Exploiting Hollywood 1980

Chapter 368: Are you not going in?

Chapter 368 Aren't you going in?

MJ, Calvin Klein, David Geffen and others also took the VIP elevator to the second floor. Through the waiter, I found Ronald and Diane who returned to the box after the disco. Calvin Klein introduces Ronald Jackson, who just released his latest album, Thriller.

Michael Jackson was very thin, with black natural curly hair. His nose is also typical black type, very wide. The big eyes with only two double eyelids are very charming, and he is a handsome guy among black people. He looked shiny in a pearl-encrusted shirt.

"Ronald, can I call you Ronald? I like the dance you just did on the flyover." MJ spoke softly, but confidently.

"Hello, MJ. I think they call you that. I like your new song." Ronald doesn't listen to black music much, but lately the radio has been playing his "That Girl is Mine (That Girlis Mine)," with the original Paul McCartney of The Beatles chorus.

MJ chatted with Ronald for a few moments before realizing that Ronald was not dancing. He asked Ronald about the origin of this dance.

"Is this the moonwalk? This is what I saw on the set of 'Lightning Dance,' and I learned it with CrazyLegs, a New York-based break dance specialist." Ronald did a few spacewalks, "The focus is on the force of the footsteps when they stand up. Their movements are different from those of the soul train. They retreat in a straight line. I think it is very interesting."

"Yeah, CrazyLegs? Is he in New York?"

"I don't know either, you can ask their agent, they have a dance group, and there seem to be a lot of people doing this kind of dance in Los Angeles."

"Michael, I'm Andy Warhol, I interviewed you on the phone a few months ago, do you remember?" Andy Warhol squeezed out of the crowd and pinched MJ a few times with the camera shutter.

"Last time I told you about the Blondie band, I went to see them, they were great, have you seen them?"

"I've never seen them." MJ replied politely.

"I'm going to the Ritz Club later, there's a new band Duran Duran playing there, do you know them?"

"do not know."

"You should go check them out, they're really good, they're a British New Wave band that's on MTV right now."

   "I just came here."

"A lot of people went here just now, including little Kennedy and Brooke Shields."

"Did Bo Ji also go? Well, I'll chat with my friends for a while. Call me when you go."

MJ turned to chat with the others, and Andy Warhol hurriedly followed him and continued to ask questions.

"Your new song is so good, my walkman is full of your tapes."

"thanks."

"When you're in LA, do you usually stay at home or go out? Did you grow up to be a singer? Do you watch movies? Do you play video games?"

Warhol asked a bunch of questions.

MJ was more gentlemanly and tried to answer briefly until Warhol asked him about ET's video games.

"Oh, that game didn't impress me, it's too bad, you can't get out of a trap. I don't like it. But I really like Steven's film, the interaction between children and ET is very touching, I watched it several times ."

"That's great," Andy Warhol wrote in a hurry.

"What kind of magazine are you a reporter? I'm Minahan Golan, the producer of Brooke Shields' new film." Seeing the lively circle of people, Fat Minahan also squeezed in. Just saw the scene of Warhol interviewing MJ, and quickly stepped forward to introduce himself.

"Oh, great, I'm the editor-in-chief of 'Interview' magazine, may I ask about your new film?"

"Sahara, it's a big production, set in the deserts of my native Israel, 'Lawrence of Arabia', plus the Paris-Dakar Rally.

Brooke will win an Oscar for this movie..."

"Oh, Shxt", Ronald's thoughts went bad, Minahan went around talking about Brooke's award, and said the same to the media this time, if the box office and reviews were not satisfactory, it would be bad. Hastily pulled Laminahan's sleeve.

"This is a big production from Cannonball Pictures", Minahan flicked his arm and continued to brag about his investment and Brooke Shields' wonderful acting skills.

Ronald looked around, except for MJ who listened with interest, everyone else showed a meaningful smile.

"Hey", Ronald sighed, and stopped persuading him. This big mouth was talking nonsense, and it was estimated that it had become a joke in the circle.

"What, isn't that right?" Diane poked Ronald's waist quietly and asked quietly in his ear.

"Meinahan is a foreigner. If he is so high-profile, if he is not nominated for an Oscar, he will implicate Brooke." Ronald covered his mouth with his hand and whispered in Diane's ear.

"It doesn't matter, Andy's 'Interview' magazine is quite famous. He knows a lot of celebrities in the entertainment industry in New York, so he shouldn't write about it."

   "What, you know Andy Warhol?"

"He interviewed me last year and took a few pictures of me, but he still used my other pictures for the cover of his magazine."

Ronald and Diane started chatting with each other.

"Let's talk somewhere else, it's too tiring." Diane was squeezed twice by the crowd and pulled Ronald.

"Well, I know there's another one next door".

The two slowly squeezed out of the packed box, and went to a room next to them, where everyone went to see celebrities such as MJ and Calvin Klein.

"You said you had several plays asking you to perform?" Ronald remembered what Diane said just now.

"Yeah, one is about a female rock star and invited me to be the lead singer. The other is about a fairy tale mermaid, but with a different ending."

"Which one do you want to play?"

"I want to be a rock star, and this movie has a lot of room for me. The story of the mermaid is too old-fashioned, and Burt also said that the ending is not good. The mermaid did not become a human, but the male protagonist grew fins, and She went to sea together."

"Why?" Ronald didn't follow Diane's train of thought.

"Bert said, the mermaid story has been filmed many times, so I have limited performance space. It's different with rock stars."

Ronald felt a strange feeling in his heart. In fact, the performance of the movie actors is actually very different from the actors' roles presented in the movie itself. Blindly pursuing acting skills may not necessarily lead to a higher level and become a big star.

"What, do you think I should be a mermaid?"

Seeing that he didn't speak, Diane took the initiative to ask.

"It's still the same old saying, it's not convenient for me to give you any advice on choosing a script. However, I don't think it is necessary to fully pursue the performance of acting. The quality of an actor's performance is related to the performance of the entire movie. Two different things."

"You're right, I don't care about all the troubles, and when Coppola's two movies come out, Burt said I'll be able to get the script from the big studios. Now there's a lot of scripts coming in. Quite a few, but most of them are multi-million dollar small to mid-sized productions.”

Diane shook her head, as if she wanted to get rid of the pressure of the girl star, and enjoy the pleasure of making a fool of herself.

"By the way, when will your new film be filmed? Would you like me to be the heroine?"

"Haha, the filming will start next month. But my film is only in the early 100 million yuan, and it is a small film that cannot be made any smaller."

"Sorry, Ronald, I didn't mean that." Diane stuck out his tongue.

Ronald smiled and rubbed her hair, "It's okay, I know you didn't mean it that way. I'll take it one step at a time, and if I'm lucky, I'll be directing the next big studio movie, I'll give Bert the script by then."

Ronald looked down at Diane, this sister Donna's best friend, her face was getting rounder now, she was also an actress, she didn't pay as much attention to maintaining her figure as Helen.

Caucasian girls all have a period of rapid growth and baby fat. Ronald looked at Diane condescendingly and noticed the rapid changes in Diane's appearance in the past six months.

When Diane auditioned for "The Outer Boy", she was still a complete little girl, and she had grown a lot taller. By the time I finished filming "Ultra World" and "Betta Fish", instead of growing taller, I had gained weight, and now it seems that my whole person has gained a lot of weight.

Diane didn't know what Ronald was thinking about. He saw that her face was a little hot. She touched her hair. The red dyed red during the filming had faded a little. Dark brown.

The heart beat faster and faster, Diane closed his eyes slightly, and there was some expectation in his heart.

"Why is there a scar beside your eye?"

Ronald found a small scar at the corner of Diane's right eye and touched it lightly with his hand.

"That was when I was a child." Diane was a little annoyed, and turned his face to Ronald to take a closer look. "Do you think it's not good-looking? Should I have plastic surgery? My agent also said it, and it was very clear in the close-up."

"It's not necessary, I think it's better not to have surgery if you don't destroy your beauty." Ronald remembered the clip of Ingrid Bergman's autobiography that she refused plastic surgery.

"I think the audience is very familiar with your appearance now. If you lose the facial features after plastic surgery, it will be detrimental to your star career."

"Oh, I think so too. The thought of using a knife on the face makes me a little scared. Bert also said it's best not to, otherwise the facial muscles will be damaged, and some subtle emotions will not be able to show."

"Yeah, I remember when I saw Johnny Carson hosting the Oscars, he made jokes about celebrity plastic surgery. What do you say?" Ronald thought for a while, "he said, glad to see a lot today New faces, especially old ones."

"Hahaha", Diane laughed very happily, "By the way, my agent said that he is arranging for me to appear on Johnny Carson's show, but it will take half a year for the schedule."

"Oh, is it? Is it to promote the movie?"

"I'm very happy to see a lot of new faces today, especially those who have been repaired on old faces." In the corner next to him, Woody Allen also happened to be out alone. He took out a small notebook and quickly wrote down Ronald's joke.

"Woody?" Ronald spotted Woody Allen in the corner.

"Hi Ronald, I thought your joke was funny so I took it down."

"This is Diane, Diane Lane, the heroine of Coppola's new film." Ronald quickly introduced.

"Hello, hello..." Woody Allen was a little shy in front of strangers, "I have to go back and find Mia."

Ronald chatted with Diane again, seeing that it was too late, and offered to send Diane home.

Diane Lane happily agreed. Sitting in the co-pilot seat of Ronald's car, he happily talked a lot about the filming of "Betta Fish".

Soon the car drove to Diane's house, and Ronald got out of the car and took her to the door.

Diane stood at the door and looked at Ronald with a smile, "Aren't you going to go in and sit?"

"It's late, I have to go back early." Ronald looked at his watch.

The lights in the room came on, "Diane, is that you? Who else is there?" The voice of Diane's father, Burt, came out.

"It's me, Ronald. I'll bring Diane back," Ronald replied.

"Ronald, long time no see." Bert came out of the room and hugged Ronald.

"I heard that Diane has a lot of invitations recently? I heard Diane say that she has a lot of Hollywood invitations now, and I saw a lot of them today." Ronald and Burt chatted about Diane's acting career.

"Yes, it's a lot better than last year. Director Coppola will definitely invite you when the premiere is held."

"Okay, I'll definitely go. Bye, Bert. Bye, Diane."

"Goodbye." Diane watched Ronald get into the car.

"Tell me next time you go out, I came to see you and no one is at home." Bert complained to his daughter.

"I know, I'll tell you later. I'm going to bed first." Diane silently entered his room and closed the door.

"Boom!" She kicked the wall and threw herself on the bed.

  …

"I'm back, haven't you slept yet? Donna." Ronald drove home and saw Donna still sitting in the living room.

"Not yet, I'm watching TV, have you seen Diane?"

"Yeah, she's changed a lot now, and she's going to be a movie star next year." Ronald yawned, "I'm going to bed first, you go to bed earlier too."

"I'm going to sleep right away." Donna saw Ronald go to the bathroom, and immediately picked up the phone and dialed, "He's back, he didn't go to other clubs."
