256. Extra Chapter 1: My Parents Are Not Home

Translator: Bryan

Wei Yuan had been uneasy all day.

The reason was that Guo Xiaoting who had been lukewarm to him in the past few days actually sent him a text message early this morning. She had even specially emphasized something.

“My parents are not home.”

Those words were so suggestive and titillating.

Therefore, Wei Yuan woke up early in the morning to dress up. He put on a shirt, a suit jacket, polished his shoes and perfumed himself.

He did everything within his power to make himself attractive.

“Where are you going?” Yan Chuyang confusedly looked at Wei Yuan who had been rearranging his hair for quite some time.

“Guo Xiaoting asked me out,” Wei Yuan said smugly, stroking his hair which was now stiff from mousse.

“Impressive.” Yan Chuyang curled his lip. “You’re making a rapid progress.”

“You don’t have to envy me,” Wei Yuan said, spraying more perfume over himself. “You and my brother are going steady as well. You’ve even registered your marriage and are living together.”

“That doesn’t mean anything,” Yan Chuyang said, sounding slightly dejected. “Wei Qing’s still quite unapproachable. I won’t be able to win his heart anytime soon.”

“Well, I gotta go.” Wei Yuan rose from his chair, straightened his tie and said, “I promised Xiaoting I’d go to her home to have lunch with her at 12 o’clock. It’s 10 o’clock already. I need to hurry lest I be late.”

“Go, then,” Yan Chuyang said jealously. “You always put your bedmates before your friends.”

Wei Yuan patted Yan Chuyang’s shoulder, chuckled and strode out of the door.

It was only 11 o’clock when Wei Yuan arrived at Guo Xiaoting’s home. He paced up and down outside for a few moments before he plucked up the courage to walk over to the door and knocked.

“Who is it?” An impatient and sexy male voice came from inside the house.

Wei Yuan’s heart did a somersault. A man? Why was there a man in Guo Xiaoting’s house? And the speaker sounded like a young man.

But after being nervous for a while, Wei Yuan suddenly recalled that Guo Xiaoting had a brother who was five years older than her.

Wei Yuan’s shoulders relaxed again. He chuckled inwardly, believing that he overthought it.

“Hello, I’m…”

The door opened.

A man with a rugged face stood in the doorway. Wei Yuan had always believed that he was very manly, but compared with this man in front of him, he was nothing.

The man was wearing a buzz cut, had a prominent nose and deep-set eyes.

The man looked like a foreigner. The contours of his features were very sharp.

Wei Yuan swallowed hard. The man struck him as uncannily handsome.

“Speak.” Guo Hanxin folded his arms over his chest, knitted his dashing eyebrows and said coldly, “Are you dumb or something? Who are you looking for?”

“I…” Wei Yuan came to himself, hesitated for a moment and then straightened his back and said in a silvery voice, “I’m here to see Guo Xiaoting.”

On hearing Wei Yuan’s voice, Guo Hanxin blinked his eyes twice. He stared at Wei Yuan for a while before he said in a deep voice, “What’s your name?

“Wei Yuan.”

“Which Wei? Which Yuan?”

“The same Wei as Wei Zhongxian’s. Yuan is the one that means far.”

Wei Yuan thought, “Shit!” He had an urge to slap his own face. Wei Zhongxian was the name of a eunuch in ancient Chinese history! Guo Hanxin’s air was so brooding that Wei Yuan’s mind was jammed.

Surprisingly, Guo Hanxin didn’t smile. He just turned aside and, face cold, said to Wei Yuan, “Come in.”

“Thanks,” Wei Yuan responded. He pushed open the door and walked around Guo Hanxin into the living room.

“Take a seat.” Guo Hanxin glanced at him and handed Wei Yuan a glass of water. “I need to make a call.”

“Okay,” Wei Yuan said.

Guo Hanxin turned and walked towards the balcony.

“Hey,” Wei Yuan called after him.

Guo Hanxin turned around and stared into Wei Yuan’s eyes. “What’s the matter?”

His gaze gave Wei Yuan the willies. He steeled himself and stammered, “Well… Is Xiaoting not in?”

“Like I said,” Guo Hanxin said in a low voice, “Just wait here.”

“Okay,” Wei Yuan straightened his shoulders. “Go make the call. I’ll wait.”

Wei Yuan didn’t know why he was being so obedient. He had never been afraid of anybody except for Wei Qing. However, all his courage seemed to have disappeared at the sight of Guo Hanxin.

Guo Hanxin nodded with satisfaction and walked towards the balcony.

“Hey, Hanxin.” A girl’s voice came from the other end of the phone.

“What’s with that boy?” Guo Hanxin asked without preamble, a cigarette in his hand.

Guo Xiaoting was stunned for a moment before asking, “Which boy?”

Guo Hanxin’s eyes darkened slightly. “The boy whose voice was in the tape you had me listen to the other day.”

Guo Xiaoting had had Guo Hanxing listen to the tape recording of Wei Yuan groaning. She had coerced Wei Yuan into doing that.

She abruptly caught on and exclaimed, “You mean Wei Yuan?”

Guo Hanxin took a long draw on his cigarette, took it off his mouth and said, “Yeah, it’s him.”

“Hey,” Guo Xiaoting drawled meaningfully. “Hold on, Hanxin. How come you recognized his voice so easily?”

Guo Hanxin thought irritably, “Stupid.” He had listened to that tape countless times. Besides, Wei Yuan’s voice was very special, and it sounded almost the same as it did in a tape recording. Therefore, Guo Hanxin had instantly come to realize that Wei Yuan was the one whose groaning voice was in that tape.

In fact, Guo Hanxin had recognized Wei Yuan’s voice the moment Wei Yuan spoke.

It was because Guo Hanxin felt his stomach tighten at Wei Yuan’s silvery voice.

It was more effective than aphrodisiac.

“He’s in our home?”

“Yes.”

“Well…Should I go back?”

Guo Hanxin was silent, his eyes inscrutable.

“Hanxin?” Guo Xiaoting asked again, “Do you want me to go back?”

Guo Hanxin exhaled deeply, flicked ash with his little finger and asked, “Where are you?”

“I’m shopping.”

“Well, keep shopping,” Guo Hanxin said in a low voice.

“But… Wei Yuan is still waiting for me.”

“I will pacify him.”

“Are you sure? You don’t have to do that for me.”

“Can you not understand me?” Guo Hanxin said impatiently, “I will pacify him. Just leave him to me.”

Guo Xiaoting finally dissolved into giggles. “Hanxin, have you got your eye on him?”

“No!”

Guo Xiaoting curled her lip and said, “Stop denying it. You’re my brother. I can read your mind. You think I don’t know what you are thinking?”

Guo Hanxin turned to look at Wei Yuan in the living room. When he saw Wei Yuan begin to impatiently look at his wristwatch, he finally said in a sulky voice, “I gotta go. He’s running out of patience.”

“My goodness.” Guo Xiaoting clutched her heart. “Hanxin, you’ve finally come around. I’ve been trying to knock you into shape for so many years, and my efforts finally paid off.”

Yes.

Guo Xiaoting was a little devil.

She was obsessed with fantasies, and sometimes she couldn’t tell the difference between a fantasy and reality.

She was no different from other girls except for the fact that other girls dressed up to find themselves boyfriends.

But Guo Xiaoting dressed up to help her big brother find a partner, and she found him a man.

She felt that Wei Yuan who was upbeat, handsome and honest was the best candidate.

“Is there anything else?” Guo Hanxin looked at Wei Yuan in the living room sympathetically. “If there isn’t, I’ll hang up.”

“Wait! Wait!” Guo Xiaoting exclaimed. “There’s something important I need to tell you.”

Guo Hanxin patiently replied, “What is it?”

“I’ve prepared your lunch. It’s in the kitchen. Just take it out.”

“I want to take him out to eat,” Guo Hanxin said honestly. “I don’t dare give him anything cooked by you.”

Guo Xiaoting snorted. “I can’t believe you’ve become protective of him so soon.”

“Yeah.”

The moment Guo Hanxin had seen Wei Yuan, he had gotten the impression that Wei Yuan was a spoiled child.

He didn’t want Wei Yuan to feel any upset.

Guo Xiaoting said meaningfully, “But I spiked the food with some good stuff…”

Guo Hanxin frowned. “What are you talking about?”

“Well, just a little bit,” Guo Xiaoting emphasized. “I did it to spice things up a little for you guys. It has no side effects.”

“Cut the crap!” Guo Hanxin growled. “If you dare drug him again, there will be consequences!”

“Hey, Hanxin, I’m sorry. I…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Guo Hanxin hung up.

He felt that his little sister was getting more and more unruly.

Guo Hanxin walked into the living room.

Wei Yuan was fidgeting on the sofa. At the sight of Guo Hanxin, he hurried to his feet and asked, “What did she say? When will she come back?”

Guo Hanxin unhurriedly made his way to Wei Yuan’s side and placed his hand on Wei Yuan’s shoulder. “Just sit.”

“Uh…” The look in Wei Yuan’s eyes flickered and he subconsciously cringed a little to avoid Guo Hanxin’s hand. After giving a hollow laugh, he said, “If Xiaoting is not home, I think I should get going.”

Wei Yuan didn’t know why, but the moment he stepped into the living room, he had an inexplicable sense of danger. He kept feeling that something was going to happen.

“What’s the rush?” Guo Hanxin frowned. “It’s noon. I’d like to invite you to eat out with me.”

“Oh, that’s very kind of you, but no, thanks.” Wei Yuan waved his hands repeatedly. If Xiaoting isn’t here, I’d better go back to school.”

Wei Yuan picked up his backpack from the sofa to leave.

“Wait!” Guo Hanxin suddenly opened his arms to block Wei Yuan’s path.

“Hmm?” Wei Yuan looked at him.

Guo Hanxin’s eyes became inscrutable. “If you don’t want to eat out, we may eat right here. Lunch is ready in the kitchen.”

Wei Yuan shook his head. “Well, I don’t want to impose… I’m here to see Xiaoting. If she’s not in…”

Guo Hanxin was turned on. “Be patient. Xiaoting will be here very soon.”

Wei Yuan was stunned for a moment before she finally nodded. “Alright then, I’ll wait for her for a while longer.”

“Um.” Guo Hanxin’s eyes became tender as he took Wei Yuan’s backpack and said, “Come. Let’s go to the dining room to have lunch. It’s lunchtime. We may while waiting for her.”

Wei Yuan’s lips compressed. After pondering for a while, he nodded and agreed, “Okay.”

What Wei Yuan didn’t know was that his casual affirmative answer would cost him his virginity which he kept for years.

Of course, that happened afterwards.
