pieces of toast and bacon for her. Fortunately, after the two of us had exercised for so long, it was already midnight. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to explain this to mom.

I crept back into the room and put the hot milk on her bedside table. “Get up and eat something.”

She looked at me and seemed to have come back to her senses. She leaned on the bed and said, “I didn’t expect to see a day where you’d be so considerate… Needless to say, it’s quite refreshing.”

For a moment, Zhao Qiongyue had to admit that her heart skipped a beat. She suppressed the inexplicable throbbing feeling and said proudly, “Forget it, you can drop the act. Leave. I don’t really want to eat right now.”

I pushed the milk and the plate containing the toast into her hand. My cooking skills were superb. The fragrance instantly filled the entire space. I glanced at Zhao Qiongyue. “Are you really not going to eat?”

I cleared my throat and tapped my finger on the plate. “If you don’t eat it, I’ll have to throw it away,” I said a little deliberately.

Zhao Qiongyue was stunned speechless.

She sat up cross-legged on the bed. “You’re joking. It’s shameful to waste food, understand? Are you crazy?”

I sat beside Zhao Qiongyue as she ate. The only light source in the room came from a small night lamp, and it shone on her beautiful eyebrows, making her look more innocent. When Zhao Qiongyue put down the bowl and chopsticks, I glanced at her. “Are you done eating?”

I said, “Not angry anymore, are you? Now, can you tell me why you’re so angry?”

I thought that Zhao Qiongyue would definitely not want to talk about this matter. Unexpectedly, Zhao Qiongyue didn’t react negatively this time. She even seemed to have expected this. She looked at me and said, “Do we have to talk about this now?”

I thought about it. What was so difficult to say? “Yes, let’s talk about it now.”

Zhao Qiongyue acted very magnanimous now. She said to me, “It’s nothing. I’m just a little jealous.”

I had indeed thought of this possibility, but it felt different to hear it directly from Zhao Qiongyue’s mouth. My heart skipped a beat and I looked at Zhao Qiongyue in a daze. Finally Zhao Qiongyue said, “Sigh, don’t be too stressed. I don’t want to date you. It’s just that I watched you grow up since you were young. I suddenly realized that you’ve matured. Moreover, you found a girlfriend so quickly after you matured. I can’t bear to part with you.”

Zhao Qiongyue looked a little melancholic. “However, as I had wished, I still became your first woman. This way, even if you fall in love with someone else in the future, you won’t forget me, right?”

I suddenly asked my sister, “Don’t you want me to date someone else?”

Zhao Qiongyue fell silent for a moment before admitting, “That’s right. I don’t want you to do that.

She said, “I can fool around with others, but I feel uncomfortable when you are the one who does this. Song Feng, aren’t I selfish?”

Perhaps she was, but at this moment, I couldn’t find it in myself to blame my sister at all. I looked deeply into her eyes. I admit that I really liked Ye Cuicui, but compared to Ye Cuicui, I seemed to like my sister more. This was because Zhao Qiongyue had been by my side since I was young. I remembered that when I first came to this house as a child, I was very reserved. Although my second sister didn’t reject me, she wasn’t exactly good at socializing. And although mom treated me very well, there was a big age gap between us as well as a generation gap. It had always been my eldest sister who took care of me. She was also the first to accept me. When I was at a loss, it was my eldest sister who held my hand and told me that I could treat this place as my home.

Therefore, by the time I reacted, I had already blurted out, “If you think so, I can choose not to fall in love.”

I said honestly, “You’ve always wanted to make me happy, so you went along with me in many ways. So this time, it’s my turn to go along with you. I’ll reject Ye Cuicui now. I won’t pursue a relationship with her.” Zhao Qiongyue probably hadn’t expected me to say this. She looked at me with a complicated expression. After a long time, she covered her face and sighed. She was a little speechless. “Song Feng, you really know how to coax girls.

I’m thinking that it’s not Ye Cuicui’s fault for liking you. You’re quite capable. You’re really talented in this aspect.”

After saying that, my sister turned around and looked at me. Suddenly, she became especially gentle. She acted very differently from before. Even her mischievous teasing had disappeared. “Alright, even if Ye Cuicui is out of the picture, are you never going to fall in love? What I meant was, Little Feng, even if you have a girl you like, don’t alienate me. Don’t leave me, okay?”

I nodded, and my sister held my hand. The two of us interlocked our fingers. I heard Zhao Qiongyue say, “Let us have a few more lessons like this. What do you think?”
