Endless Fall

Chapter 60: Don't let her suffer any grievances

Chapter 60 Never let her suffer any grievances

"I haven't shaved for a long time." Zhou Yanshen handed the kitchen knife forward, trying his best to be lazy: "Would you like to teach me?"

"Can't teach." Lin Kanglu was not fooled at all.

He pushed away the back of the knife facing him, and warned: "Shave it clean, if I eat fish scales, I'll take care of you."

Zhou Yanshen dared not have any comments.

He scratched the skin of the fish twice with the tip of the knife, much more carefully than before: "Then I scrape it for you to burn?"

"Yeah." Lin Kanglu walked around the kitchen with his hands behind his back.

Zhou Yanshen should go down and concentrate on scraping the fish.

He threw the fish scales into the trash can next to him and looked back and forth several times before putting down the kitchen knife.

"Have you finished pulling it out?"

   "It's over."

"Then I'll call the old man." He wiped the apron twice, wiped the water stains on his hands, and strode out.

Pei Zhi moved his neck twice.

He originally wanted to stay and fight, but Lin Kanglu refused, so he had to follow Lin Jiao to sit in the courtyard and have two cups of tea.

   "Uncle, are you tired?"

"Not tired."

Lin Jiao felt relieved when he saw that he was not tired.

She pointed to the chicken blood splattered on the corner of his clothes: "I'm afraid you can't wear this dress."

"It's okay." Pei Zhi raised his thin lips.

He looked at the direction of the rising smoke, and when he heard a loud noise, he suddenly said, "Yanshen is very happy here."

"Yeah." Lin Jiao held her chin in her palm: "His grandmother left early, and his parents were too busy with work to take care of him, so he had a deep affection for his grandfather, and he was like a child in front of him."

"I can tell." Pei Zhi retracted his gaze, took up the teapot and filled her with tea: "Did he live with you all when he was a child?"

"No, he only comes here during winter and summer vacations."

Lin Jiao held the teacup and blew it twice.

Before he could drink it, Zhou Yanshen, who was carrying two plates of dishes, called to the kitchen.

She and Pei Zhi served rice one by one, and the reflections overlapping on the ground were next to each other, adding an indescribable sense of warmth.

Seeing them walking towards the main house side by side, Lin Kanglu took off his apron, lowered his eyebrows and pondered for a long time.

After lunch, he made an excuse to say to Lin Jiao and Zhou Yanshen, "You two go to the field to pick some cucumbers and cabbage and come back."

"How many were picked in total?"

   "Anything."

Zhou Yanshen picked up the basket in the corner.

He guessed the old man's intention, so before crossing the threshold, he gave Pei Zhi a look of "seeking more happiness".

Pei Zhi didn't look flustered at all.

He put the bowl and chopsticks aside, met those eyes full of inquiry, and waited for him to speak.

Lin Kanglu is not a person who likes to go around in circles, so he asked straight to the point: "Do you like Jiaojiao?"

"right."

   Pei Zhi never hesitated.

He took two sips of white wine, and for the first time expressed his feelings in front of anyone other than his brother: "I have liked her for many years."

Lin Kanglu raised his eyebrows: "She has a boyfriend."

   "Have broken up."

"When did this happen?"

"Some time ago." Pei Zhi was afraid that he was worried and did not say the real reason: "They are not suitable."

Lin Kanglu was also not interested in asking about the old man.

He stared at Pei Zhi's eyes, the calloused hand tapped on the table in a hurry, wondering what he was thinking.

Pei Zhi was at a loss when he saw it.

After a long silence, he sincerely assured: "Don't worry, I will definitely treat her well, and I will never let her suffer any grievances."

"It's too early to say that."

  “…”

Seeing that he was choked and speechless, Lin Kanglu suppressed his smile with a light cough: "Whether you can catch up with him is one thing."
