Chapter 64: Fighting The 4 Remaining Wolves (1)

“Yep, definitely an overkill,” Blake said once again when he saw his and Robus’ attack completely decimate the huge wolf.

‘Well, at least I’m right that I didn’t need to use the earth spike for this, even the spell alone is enough to do it.’ Blake thought to himself.

‘My decision to invest in all my spirit stat is definitely not for naught. This feeling of power is definitely not bad at all. In fact, I think it will be quite addicting seeing my enemy’s head blow up with just using one simple spell...’

“AWOOO!!!”

Blake’s train of thoughts was suddenly cut off as he heard the familiar wolf’s howl coming from the four remaining wolves that were basically unscathed because he and Robus had completely focused on attacking the huge wolf and ignored the others who seemed like the familiar wolves that he met in the forest.

Blake wasn’t necessarily worried about them since most of the wolves that he met along the way were the weak wolves that only gave the tasteless one soul, and at most, there would be one single wolf in the pack that gave a mediocre tasting two souls from defeating it.

But since he had now met them in an unknown territory along with the peculiar huge wolf that he had just defeated, Blake also took the other wolves seriously and quickly used his usual battle plan with Robus.

.....

“Robus, let’s do it like usual.”

Hearing Blake’s instruction, Robus nodded his head before releasing a reverberating roar towards the wolves while simultaneously activating his bloodline power, covering his whole body with the dark earth armor.

It has become his thing to always release a roar towards his enemies before charging forward.

And although Blake admitted that it was quite an effective method to pump himself up before a fight and it also worked to taunt his enemies and make his presence known, he himself didn’t do it as his fighting style was the complete opposite of Robus’.

And shouting while running right into his enemy’s face was clearly not something that someone with his type of attacks should do.
The moment Robus made himself known to the 4 wolves, their attention was soon grabbed by the huge gorilla as they released another quick howl as if they were trying to retaliate against Robus’ shout before all four of them ran towards Robus.

And seeing their enemy had used his bloodline power and cladded his huge body with dark earth armor, the wolves knew that they should also use theirs.

With one wolf releasing another howl, all the four wolves simultaneously changed the direction they were running into from going straight toward Robus to spreading out in a fan and circling around the huge gorilla.

And not only that, the top of their heads started to release a glow as a set of demonic runes started appearing in their head, starting from the top of their head to their forehead.

As those runes started glowing, Blake observed their whole body and their surroundings closely as he wanted to figure out what kind of bloodline power the wolves had.

And it didn’t take long for Blake to see sparks of light start appearing all over the wolves’ bodies.

It began from their head where the runes for their bloodline power were located, but it didn’t stop right there as the sparks started spreading throughout the wolves’ bodies from head to tail.

Those sparks looked quite similar to Blake, and when he tried to match the sparks to something he knew in his memory, Blake soon found the sparks that appeared to look very similar to electricity sparks that happen whenever an electrical component short-circuited.

It was quite rare to happen in his time since the technology back on earth had also improved tremendously after the gate appeared, but a mishap or two might happen sometimes, especially in an orphanage where they didn’t have the funding to have the latest technology installed in the orphanage.

So Blake had seen it with his own eyes a couple of times throughout his whole life.

And the sparks that he saw running all over the wolves’ bodies were very similar to the electricity sparks that he knew.

‘I guess there’s also an electricity affinity? Or maybe a lightning affinity? But the real question is, what do they use the electricity for?’ Blake wondered as he kept his eyes glued to the wolves.

Blake wanted to try and attack them to see what was their ability so that he didn’t have to wait for them to unleash it and possibly endanger him and most likely Robus who was facing them head-on.

But remembering that his existence was currently unknown to the wolves and attacking one of them would mean revealing himself, Blake decided to wait and see first so that he could make the best use of his ability and possibly end the fight faster than it would be.

‘Besides, Robus is a very tough nut to crack, there’s no way he couldn’t hold out against the wolves’ attacks if the dark earth armor is activated.’ Blake reassured himself while still keeping a high alert on the situation and prepared himself to cast his spells just in case something unexpected were to happen.

The four wolves that had activated their bloodline power and had sparks appearing here and there all over their bodies didn’t show anything unusual besides those sparks and they continued to steadily move towards Robus, circling the huge gorilla in four different directions, making the latter extra cautious and paying more attention to the four wolves’ movements.

Robus was confident that his dark earth armor would be able to defend against the wolves’ bites and scratches.

As even if the four of them attacked at the same time, his dark earth armor would be able to give him the protection that he needed from their sharp teeth and claws while also giving him the chance that he needed to take hold of one of them.

So he was expecting for that moment to happen and patiently waited until the wolves made their first move.

But different from his expectation, the wolves didn’t all rush him at the same time, instead, only one of them, the one coming from his back lunged and flew onto Robus’ neck.

The wolves’ steps weren’t necessarily silent, and that was the reason that Robus was able to notice that one of the steps was missing and it came from his back.

So when he jerked his body 180 degrees backward, he was soon faced with the wolf that had jumped earlier and it was currently in mid-air, with its jaws wide open, ready to bite him.

Robus didn’t have much time to react and it was already too late for him to dodge it with his huge body.

But his experience from living in the forest for so long and his naturally high fighting instinct made his arm move reflexively to block the jumping wolf.

And Robus was successful as the wolf’s jaw was now clamped tight onto his thick arm instead of his face, and his real arms inside the dark earth armor didn’t even feel the force of the bite as the dark earth armor had absorbed most of the damage and the bite wasn’t strong enough to chip the armor away.

The wolf that had failed in sneaking up on Robus from behind was slightly surprised by Robus’ quick response as it didn’t expect that a large rocky hand would suddenly appear out of nowhere.

But it kept going in its attack, and even when its jaw was biting nothing other than those thick rocks, the wolf still didn’t let go and held on, which made Blake ponder about what it was trying to do.

However, Blake soon got his answer as the moment the wolf was practically glued to Robus’ arm, the sparks that were spreading all over the wolf’s body had visibly started gathering in one place, and it was none other than the wolf’s mouth, which was directly connected to Robus’ arm.
