Chapter 58: Learning To Use His Wings (4)

Vera’s fingers once again pressed against Blake’s back as she moved them around in certain directions.

Instead of moving them right in the middle of his back at the intersection of his two wings, Vera pressed her two fingers on the two sides of his back, right beside his actual wings.

“You move them back and forth with these muscles.”

Then without Vera telling him to do it, Blake tried to control the muscles that Vera pointed out and tried to move his wings back and forth.

Vera then moved her fingers again to the upper and lower part of the base of his wings.

“Then you get them moving up and down with these.”

Blake then proceeded to move his wings up and down, which was the easiest of the moves so far since he had done this before when he tried to use his wings on his own to fly.

.....

And lastly, Vera touched Blake’s actual wings with her fingers again and stopped her fingers halfway through the whole wing.

“And this is the muscle that you need to control if you want to bend your wings.”

Just like before, Blake tried to bend his wings. But this time it took him several more tries than the others as the muscles on his wings were literally a new group of muscles that he never had before in his 14 years of life on earth.

Fortunately, with Vera’s help in stimulating the muscles by pressing them, Blake was soon able to do it.

Seeing that Blake was already able to bend his wings, Vera then released her fingers before saying,

“Now try using all of them and move your wings around.”

Listening to her instructions, Blake then proceeded to use all the muscles that Vera had pointed out and moved his wings in all kinds of ways.
Starting from the basic movements like up and down, back and forth, and other basic movements that he had done earlier, Blake then proceeded to move his wings diagonally by using two muscle groups at the same time.

In the middle of the series of his movements, Blake also tried to bend his wings, but it apparently took more effort as the moment he wanted to bend his wings, his focus was absorbed by moving the unfamiliar muscles in his actual wings, resulting in his wings stopping the diagonal, up and down, back and forth movement, and just stood there while bending forward.

“I guess that still needs a little more work,” Vera commented when she saw this.

“But I guess that’s already good enough, we can try doing it now.” Vera suddenly continued saying while nodding her head.

Blake had several guesses when he heard what Vera had said, but one of them was,

“I can fly now!?” He half-shouted while jerking his head in Vera’s direction.

He was genuinely excited thinking about how he could fly and cruise the sky using his own wings as even back on current earth where people could already use mana, only a small percentage of people could really fly using their own ability.

But hearing Vera’s answer, Blake’s imagination was soon toned down by several notches.

“No, not yet.” Vera shook her head.

“Your current wings haven’t fully developed yet. If you want to fly, you need them to be fully grown.”

Hearing Vera’s answer, Blake’s eyebrows visibly went downcast as his shoulder slumped in defeat.

And seeing that look on Blake’s face, Vera quickly added,

“But don’t worry, you can still make use of your current wings.”

Right after she said that, Vera put her hands on Blake’s waist and wrapped them around tightly.

Blake didn’t expect to suddenly feel another touch on his body and he reflexively muttered,

“What are you do-”

But his words were soon cut off as Vera spread her wings wide and flapped her wings downward once and both hers and Blake’s bodies soon flew off the ground.

With a couple more flaps of her wings, Blake and Vera were now flying high above the trees, overseeing a large section of the forest.

Then after they reached a certain height, Vera locked her wings in place and just flapped them lightly from time to time to keep her and Blake floating in the same place without moving anywhere.

“What are we doing up here, Vera?” Blake asked as he took in the view around him.

The view of the forest from up in the sky was certainly something that he had never seen before.

He might have seen a forest from up above back on earth, but it was through a drone’s lens and from a computer’s screen.

But here, other than Blake seeing it using his own two eyes, which made the experiment an uncountable amount of times better than just seeing it through a screen, the supposedly green forest was not only filled with greens.

The red sun that hangs above the sky and didn’t move even an inch anywhere, any time of the day, painted the forest with a red hue, giving the forest a very fantasy world vibe that made Blake’s mind amazed by the different and magical view.

“We’re going to learn how to really use your wings.” Vera’s voice soon came from behind him.

“For now, spread your wings outward, bend them slightly downward, and keep them locked in place,” Vera instructed.

Blake then did as he was told by Vera and used his new knowledge to move his wings accordingly.

Blake patiently waited for her next instructions, but he certainly didn’t expect her to say what she was about to say after giving him her next instruction.

“And now, make sure to keep your wings relatively in this position, and run your nether through your wings.”

“Because now, in your terms, it’s momma bird time.”

“Wha-!?” Before Blake was able to ask what she meant, Blake suddenly felt the grip on his waist was released, and in the next moment, he was already free falling from about 100 meters up in the sky.

“YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST WARNED ME FIRST!” He shouted at the top of his lungs.
