Divine Emperor of Death

3185 Losing the Heavenly Geniuses

Davis turned to look around and saw a huge space become covered in light, covering an epic portion of the land before the light disappeared. He knew that land was now ridden with some kind of trapping or sealing formation, but either way, he couldn't give a damn about it as he was already far away.

*Thud~*

He dropped Lest Mistwalker on the ground, causing him to groan lightly from the reverberating pain in his chest.

Lest Mistwalker remained crouched on the ground as he didn't know what to say to this screwed-up situation.

Did the Divine Emperor of Death ruin his life, or did he save it? Or was it both? He couldn't understand.

However, his mind told him that it wouldn't be smart of him to display hostility towards the Divine Emperor of Death. Still, he couldn't see how fast the latter was with his speed.

'What the hell… his soul is like an endless well, the body is like a fortress, and his essence heavenly and speedy…'

Lest Mistwalker couldn't believe how one person managed to master all three aspects of a lifeform without leaving any vulnerabilities behind. At least he couldn't see any weakness that he could take advantage of.

He slowly stood up, glancing at the Divine Emperor of Death with caution. He didn't leave but was, instead, checking the spatial ring he plund- no, he gave him.

"Woah. You got some nice collection of treasures here other than the Celestial Luminescence Pill and the forging inheritance."

Davis commented as he scanned the entirety of the spatial ring and life ring. There were many materials for creating formations, treasures that improve Illusion Laws, and other treasures of different attributes, all above Immortal Emperor Grade.

Clearly, they were all collected here in this realm. Moreover, there was not a single Immortal King Grade Treasure here other than some healing pills, which allowed him to know that Lest Mistwalker didn't go for scraps carried by the immortals from the First Haven World. He only had eyes on Immortal Emperor Grade Treasures.

But what made him satisfied was that he recognized two corpses amidst the many. It was just like what Klaze Spacewark said. These dead men belonged to the Zenflame Clan of the First Haven World, causing him to turn to look at Lest Mistwalker with a friendly smile.

However, that smile made Lest Mistwalker shudder as he didn't know what the other party had in store for him.

Davis wrapped his arm around Lest Mistwalker's neck, "You're good. You killed some enemies I don't like."

"That's… good to hear…"

Lest Mistwalker lightly laughed.

He didn't know whom he killed, but he only targeted the strong ones so he could extract information from them using soulscour techniques. He didn't care about the others, but right now, he felt like a rabbit caught under a lion's claws, wondering if he killed someone important to the Divine Emperor of Death or someone he had his eye on.

For example, a beauty.

He remembered seeing many beauties beside him back at the hidden temple.

"Alright, save yourself. Goodbye."

Davis patted Lest Mistwalker's shoulder before stepping into the air and leaving.

"Wait…!"

However, Lest Mistwalker followed him, quickly catching up with him, "I'll accompany you for a bit as I'm not capable of leaving this region by myself."

Davis didn't say anything.

Taking it as acknowledgment, Lest Mistwalker continued to follow as they headed north. They crossed a giant river spanning ten thousand kilometers but did so in a concealed manner so Feral Beasts living in the sea didn't attack them, but they had to slow their pace because of it.

Just as they got to the other edge successfully, a giant crab abruptly shot up from the sandy ground, whipping its pincers against them. It was like a huge hammer, intending to crush them, but suddenly, it came to a stop, shuddering ever so lightly before it fell to the ground.

Davis blinked as he saw the Level Four Immortal Emperor Pearlcore Sea Crab with impure blood be taken down in an instant, causing him to turn to look at Lest Mistwalker's, whose eyes were wide and appeared to unleash a terrifying illusion.

"Not bad."

Davis commented, "But the crab's mine."

He chuckled, stealing the food for himself, leaving Lest Mistwalker speechless as he inwardly screamed that he didn't need it.

He just didn't want to get caught by the Empyreal Monarchs and soundlessly finished the opponent before the Divine Emperor of Death could make a mess out of it. Meanwhile, Davis was rejoicing that he and his people could have a delicious meal.

He wanted to cook hydra meat as well, but they were feys, so he was a bit disgusted over eating them, but he knew Nadia and the other magical beasts present in his group would have no problem with eating them.

"Our Prismatic Dream Arts can trap any cultivator in an unending illusion as long as they are in the same realm. Combined with our formation expertise, not even Rath Heavenshade will be able to easily escape. Did you really not feel the brunt of our Prismatic Dream Arts?"

Lest Mistwalker asked curiously, causing  Davis's lips to curl in derision.

"None of you were brave enough to cast your illusion techniques on me, afraid you'll get caught with me in a battle of souls."

'More like they lost the chance to do so after the heaven's wrath broke the formation…'

Lest Mistwalker could only wryly smile.

But he could agree with Davis.

Indeed, they noticed his soul force was like the bane of souls, and considering his extreme prowess, no one dared to challenge him in a battle of souls or drag him into an illusion, afraid that they might get pulled into his illusion. Even a King-Tier Azure Dragon Fey's aura didn't shake him, so that could only mean the strange soul physique that allowed him to manifest life and death energy without dying like a fool was unprecedentedly stable and powerful.

Moreover, any Heart Intent user was bound to have a strong Will that lords over others.

"What realm in Heart Laws have you reached?"

After adversity and familiarity came determination and curiosity as Lest Mistwalker questioned Davis with some boldness.

He knew that Heart Laws was a fusion between Sound Laws and Desire Laws, of which the latter is a mid-tier Greater Law, a fusion between two Primary Laws, namely Illusion Laws and Charm Laws. For the Divine Emperor of Death to have reached this level, they were all sure he comprehended Illusion Laws to Quiddity as well, hence the reluctance to engage with him in a battle of souls.

"I don't have Heart Laws. I learned Enigmatic Heart Laws."

"…!"

Lest Mistwalker trembled. He knew that it should be either one of them, but the impact of the second was greater considering that it was even harder to acquire than Heart Laws, considering many could master Heart Laws with enough time by learning and fusing Sound Laws and Desire Laws, but for Enigmatic Heart Laws, it entirely depended on the person, which makes them special amongst the human race because that's the Phyletic Law of Humans.

He couldn't help but shake his head, wondering how this monster could be born.

"That's right. I learned the Virtuous Dawn Upper Realm also has an Empyreal Monarch with Enigmatic Heart Laws. Is he as strong as me? What level had he reached in Enigmatic Heart Laws?"

"The Dawnbreaker Family's Charles Dawnbreaker?" Lest Mistwalker's lips twitched.

If he had been there, then he would've kept his emotions blank and not rejoiced at all, never having to be caught by the Divine Emperor of Death in the first place, but he knew the Dawnbreaker Family was in another place along with the other Upper Realms that didn't show up here.

Besides, Charles Dawnbreaker's Heart Intent could be sensed, but the Divine Emperor of Death's Heart Intent, he didn't even see it coming for him to hide his emotions. Feeling more than frustrated, Lest Mistwalker opened his mouth.

"I think he has comprehended Level One Obscure Intent in Enigmatic Heart Laws, although it is said that he reached Level Two Obscure Intent, the State of Control, after some adventures here, so everyone is rather of the mind that he could possibly match Rath Heavenshade without being suppressed by the latter's kingly aura."

"Oh? That's interesting…"

Davis felt joy he could test his brawn with Rath Heavenshade. Now, he wanted to test his Will with this so-called Charles Dawnbreaker, wondering who would be the strongest at the same level. However-

"Did you just name Level Two Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws the State of Control?"

"Yes…" Lest Mistwalker narrowed his eyes as he also only recently learned about it, "Elementary Intent is called State of Empathy and Level One Obscure Intent is called State of Awareness, the former being considered a Peak Primary Law and the latter Peak Greater Law while the State of Control, Level Two Obscure Intent is comparable to a Mid or Peak Supreme Law."

Davis's gaze flickered with extreme interest, "What about Level Three Obscure Intent? What is it called?"
