Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3508 Marrying Everlight

Like in his previous marriages, they had fewer ceremonies to care about as they didn't care about culture and were creating and adopting their own depending upon the wives, going straight to their marriage vows.

Everlight heaved a breath, feeling surreal.

The air was quite chilling around this region, so it only made her feel cold feet.

Everyone's attention was on her now as the music stopped, and the banquet ended with no new dishes available.

The fact that if these people were to know that she was Emperor-Tier could mean a whole new skirmish also didn't sit well with her. Nonetheless, the hand she held was imbued with so much warmth that it gave her security and confidence, causing her to move her lips.

"I, Everlight Davis, vow to cherish, honor, and remain devoted, standing steadfast through every trial and triumph, pledging unwavering support in times of need and abundance alike, and to nurture a loving and devoted pact of love with my husband."

Her voice was melodious yet firm, conveying her affectionate emotions with utter accuracy.

"…"

However, to the Immortal Emperors, it came off as much of a surprise.

This could be an arranged marriage for all they care about since a Nine Lives Gracious Fox does indeed like those who have life energy with them, but her emotions now make it clear to them that this relationship is anything but platonic.

"I, Davis Loret…"

Davis smiled at Everlight, holding her hand firmly before turning to look at the crowd.

"Pledge to love, honor, and cherish, support her through all challenges and joys, to stand by her side in sickness and health, in times of prosperity and adversity, and more than anything, be a loving husband who will slaughter the world if you were to be harmed."

"…!?"

For a moment, everyone fell off their seats while still being seated.

Was this Anarchic Divergent showing his true colors already? However, some, especially the ladies, felt that it was beyond romantic, their cheeks reddening as their eyes became dreamy.

Although they were old enough yet still young-looking, they couldn't help but feel the Emperor of Death was quite the charmer. That show of force was plentiful for their hearts to churn with strange thoughts about him.

Everlight smiled delightfully as she turned to look at Davis.

She was finally married to him, which meant that they were inseparable in her mind. However, her happy face turned confused as she saw him staring at the crowd.

"Everyone," Davis addressed the crowd, "As humans and magical beasts, we are already separated by a thick line of race, but we will transcend such a limitation and enjoy our vows together in this life. If anyone has some strange ideas, feel free to engage in suicidal behavior. If not, please stop casting your filthy, greedy thoughts that plan to kidnap the bride. Not only would you fail miserably, but you would also not have a good death."

"…"

The crowd became silent once again, wondering what this little bastard was up to with his threats?

"If you can see through that much, then I guess there's no need for pleasantries."

Just as they thought that he was targeting empty air, a brown-skinned, half-black-robed man stood up with one side of his upper body visible. He had dark green hair and a refined jawline, his smirk casting a look of derision on everyone in his field of view.

"But oh well, at least the food was sumptuous… I must say that it was worth coming here even without ill intentions."

"You are…?"

He shrugged, causing Davis to narrow his eyes.

The half-dressed man smirked, "I heard you thrashed my Northern Sphere Bandits, so… gotta give some payback, don't you think?"

"Insolent!" An Earth Dragon Clan's Ancestor stood up and roared, "You are in the magnificent presence of Saintess Lunaria!"

The undulations headed straight for the half-dressed man, intending to suppress him, but his pupils shrunk as he gave a side eye and glared at the Earth Dragon Clan's Ancestor.

"Old fart, do I look like I care?"

He raised his head high up in the skies and brought it down.

*Bong!~*

A drum appeared before his waist as his palm struck the surface, causing it to release a tumultuous sound that caused the eardrums of many Immortal Emperors to explode.

"Careful!~"

Instantly, everyone cast their protective energy on themselves and their allies.

However, the Earth Dragon Clan's Patriarch was sent flying.

Davis gave a glance at his people and saw that they were unharmed because they stayed inside the barrier. Even light wouldn't make it inside with foreign and hostile usage, so there was no need to say about sound. This chapter's initial release occurred on the N0v3l-B1n site.

*Bang!~*

"No way…! Are you Pasha, one of the six leaders of the Northern Sphere Bandits!?"

But suddenly, Davis heard the voice of Zanqua as she screamed out in disbelief while smashing the table with her fist.

"Indeed, I'm Pasha…"

"But… that's impossible… you should've ascended a few hundred thousand years ago…"

Pasha looked at Zanqua with some surprise as someone managed to recognize him even though he was disguised. He wondered if it was because of the war drum he brought out before smiling.

"Oh, about that… I failed in the previous ascension competitions and got mad, causing me to train extra hard and clear my heart demons so this hundred-year mark was going to be my cue to ascend, but the Candidacy disrupted my plans, and now I'm stuck here for the better part of the decade."

He reached out his hand, beckoning Zanqua, "You… are you also from the Northern Sphere Bandits? If so, come with me… I'll take you as my new wife since my old ones couldn't handle me and dried- I mean, died off."

Zanqua's cheeks burned as she shyly looked away, "I mean… I wouldn't mind if you could defeat my man."

"Oh, he had his way with you too?"

Pasha's lips twitched as he turned to look at Davis, "Your luck with women is frustrating me. I've been watching you from the time I came here, but the women you have are not simple. Why don't you just call yourself the Romance Emperor instead?"

Davis glanced at Zanqua's usual tactics of throwing the problem to him without the slightest bit of remorse, but he didn't care as he could tell that she trusted him to finish him off without an issue-

"Careful, his war drum is a High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Artifact that can break or disrupt formations. The wider the formation, the more it disrupts, so it had always been highly effective in plundering cities!"

- or not.

Davis nodded at Zanqua after he heard her soul transmission.

It was no wonder this bandit freak acted so boldly here.

However, before he could make a move, three more Peak-Level Immortal Emperors stood along with him, their might unwaveringly directed at him.

Their auras were thick with karmic sin, making Davis's gaze flash.

"Aha!" Pasha let out a mocking roar, "Such a retard you are, letting in powerful Immortal Emperors from all over the place into your wedding just because you have some unbridled power as an Anarchic Divergent, forgetting that you are nothing but a mere Immortal King, not to mention sought backing from a Saintess who couldn't do anything but rely on the mighty Azure Dragon!"

"Stop him!"

"Protect the Saintess!"

He cackled, raising his hand, striking the war drum with his bare hand again with a mountainous force.

*Bong!!!~*

Cracks appeared all over the place as the reverberation of the sound caused an enormous amount of damage. However, the defensive-killing formation seemed to turn wobbly in this sound, appearing unable to function properly.
