94 Testing Out The New Spells

“Rrr?”

“Yes, Robus, I want to try to fight them all by myself.”

“R.”

“Oh? You are learning new expressions now, good job!”

“Thank you by the way. But I won’t need luck for these ones.”

Due to Robus’ body being as huge as half the trees, there’s no way for Robus and Blake to scout their enemies from up close as they would instantly notice the huge presence stalking them.

So currently, Blake and Robus were about 100 meters away from the targets that they were scouting, of course, with Blake standing on top of a tree branch so that he was able to see from so far away.

After saying his quick goodbye to his gorilla friend, Blake then summoned the dark earth armor before he started making his way toward the targets that he had been observing for quite some time now.

The distance between him and his target was quite far away, and even though Blake was able to jump from one tree to another with a single jump, his targets would have noticed him coming from above with the noise he was making every time Blake landed and kicked his feet off of a tree branch.

.....

Hence why when Blake saw the distance was right, Blake cast two spells with each hand and aimed them toward two relatively parallel trees.

It had already become his signature spell if Blake wanted to do a surprise attack that might have caught his enemies off guard.

And currently, he is trying to do exactly that.
When he was only about 30 meters away from the five wolves that had become his targets, Blake kicked his feet strongly against the tree branch while pulling the two darkness tendrils on his hand.

The result of such action was as predicted.

Blake’s body shot forward, straight on top of the five wolves.

With the five wolves already took notice of his action because of their good sense of hearing and the loud noise that Blake’s feet made from 30 meters away.

Blake was currently hovering above the wolves’ heads, and he miscalculated a little about the power of his launch that he might actually be flying over the wolves instead of landing in the middle of them.

So Blake quickly drew another set of runes, the same single darkness tendril spell, but this time, he aimed it toward the ground right in the middle of the five wolves.

Then using it as an anchor, Blake once again pulled the single darkness tendril and changed the course of his trajectory from flying into the trees to the ground beneath him.

Blake’s action was sudden and the wolves needed time to process what was happening.

If they recognized a threat coming towards them, like a very huge gorilla for example, then they would have run away and fought another day as even wolves understand that throwing their lives away fighting powerful enemies was simply foolish.

But when they saw that only one small creature that was barely as tall as themselves and much thinner than them had dared to interrupt them and even brazenly charged into the middle of them, the wolves threw away their thoughts of running away and went on attack mode unanimously by turning their heads towards the middle, circling the lone creature from all directions and cutting off its any chance of running away.

Blake was a demon mage, which means that he specialized in drawing runes and killing his enemies with his spells.

Under normal circumstances, even though Blake was confident that the wolves he was currently facing, the ones that only had 2 or 3 souls in them, were not a threat to him, he still wouldn’t stupidly charge in the middle of them.

It was simply disadvantageous for him to do that even with the dark earth armor making sure that his safety was ensured.

But in a case where he had a spell that could make use of the perfect situation where he was closely surrounded from all sides, that disadvantage became a golden opportunity instead.

Even before Blake landed in the middle of the wolves when he was still pulling the single darkness tendrils to correct his flight trajectory, Blake’s other hand was already drawing another set of runes that took him a little more than a second to draw.

While he was still in the air, the runes that Blake had been drawing started glowing. But Blake held the runes from flashing and disappearing, exactly the same as what he had learned from the brownish demon and the greenish demon.

And when he landed on the ground in the middle of the wolves, Blake instantly slammed his hand that was holding onto the runes to the ground below and let go of his hold from the spell.

The moment the runes made contact with the ground, they quickly flashed and disappeared.

And in the next split second, a burst of darkness element wave burst out from the ground underneath Blake’s palm.

A wave of thick darkness element then washed over the five wolves that circled around him and the sheer amount of darkness element made the five wolves stop moving in shock as they had never felt such a thick darkness element washing over them.

But what they didn’t realize was that the darkness elements that washed over them didn’t just simply go through them or pass through them.

Once the darkness elements recognized that they touched a creature’s body, they all began attaching themselves to said creature’s body and gathering all the other darkness elements nearby to go gather with them.

And the result of those behaviors was a bundle of darkness elements that each attached themselves to the five wolves, marking them all with Blake’s marking spell.

The wolves were currently still processing what was happening to them after they were hit by the wave of darkness element, but Blake already knew what was happening and quickly went on to his next agenda.

Each of his hands then started drawing another set of new runes.

It wasn’t as complicated as the mass marking spell and it took him slightly under a second to finish them.

But the result was more than satisfactory for him as the moment the two runes flashed and disappeared, the ground beneath two wolves began to shake before two earth spikes, dark in color, sprouted from the ground and nailed the two wolves from below.

The earth spike was shaped exactly the same as the original earth spike spell. But what made it different from the usual earth spike was its color.

Rather than the color brown, the same as the earth beneath Blake’s feet, the earth spike that came out of the ground was similar in color to the dark earth armor.

And as if the earth spike had been injected with steroids, the earth spike had become even more rigid than before, with not a single small piece of earth having been chipped off its body when going through the wolves’ skin, muscles, and bones.
