The pirates surprised Xiaomao. He knew that undead pirates had the ability to teleport anywhere in the sea, but these guys found him too fast. He wondered if the ownership of the frigate still belonged to the mobs, which allowed them to return to their ship.

Defeating a thousand level-100 undead pirates in a sea battle at Xiaomao's current state was impossible However, he hadn't completely improved his character to the fullest yet.

The catopus race was physically weak in close combat as they could not wear proper armor like humanoid creatures. Their small tentacles were also not suitable for direct combat.

However, catopuses thrived as mages and assassins. Their small physique made them hard to be targeted or attacked by their enemies.

Xiaomao made up his mind. His character would now be prioritized on becoming a hybrid assassin-mage, who specialized in sniping and long-ranged attacks.

‘The stats doesn't synergize with  my current skill set as a sniper. But once I get my hands on the Chaos Element, everything will be a lot easier since I'll be able to switch combat status between physical attack and magical attack.'

Xiaomao brought out two spellbooks and learned them right away.

– Create 100 Lightning bolts to strike 100 random enemies or destroyable objects within a radius of 500 meters. Deal fixed elemental damage and stun the targeted enemies for five seconds. Damage Calculation = ((M.ATK x 2) + Lightning Root + Fire Root)

– If there is an undead creature in the 500-meter range, the lightning bolts will strike them first.

– If there is a player or NPC with high negative karma within the 500-meter range, the lightning bolts will prioritize them if no undead creature is among the targets.

– Deal double damage to undead creatures.

– Each lightning bolt deals Lightning and Fire damage to the target and its surroundings.

Summon a ray of light to purify an evil being from this world.

Rarity: Super Rare

Requirement: Level 55, 1,000 Light Spiritual Root.

Class Restriction: Any Mage or Priest

Cost: 3,000 MP

Cooldown: 60 minutes

Effects:

– Instantly erase any undead being.

– Deal 80% Magic Damage to Demon Race.

– Deal 100% Magic Damage to Evil Player.

The first lightning bolt descended and hit the main mast of a cog ship. The undead pirate on the mast was sent flying. A large number, 15,080, appeared on top of the pirate crew.

Lightning bolts consecutively rained upon the pirates on the cog ships. The same fixed damage of 15,080 decreased the victims' HP bars by 60%. A few unlucky pirates got hit twice, and their bones turned into ash.

Killing a field mob gave less EXP than hunting in a dungeon. Moreover, these mobs didn't give Xiaomao any useful item other than junk to be sold. They didn't even give him their equipment as rusty scimitars were too useless to become a player's weapon.

The lightning bolts left countless sparks whenever they hit a part of the ghost ships. As the 10 cog ships were too small for all 1,000 pirates, they were packed together like canned tuna. One after another, the lightning bolts caused collateral damage to their friends.

Although the spell only summoned 100 bolts, no one on the cog ships had a full HP bar. Even Torrent lost 10% of his HP after the onslaught.

Unfortunately, the spell lasted two minutes. After the 100 lightning bolts hit their targets, the storm disappeared.

Torrent stood on the front deck of a burning cog with a broken mast. He fired the front harpoon, and the spear hit the black frigate, latching their ships together.

After the storm dispersed, Xiaomao rode the flying sword and descended toward Torrent. He brought out a wooden stick and pointed at the pirate king.

As if Torrent sensed the danger, he jumped off from his cog.

A ray of sunlight shone upon the place that Torrent had stood, and the front deck of the ghost ship dissipated into dust.

The light dimmed the next second, but Torrent's cog already lost the front part of the ship. It soon sank into the sea along with the crews.

Xiaomao cackled and flew away, returning to his frigate and leaving Torrent and his men to float in the sea.

"KAKAKAKA, MUNYARR! This is my ship now!"

Meanwhile, Shepherd, Lucky, and Magdalene couldn't contribute anything as all cogs were reduced to broken burning ships. They observed the development with a pokerface expression before Shepherd calmly span the wheel, navigating the ship out of the encirclement.

Lucky proceeded to the harpoon spear and cut the rope. She collected the harpoon as a throwable weapon for herself.

Magdalene pursed her lips. She was a lot stronger than Torrent and the pirates, but she couldn't kill them and give EXP to Shepherd. Thus, she only summoned wind and propelled the frigate forward faster.

<Magdalene regrets that she can't kill the pirates.>

While the ship was leaving the pirates behind, Xiaomao returned to the deck with his flying sword.

"Let's leave, munya. We don't need to fight here."

Magdalene furrowed her brows.

<Magdalene is curious why you didn't finish off the pirates.>

Xiaomao sighed, "I missed. My spells have a long cooldown. I can't use them again for an hour, munya!"
